Four 3.9 gal Autopot set-up, first time with Airbases and Airdomes - excited to see what this combo does! Hand water until roots are established enough to turn on reservoir and Airdomes, 2 weeks ish?
Through the first week on these 2 strains, everyone looks happy. Added first feeding with today's watering. Hand watering for at least another week before turning on the Autopot reservoir.
Day 14 from seed and both strains are growing well! Went too low on the ph for a couple waterings so there's some twisting on the older growth. Cookies Gelato is not digging this ph level. Low humidity isn't helping either. Being more diligent moving forward on keeping ph level above 5.9 for both strains since they'll be on the same reservoir before the end of the week.
21 days from seed. Got the ph issue resolved it seems, so turned on the Autopot reservoir 2 days ago. Now we growin'!!!
Did light defoliation on the bottom branches to help with airflow for both strains. Turning on the Airdomes at the end of this week and looking to top. Don't usually add clay pebbles as a top dressing but I've got a ton left from before I bought the Airbases so I don't really need them now. Hoping they'll help with some water retention?
Been a busy week! Topped and stripped quite a bit from all 4 plants, turned on the air pump or the Airdomes today since we're at 4 weeks from seed. Adding some supplemental CO2 sometime this week and hopefully get some LST in depending how fast they grow.
35 days old. Branches were finally long enough to use LST clips this week to spread out some branches in addition to my usual light defoliation. Added a small diy co2 generator, helping in my other tent when looking at previous grows so - adding one here too. Been keeping the DLI around 45, increasing to 55 in the coming days.
7 weeks old. Cookies Gelato are both strong and doing extremely well! They're also at 14" so doing the last bit of big defoliation and LST before we flip next week, more than likely. Cherry Pie isn't responding how I'd like, but...this tent is flipping to 12/12 this week regardless . They clearly haven't liked my nute mix like the CG's have.
Made the flip today, just couldn't wait on the Cherry Pies any longer - tallest one is only 12". Pretty sure the pH issues they had is what caused them to be so stunted. Probably putting the last seed of the 3 seeds on the AC Infinity wicking base and see if I can do better later this year.
Cookies Gelato has been pushing through since they popped. 18" and 16" tall, truly can't wait any longer to flip to 12/12. Definitely doing this one in an Auotpot again
Did the last bit of defoliating for everyone a few days ago...gonna be a long 9 weeks.
Starting week 2 of flower. Haven't run the Autopots in several months so it should be easier. But this has been my most difficult run on this system. Sure it was my pH issues that have caused all my problems due to not being familiar with silica. Clearly wasn't using it properly for most of the grow. With the grow schedule I have planned this year, I didnt have the time the Cherry Pies needed to get back to growing properly. Lesson learned.
Gonna go with "not all your grows are gonna be winners". We're starting day 21 of flower in here. Pretty sure I confused myself last week and mixed everything at a half dose like I do for my autos. Some browning on the CP's and the CG have a pretty bad potassium deficiency. Neither are happy with me right now. Did a pretty big flush yesterday and made sure to be careful on my dosage this week and we'll see how they respond. Just need to get them to harvest and we can try again!
Starting week 4 of flower. pH lockout did a number on the girls. I say that every week but it has been nearly impossible to bounce back from. Everyone's looking ok going into this week, definitely a lot of nitrogen is needed. But after a week of trying to add a little more Grow, it seems like more stress so I'm letting them go. See what happens? Lol.
Haven't had the easiest time managing this grow. Loved the Emerald Harvest line on previous runs. This was my first time using them in con unction with the Autopots and it's been a rough go.
Best advice to any new growers: check your pH and ppm. Invest in the meters. It is worth it! I had no idea that even at a half dose of the EH line, the pH would be as high as 6.5. Had a very difficult time keeping it below this even with multiple additions of pH down. It's what it is.
Starting week 6 of flower, the one Cookies Gelato looks like it'll be done MUCH sooner than the other 3. Sure it's all part of my pH and nute lockout that I had. Colors starting to look like it's supposed to, don't usually dose Grow this high/far into flower but everything was turning yellow too fast. Reservoir + pH = Critical.
Coming down the home stretch. One of the Cookie Gelato phenotypes will be ready to chop any day now. The other one still has a good 3 weeks. Same with both Cherry Pies. Sure it has to do with light distance since there's such a variation. Should've transplanted the Cherry Pies before flip and just run the 2 Cookies Gelato. Oh well, all should be an amazing smoke!
Going to end up doing a staggered harvest on the one CG since she is so far along compared to the others. Kind of wish I cloned her. Weaning down on nutes, just boom and booster till harvest.
