Second try! :)
Since i had Seeds over from my last order i wanted to use them. So another try with RQS, hope this time without any Problems.
I have put all 5 Seeds into the Peat Pellets today (04.02.) and hope that most of them will germinate in the upcoming days.
Same Setup like on my last grow.
/Edit
On 07.02. 1+2 did germinate, 3+4 one day later on 08.02.
Better start like with Royal Gorilla :)
On 11.02. the fifth seed did germinate, sadly i don't got any use for it, except for having a backup in case something goes wrong with the others and so i will probably just gift it to someone else.
Little bit late with the update. Today i had time to clean the tent from the last run and move the plants them into their new home.
Roots showed pretty fast on the bottom of the Jiffys so i decided to plant them into 1.55l pots witz BioBizz Light Mix and BioTabs Mycotrex.
At first everything was fine but after a few days they started to look a bit weird. I had the same problem on the last run and thought it would be because i gave them Biotabs too early, but this time i gave them nothing. I don't over water them, PPFD is correct, only Light Mix, Coco, Perlite and Mycotrex is being used. No idea. Last time they recovered without problems and only had it on the first few leaves, so i just hope it will be the same this time.
Sadly Plant 3 showed the same Problems as RG #3 in my last run on the beginning. It was growing a little bit slower then the others, but compared to those it was very very tiny, like a micro version of it.
All seeds popped, so i still had Plant 5 as a backup and so i replaced Plant 3 with 5, so only the best plants will be used.
I hope the problem will be gone in 1-2 weeks. Lets see.
Sadly plant 4 turned out too be a little bit crippling just like plant 3 did. This time i don't got a replacement plant so i have to use it like it is.
Since RG 3 on the last run had the same problem and still turned out good i don't worry too much, it will catch up for sure at one point.
The other plants grow fine and look much better already.
Other then that nothing happened :) See you next week
Whatever it was in the beginning, just as last time, they managed to get over it and recovered from it.
So Plant 4 looks still behind, but did catch up a little bit. Plant 3 is almost as tall as 1 and 2 but looks a bit weird. It will get better over time.
Tomorrow i will repot them into the new and final pots and start giving BioTabs. So next week it will look a little bit different.
See you then 👍
Last Sunday i repotted the plants into their final 15L Pots.
Those Pots are new and even tho i got 60L soil used in total for 4 plants, the pots looked a little bit empty.
So even tho they are meant for 15L, i had to use almost 20L in total for each plant to fill the pots like they are now.
My plan was to use just some more soil compared to last time, 15L was the plan, now it's 20L.
I know i have to use more fertilizer like that and more water and not really gain that much from it, but it is like it is now.
Since i repotted i also used BioTabs for the first time. Nothing else to do for the next 4 weeks.
For Each Pot:
- 75g Startrex mixed into the Soil
- 5g Mycotrex into the hole before putting the plant in
- 3 BioTabs pushed in besides the plant 10 cm into the soil
- Watered with 5L water in total for the first time, for each Liter of water i used 1g Bactrex and 5ml Orgatrex just as the manual says
Of course those pots use more space then the 1.55L pots, so i had to start using the second lamp, both running at 50% now so i get a even PPFD at around 400 on all plants.
The manual says 75% but it would be too much for now i think, i will slowly move to 600 PPFD in the upcoming days/weeks.
All Plants got Topped once so far.
There are minor discolorations on a few leaves but i don't worry about them. Everything will be dialed in soon.
See you next week! :)
All Plants got Topped twice so far. The two bigger ones will get topped once more next week i think.
Plant 1 and 2 grow as expected, Plant 3 is catching up, sadly Plant 4 grows kinda weird and slower but this one will also get on track sooner or later.
Besides that nothing really happened. :)
See you next week!
I think i overdid it with topping, Plant 1, 2 and 3 got topped 3 times, in hope Plant 4 would catch up in the meantime. Sadly this didn't turned out as planed and topping 2 times would have been enough.
The plants seem to redirect their energy into the side branches which got pretty huge, so i installed the scrog net yesterday which i didn't wanted to actually use for now, so i will remove it again when they get defoliated. But like this i can tie down the side branches for now in hope the plant would start redirecting the energy to the main stem again.
Because of this i will have to add at least another week of Veg i think, otherwise the upcoming week would have been the last already. But i will see how it will turn out.
