Hello everyone!
Welcome to my Tent-X Ultimate Grow Challenge diary. 💪
I'm germinating 2 seeds from every of the selected cultivars on paper towels:
👉 Strawberry Cough (Dutch Passion)
👉 Mimozz (Perfect Tree)
👉 Slurricane (Advanced Seeds)
👉 Cherry Atomic Sledgehammer (Welcome To The GrowTent)
Did not have much success this time - germination rate was just over 60% - my worst in years. But still - I'll get enough plants for my tent - I always try to sprout 200% of what I really need, for ocasions like this one. 😎
After they germinated I moved sprouts to easy plugs - which is wher they normally start they life (I usually ommit paper towel step and go straight into plugs).
First time in years I'm really having problems with germination. The one Slurricane that did germinate seems to have broken growth cone or something - it is no growing at all.
Mimozz seems like it wants to die so it probably will... I did drop one more seed just to be sure I have at least 4 plants:
👉 Grandpa's Cookies #6 S1 (ETHOS Genetics)
More updates coming soon 👋
Thank you, come again! 😅
After 2 weeks it's a mixed bag of results.
Cherry Atomic Sledgehammer is doing great as always.
Strawberry Cough is the tallest, but has very little branching and needs bigger pot and/or feeding.
Mimozz did bounce back - it's slow but beautiful. I'll give it a chance.
Grandpa's Cookies germinated in second batch, it has a week and is overwatered. It'll be fine but is behind due to later germination.
Slurricane is super mutated and has damaged growth cone - I still have it for fun but will not be flipping this one for sure.
I'll be moving them to bigger pots with new soil in a few days.
Slurricane mutant got sparta-d off the cliff - no more soil and energy for tiny and slow plant.
All the rest - 5 plants - got trasnsplanted into 3 gallon / 12 liter fabric pots.
Light level is 260-400 µmol/m2/s - on average 300 µmol/m2/s.
Mimozz did bounce back beautifully. It was so much behind but now it is catching up to Cherry Atomic Sleddgehammers that are doing fabolously from the start.
Strawberry Cough is sick-ish. It lookese like it got deficient in some nutes in solo cup - should bounce back now in 12 liters of new, pre-fretilized soil (Canna Terra Professional).
The last addition - germinated over a week later - Grandpa's Cookies is super weird - it looks like a catnip or something - we'll see what she'll become.
After a month they are doing quite good. Should be bigger by this time but well... there were problems on the way.
It's good now ;)
Middle one - Grandpa's Cookies is smallest and least branchy - but it was germinated almost 2 weeks after the rest so it's normal.
Strawberry Cough is still weird and sicklish - but I hope it'll bounce back in the new soil.
All of them were topped last week and the tallest - Strawberry Cough got some LST clips installed to make her more "ghrounded" ;)
Six weeks gone. I need to flip them soon but flower tent will be busy for next 10-14 days so I have to deal with them here for now.
I did take biggest fan leaves to slow them down a bit.
Strawberry Cough was much higher than the rest so I topped her second time.
Mimozz is small but super dense and branchy.
Grandpa's Cookies is still very weird. Looks like some micronutrient deficiency but it should have more than the rest since it is smaller and I used same bag of soil so... Who knows
Week 7 is over. They are more than ready for flowering. In 3-4 days I'll have free bloom tent and will transfer them there and flip to 12/12.
Most of them are doing very good - slight VPD issues but will be corrected.
Strawberry Cough still the biggest even after double topping and bending. Still looks weak-ish though. Stems and branches are very flexible comparing to other plants.
Grandpa's Cookies #6 are a failure. I'll see but I probably will discard it. It's very underdeveloped - small, slender, willowy. Leaves are still weird - it didn't grow out of it.
Flowering commencing!
I just transfered them to 4x4ft tent under Mars Hydro FC 4800 and flipped them to 12/12.
4/5 are doing very good - the Grandpa's Cookies are not okay - but I decided to keep it and just see what it'll become.
I removed lowest branches from every plant - they would never reach canopy level.
