Germination 19th of January. All seeds germinated well with Black Domina being the weakest so far (as was the case with the last grow). Since I had another Seed of BD I just wanted to give her another chance. So far the plants are looking good, except for being slightly too tall. From experience with growing under LED I'm however sure that it will grow "out" as usually the distances inbetween new side stems is quite small. All the seeds being indica strains will also support fixing that issue rather sooner than later. Temperatures are a bit on the low side, partly due to the (high quality but) low power 50W LED light. This light will stay for another week until it gets replaced by the 300W Mars Hydro (not the pink strip club type light but a "proper" one :-) ). The 50W Sanlight will later have another appearance as it will support during the flowering phase. Soil and containerwise I will do a bit of an experiment. Right now all four are in a soil mix containing Sonnenerde (very high quality austrian soil), Batmix by Plagron and a very light soil for seedlings. Mixed in is primary rock powder, some cattle manure pellets, horn shavings, silica (for plants), and mycorhizza fungus for root growth. The plan is to keep this super soil mixed into the new containers as well. Without the seedling soil and with a bit of worm castings and old/used coffee. I tried this mix in a slightly different form already indoor and outdoor and it proved to be plenty enough for not having to use fertilizer again (unless you want to). Usually i tend to give a bit of alga mix (plagron for bloom) towards the beginning of the flower phase, this time we will see if thats necessary.. Container: 1x Cream Caramel: After current 0,5l into a plastic 5l pot and after that into a 11L Gronest (fabric pot) 1x Cream Caramel: After 0,5l into a 9L Airpot 1x OG KUSH: AFTEr 0,5l into a 4L Airpot and after that into a 15L plastic container with a wick-system. I will install a fiberglass wick wired through the soil and hanging into the closed water container underneath. First time trying the wick system, although before i watered already by hand but from below. 1x Black Domina: After 0,5l into a 4L Gronest (Fabric) Generally my plan is to leave them 1-2 weeks longer in vegetative growth in order to make more use of the large tent (with only four plants). Im keen on seeing how this run develops and hope you all enjoy following the process 😊 Make sure to also check our other grow with 2 sativas (Super Lemon Haze) We much appreciate any comments or advices or of course questions! 😀

Week 2! 😀 Growth is going well so far, plants look healthy, I'm happy with their start in life.. Plants got watered last tuesday (30.01) and today (04.02). I was quite surprised with the water containment ability of this earth.

Today quite a lot of work but I am happy with the results. I mixed a selfmade super soil and re-potted the plants into larger containers. 3 out of 4 plants are now in their final containers. Unlike i stated at the beginning of the grow, i have skipped a 5,8L pot for one Cream Caramel and directly potted her into the 11L Gronest. Honestly i just didnt want the hassle of repotting 2 plants later in the grow, so now Ill just have to do one plant 😅 So basically i'll never have to water again by hand. I bought black buckets (so no light can reach the water that causes organisms to grow within the water) , put holes at the top and filled them with water. Ive took a glassfibre wick which reaches the bottom of the bucket and goes in spirals into the earth until it nearly reaches the top of the earth. That way the plant can work its magic and take as much water as it needs and wants. Also in this way its ensured the water gets spread evenly within the (super-) soil. I am not planning on giving any fertilizer as it is not necessary, so there is only clear water in the buckets. The mulch cover on top of the soil is a special, progressed (no contamination) and biological mulch made of hay and cattle manure. It retains the water in the soil and also slowly gives nutrients into the soil. I am very happy with the outcome and think the solution i used will work well 😊 Only downturn was that 2 out of 4 plants didnt have the roots as developed as i hoped, so it was quite difficult to not injure the roots....😐 PS: As you guys can see ive switched the lights, now 300W of LED shining bright on the ladies...

The very end of week 4! So a few changes took place: - second (bigger, standing) fan inside the tent now - all plants got topped in order to increase growth in side branches - slightly increased the distance to the LED (300W) because the plants grow very bushy (Expectable with indicas i know 😄) Cream Caramel 2 curls up (just slightly as pictured) the sides of its leaves. I suspected wind, changed the fan, got slightly better but still visable. Soil too strong? Anyone knows what the cause could be? I am again dissapointed by Black Domina by Sensi Seeds. I extremely underperformed during the last run, compared to 3 other different type strains. I even threw the plant away mid flower due to bud rot, but honestly i wasnt sad as the plant didnt look appealing at all. I wanted to give another seed of this strain a try.... Well this one appears a bit more vital but has the same (!!) white/yellowish stains on its leaves. Not visible on the pictures as ive cut the leaves away beforehand. If anyone is interested, i have pictures of it could post with next update. Irrigation: My self-build system of watering from below seems to work excellent 😊 The plants always look happy and the soil under the mulch feels perfectly moist. Could'nt be better in my opinion. Planning on giving them until mid march before 12/12. Letting them grow veg quite long and topping another time again with tieing some branches down. Thats the outline plan for the next 4 weeks.

Ive been busy so unfortunately ive got a small gap in my diary 😅. Sorry for that for anyone following the report curiously.. So basically all the minor problems i had (plants showed a slight over-nutrition) went away with time. The plants adapted to the soil perfectly and are strong and healthy. I have thrown the Black Domina away. First i thought it might be a virus, but after all I believe its simply a mutation/bad genes. Anyways, 2 out of 3 Black domina seeds were very disappointing. Therefore i planted another cream caramel seed. By now we go 11L Gronest with auto watering, 9L Airpot with auto watering, 11L Gronest without auto watering and the small baby CC will be replanted into a 4L gronest on monday which will be the final size. I've used some more mykhorrhiza fungus and some biological nutrients (solid fertilizer, not fluid) Furthermore ive topped the plants 3 times over the past weeks and tied the branches down. TOMORROW will be the start of flowering as i will switch to 12/12 light cycle. Looking forward to the stretch of the ladies 😏 Only downturn: As the plants get more thirsty with the size (and probably within the first weeks of flower too), the one wick ive put into the earth proves to be too weak. While the soil was perfectly moist in the first weeks, now i need to add a bit of water from the top every 5,6 days or so. They wont die from dehydration if i dont do it, but its better this way. Learning: 7mm Diameter Glassfibre Wick is not enough for 11L of soil. Next time thicker or even better 2 of those.

In the next days I will rigorously defoliate the plants in order to promote air circulation. The are very compact and too dense (leave-wise) for my taste. Stretch is nicely showing, by now 350W are lighting the ladies. Next week I will add another 40W Flower Light Bar. Humidity is ranging between 50-70%. I will try to get that down as with the dense leave structure it’s not a favourable combination 😅 Will soon use a bit of Plagron Alga Bloom biological liquid fertilizer.