Plant 4 got lifted up a little bit, so it's even with the others.
Really can't wait to defoliate them and start flowering, but it's my own mistake that i can't do it next week already.
Im still happy with the grow so far and i guess everyone has to make a few mistakes or learn on his own to really know why you do what you do, instead of just reading or watching.
On my next Indoor run after Summer, i will Main-Line my plants for sure.
See you next week :)
Alright, this was the last veg week, i will flip them tomorrow.
On every Pot i used one more BioTab because of my longer veg time, after that each have gotten 500ml of Water with 40ml of Orgatrex and 1g of Bactrex, just like the manual says.
BioTabs was so kind to send me something to try out. The BioTabs Compost Tea which i will use in the first flowering week, really wonder how it will improve flowering combined with BioTabs Bio PK 5-8.
Just ordered a pump and hope it will arrive in time, so i can brew the tea just fine.
Besides that they have send me a sample of Boom Boom Spray which i will use on my next Outdoor run for sure.
And on top i have gotten a sample of Silicium flash, which i actually used right away because of all the stress they had in the last week.
Pretty easy to use, 25mg of it in a hole besides the Stem and water it with 2g of Bactrex for a liter of water. It will not only help with defiencies but also with stress and the plants seem to love it right now. It's working right away, which comes pretty handy when growing organic.
I did defoliate a lot this week, actually i think this is called lollipopping already. (I know too much leaves gone) I really gave my best to make the canopy as full and as even as possible.
Last time i messed it up, i left too many little side branches which ended up as popcorn buds. Because of this i had to trim a lot and had a lot of smaller buds.
Back then i didn't knew that those smaller branches will lead to nothing, i thought removing grow underneath would be enough, as long as everything hits the light.
So this time i will try it like this, i want all or most branches to stretch and end up with colas, just a few popcorn buds here and there. Not like last time when 3/5 weren't stretching at all.
Like i said last week, topping three times was too much, i know this was a mistake and now with all the fat side branches you can see it for yourself.
The topped "main" branches are still so weak compared to the side branches and in total they are way too much combined with this many side branches for one plant.
None of these Plants will produce more then 75g for sure, so it's an overkill to have that many branches and nothing will grow out the main branches anyway then.
So i did cut a few of the most weakest "main" branches, so every plant has like 12 branches in total now.
I know this wasn't optimal but it is what it is, at least i learned something. Only wasted some Veg Time because of unnecessary toppings. Can't wait to main line next time, so i waste less time on unecessery grow.
See you next week :)
And im in first flowering Week since last sunday, so far i really can't complain. Everything looks healthy and fine.
Plant 3 is still kinda weaker/slower and Plant 4 seems to want to do some sativa things and grows up like hell but oh well, at least Plant 1 and 2 just grow as they should.
This week i made the Bio Tabs compost tea for the first time and the plants seem to love it. Each one received 500ml if it.
Can't wait to see the results at the end of the run. Again thanks to Bio Tabs for sending it out so i can test it.
Humidity was pretty high because of constant rain this week, but it seems like i have made it through it, now just to make sure to finish this run before the summer heat will come.
I removed a few leaves here and there because they were stacking or blocking light, i will defoliate in 1-2 weeks for real.
Sadly Plant 4 needed an even higher stool then last weeks, so it's on the same height as the others. It was getting not enough light this deep down. That is also because why the scrog net does look like it does right now. I try to make it more "appealing" tonight, but i don't want to break anything and it works like it should right now, so yeah it looks stupid but it's alright.
See you next week and thanks for all the likes and comments. 😍🙌
Second Week of flowering finished. It's not perfect but i think it's already better then on my first grow.
I really tried my best to keep the plants / the canopy on a even level, but plant 4 is giving me a real hard time.
She is stretching like hell, i hope this is over now, since im running out of stuff i can put under them and also every time i risk damaging something.
I did some defolation this week, will do the rest next week.
This Week all of them got 10ml of BioTabs Bio PK 5-8 mixed in 1L of Water. So far there are no signs of any problems or deficiencies so im quiet happy.
See you next week :)
It’s all experience, the good and the bad 😸
You’re definitely going to have a full tent once they start stretching 👀
Looks good my man, you can always remove a couple more of the smaller branches if it starts getting too crowded 🤷♂️😸