Let's do this! Wooooooooooooooo!
First week of florwering is over. They all already show pistills so induction was successful.
I did a little defoliation to uncover bud sites and LST-d Strawberry Cough since it was much higher than the rest of the ladies. Now I do have even-ish canopy.
CA$H and Mimozz are going superb. Cough is okay, not great, not bad. Grandpa's Cookies is a runt but I'll try to have at least some weed from this one also 💪
Third week of flowering - stretch is real. I had to move the light up to escape from the growth.
All are doing fine, Strawberry is still meh/weird but 3/5 are fabulous, rest is alive and flowering, tent is full - I'm content.
Due to Easter I did not had time for them - I need to catch up with defoliation, lollipopping and ScrOGging them.
More on that in the next update, cheers 😎
Stretch is done - I hope - Strawberry Cough is almost touching the light - Mimozz is not far behind.
I need to move the light up even more. That is first time I did not ScrOG them right after flip - and so far I regret it - but we'll see - maybe I'll harvest more than usually and will not use scrog any more... who knows !?
All are in full flowering mode now - stacking nodes on nodes, producing pistills and forming flowers. One month to go 💪
Everything is good, they were a little hungry this week and lost some lower leaves due to mobile deficiency but I did feed twice and problem resolved itself.
I plan to defoliate the canopy to some extent this week. Light is at 100% now.
Mimozz is smelling sooo good - it's crazy. I love it and can't wait to try some rosin from this strain.
On the other hand - Strawberry Cough is not smelling at all. The rest of them are smelling good but nothing special to report :)
Till the next week, cheers!
Ladies are doing fabulously. Today I did some defoliation and added ScrOG - they started to lie down due to weight of the colas.
Mimozz and Grandpa's Cookies are smelling super duper great - one of the best I ever smelled.
Cherry Atomic is fire as always - big, fast, sticky and kush-y.
Strawberry Cough is TALL as sativa should be - also her colas are stacked like crazy - they are 40cm / 15" in length! She is much slower than her sisters - will need extra 3-4 weeks probably to fully mature after I'll harvest rest of the tent. But I can't wait to see results. This will be something good 😎
First day of week 7
Mimozz and Grandpa's Cookies are ready 😅 It's crazy how fast they developed. 😎
Two plants of Cherry Atomic Sledgehammer are getting there. Should be ready at end of week 8.
Strawberry Cough will probably need 12 weeks to fully mature - but she'll be monster! Can't wait to see her later. 😈
7 full weeks of flowering have passed.
Four indica-ish plants are almost there! I have majority of cloudy trichomes and amber is just starting to show up 😎
The one sativa - Strawberry Cough - is a MONSTER 👹 and she eats more than other 4 plants combined - but she'll need ~4 weeks more to fully mature. She's still throwing new pistils 😵
I plan to harvest the "indicas" in about 7-10 days. Obvoiusly Strawberry Cough will have to stay for much longer 😅
They all smell soooooooooo good - I can't wait to wash them and press some fire rosin 😈
Last days for most of them - only Strawberry Cough will stay longer - she is super hungry and I can not keep up with feeding her - most of leaves are yellow now. 😱
The rest - four plants will be harvested on the weekend - 2-3 days from now and frozen - I'll be making bubble hash and fresh frozen live resin from them in the following weeks 😈
Trichomes are mostly milky with some amber starting - ideal ripeness and time to freeze those glands
Four of five plants will ba harvested right after taking those photos.
Strawberry Cough will stay longer - as long as I can keep her alive - she already lost most of leaves but she is far from being ready.
She now have whole tent for herself 😂 I need to give her another ScrOG net - she is starting to bulk and already colas are too big to stay vertical by themselves.
Thank you 👉 TrolMaster 👈 for providing the Tent-X controller. It was awesome!
I gave up on her. She it one big fixtail.
No trichomes, no resinbg, no smell, no stickiness, leaves almost all gone - no point in waiting.
Into the trashcan she goes. Farewell. But she did yileld beautifully. It's just shit product.
