Received my seeds from CKS and got seven in the package.. Couldn't wait to get going so I germed one and started it in strait Fox Farms Ocean Floor. Ordered my grow box from Unique Hydroponics -- will just sub the 3 gallon pot for the hydro gear and grow one plant in soil to determine size and yield from these things. Distilled water only.

Box finally came in.. Added a secondary mini fan outside of the box to shoot (maybe) cooler air up into the intake fan. The space inside this box is small.. 13 inches deep and the mars hydro is way hotter than I thought it would be. Worried that the seedling only getting 7 hours of pure sun on the porch would be stressed with hitting the 18/6 schedule, but she seems to love it. Starting veg nutes next week..

Went light on nutes as smarter heads have talked about with autos. Starting to really grow now.. may end up being a single cola.. Temp running high with the 300w in such a small space.. but I'm pretty sure she is loving everything by the looks of it....multiple pistils are now emerging as well..

Looks like bud sites have started to pop.. Can't tell if she is full flower mode. Explosive growth throughout the week... things are looking good. Added 1ml/gal of bloom nute. Will finish this gallon then go water for a week.

Decided to "flush" at week 5 to let the girl absorb as many nutes before the bloom nutes go into effect. Unfortunately, the distilled water I use ph's at 7.5..... so I used pH down to get the flush water down to 6.5 before I watered. Stupid move... within a day i saw bright red spots at the ends of my leaves. I tested the runoff after flush day 2 and it registered 4.5! After some research, I realized you should NEVER ph down any feeding with FFOF because of how hot it is. However, she has achieved her bonsai form and all the bud sites are flowering now at day 38 from seed. Next feed will be a stepped down flower nute schedule to make sure Calcium gets reintroduced. Wish me luck.

Had to go on vacation and missed week six.. Had a friend water while I was gone. Just used two feedings over the last week and a half with distilled water-- still showing nute burn I think.. led 15 inches from top kola so I think Im good there. Might have dried her out a little bit Main kola getting fatter. True bonsai -- this thing is SMALL... Will ramp up bloom nutes before flush. Showing some frost, but this is a beginners strain, so Im good with any trichome production.

Fed twice with grow nutes -- then on three day flush and chop on the 4th... Noticed many fox tails because the light was too close to the plant.. Lesson learned.. Some of the calyx showing purple -- frostier as well.. Hope the taste wasn't ruined by heat/light stress.

if the soil is hot it means it is acidic.. ph up would be the call.. ph down adds even more acid.. so the 6.5 im adding ph down to get to is coming out as 4.5 in the runoff.. which means the water is coming out super acidic.

Can you explain a bit more about the Ph down issue? My assumption would be if the soil was hot, you would need to ph down to compensate for that. But now I see that my assumption is incorrect. 🙂 Thanks.
