Hi everyone and welcome back to the mini tent🌱💚
I've been growing northern lights in the past, this indica superstar classic is definitely one of my favorites! That mellow full body relaxation...just perfect🤤
So after growing the original NL from Sensi seeds, an amazing strain no doubt, I've also tried their auto version of the NL, and frankly I was disappointed by the potency of the Autoflower version of their NL(although that was 5-6 years ago so maybe they got the Auto version stronger by now)
Now it's time to try Fast Buds auto version of the famous Northern lights 🤓
Note* this grow was made by my brother alongside with the Bruce banner auto grow,
The Bruce banner got the 60*60 tent, while the NL was grown by my brother in the 40*40 mini tent,
This grow was my brother's first grow ever! (Under my watch and instructions of course;)
But let me tell you right now, they say that Northern light is the best strain for a first time grower, and they are RIGHT!
This plant came out to be simply amazing! No other way to describe the end result with this grow!
Beginner's luck or the perfect strain, who knows 😉🤘🏽

The seed was super quick to pop! after a bit more then 24h in a warm (but not too warm!) paper towel we saw the tail coming out,
And about 30 hours later little NL came out to the world 🤩
Until next week everyone 🌱
Week 1 went great! except for the fact I didn't took any photos besides day 1😅😅 I'll have lots more photos to show in the upcoming weeks though 🤘🏽
The important stuff for the week:
- lights are at around 40w, with a distance of 50 cm from the little seedling
- I keep making sure the coco is well hydrated, I water when needed with my seedling solution for the first week, with e.c of 0.9, and ph at 6.2
- I keep trying to keep the humidity high, since I don't have another humidifier it can be challenging.
- I folire spray about 3 times a day
That's it for now,
Until the next week everyone 🌱
2 weeks of veg for the Northern lights 🤘🏽💚
Nothing to report for now, everything looks great,
Not enough pics I'm afraid,
Pictures are from day 9 & 10.
- I make sure the temperatures will be higher then 22, which is quite a challenge this time a year, the best growth rate during seedling/early veg will be at 25-27 temps to my opinion, but I'm happy with 24 as well;)
- I keep the coco wet all the time, with early veg nutrient solution, with e.c at 1.0 -1.1
Light are at 60w (half strength) for now, and everything looks great 🙂
Until next week everyone 🤘🏽🌱
Week 3 has passed by smoothly and as expected 🙏🏽🌱
The plant was topped at it's 5th node on day 15, other then that the plant hasn't been touched.
Growth phase is great and on schedule for an upcoming nice and big plant ;)
Until next week everyone 🌱🤘🏽
Week 4 came, and things started to shift fast! 🤩
After the early topping on day 15, the plant had more then enough time to recover and grow vigorously, branching out, and fill up the little 40*40 space 🌌
Everything seem super healthy and the growth rate is great in that small 2 gallon pot ;)
- we do however fighting with cold temps, at times the temps drops down to 17c when lights are off but this NL is taking it like a champ! 🏆
- as always in this stage we did some training to the plant, lst/hst, spreading the branches throughout the tent and getting it ready for flowering stage
- watering as usual, never let my coco dry out, and trying to keep water capacity in the pot as full as possible with drain to waste, that way I keep the E.C perfect in the medium.
Until next week everyone 🌱
Week 5, first week of flowering 🌱🍓
Unfortunately I didn't took any photos this week, the photos are from day 37 .
At this week the plant started it flowering stage, and it was obvious by the good stretch it showed!
- this plant is drinking like crazy! 3 times a day, if not the leaves start to get droopy right away.
The root zone is at full capacity, the roots are literally breaking through the fabric pot all over, and not in the normal way...😳 This plant is super vigorous!
- we kept E.C at 1.3
- we keep watering drain to waste of course, to clean up any salt buildup.
- we continue with some lst and some super cropping
Next week the photos will come back 😅
Until the next week everyone 🌱
Week 6 for the northern lights auto 🌱
2 weeks into flower and this plant grows simply amazing!
She takes the cold temperatures like it's nothing (at times temps drops below the 20s), she drinks like crazy, 3 times and sometimes 4 times a day! Root zone is off chart with explosive growth that's obvious just by looking at the poor fabric pot that almost exploding with roots 😅
- keeping EC on check making sure it's not higher then 1.3 -1.4, for that I keep water with lot's of run off at least once a day.
- we still lst the plant and organizing the canopy
- light is on full capacity at 120w
Until next week everyone 🌱
Week 8,
(skipped photos for week 7, sorry about that)
This Northern lights auto is just an amazing plant! 😁🌱
This week we also faced cold temps and high humidity inside the tent, and again this plant stay true to it's name and seem to not mind the weather, it keeps growing vigorously, drink like crazy, and bud keep developing by the day! Incredible 👏🏽
- We keep the e.c low at 1.3 - 1.4
- ph kept at 6.2 mostly
- we keep watering run to waste 3 times a day, this plant is super thirsty and keep asking for feeding.
- we defoliate the plant when needed
The 40*40 tent is completely full by now, and now it's time for the buds to swollen and get bigger and denser 😎🏽
Until next week everyone 🌱
Week 9 for the Northern lights auto🌱
Bud development is at it's peak! Flowers grows bigger and the plant is doing Great 👌🏽😋
Despite cold temperatures and sometimes very high humidity levels that can reach sometimes to 80% - this plant is doing great!! Growth rate is perfect and the buds keep swelling by the day 👏🏽👏🏽🏆
At this point all we do is watering as needed, keeping an eye on EC runoff, and defoliating here and there, and trying to keep temps and humidity in control 😅
Until next week everyone 🌱
Week 10 for the NL,
This plant is simply one of the easiest strains out there!
Temps are way too low and humidity is way to high at times, but this plant just keep on flourishing, getting bigger and bigger, trichomes are all over, and the smell is just incredible!
The candy/fruity like smell is taking over the room as soon as I open the little tent🤤
This is definitely one of the most pleasant aromas I've came across lately,
Not something I remember from the original NL but definitely a good thing to have😋
Looks like the plant is close to finish now, a week + and we're at the finish line🤞🏽
Until the next week everyone 🌱
Week 11 was the last week before harvest 😋
This last week was full of surprises with this auto NL,
Before day 70 I thought this plant has 2 more weeks to go before she'll finish, then she suddenly got into full gear and started to fade out while still getting bigger every day!
On day 72 we realized I'm late with the flushing, so we flushed her thoroughly, and gave her only water since,
The buds are just stunning! Started to get darker and purple from the cold night temps,
But what makes this plant so amazing is definitely the smell! just an amazing candy/fruity smell that filled up the room once the tent got open! This definitely not the low odor this strain should have, but no complaining on my side! Hah
Day 76 was harvest day,
The end results I will post separately of course,
Until harvest day everyone 🎉🌱
Day 76 was harvest day! 🎉
The plant was flushed thoroughly for the last 4 days,
By harvest time this plant got this very dark green and purple shades all over, I guess it had to do with the cold temperatures it got exposed to.
The plant was harvested and put to dry for around 5 days, then into the jars for curing.
this plant delivered it all!
- Amazing resistance to Cold, at times temps got as low as 15c and humidity got well over 80% yet this plant continued to grow and buds kept getting bigger and denser like nothing is bothering this amazing strain. Absolutely top choice when it comes to ease of grow and resistance to the elements.
Highest yield, amazing smell and taste, best indica effect, this Northern lights auto has it all and become a new favorite of mine! 💚🌱
