PRO-MIX HP Test

LaFrenchCulture WEEK 2 @promix_growers_eur The growth is fast and healthy, the soil retains moisture available for the roots. One strong point I note is that it allows me to space out the waterings a bit more. Watering with tap water, which is now replaced by rainwater, seems more logical when working with living soil. The watering frequency is 2 to 3 waterings per week, not measured, using a sprayer since the plants will be fine with what I give them. At this stage, there's no need to water heavily, risking overwatering. My experience makes it easier for me; growing is starting to feel familiar, I learn something new every day, but I have the gardener's instinct, I can assure you. With the repetition of actions and time spent cultivating, it becomes child's play. A passionate child and grower for almost 10 years. The LED panels are kept at a distance of 40 centimeters with power set to 35% on the dimmer. The climate is warm and humid and hardly varies, which is an asset for successful growth. In the last photo, you can see the humidifier with algae forming inside the tank, which requires regular cleaning to avoid ending up with a marine bottom that would ruin the device. At the time this post is written, the plants are finishing week 3; we will meet again in a few days for the next part of the adventure. LaFrenchCulture WEEK 3 @promix_growers_eur The big news of the week is that a wheat mulch has been added. I know it's not the best mulch, but it will still help protect the soil from light and allow fungi and microbial life to thrive. Two Critical Cherry @tramuntanaseeds arrived a bit later (where the lid is placed). Companion plants like Borage, Chamomile, and Marigolds have been sown and will provide their benefits throughout the grow. The humidity level is a bit lower on average this week (60%), but overall everything is fine. The high porosity PRO-MIX HP soil is really great; it guarantees less watering, and I confirm that every time I check the moisture with a finger in the soil, I always have that feeling of moisture that bothers me. It takes some time to adapt to the watering, but it's simple and brings positive results since the amount of water to handle is less. Water is really what can make you work a lot in hemp cultivation—filling reserves, mixing nutrients, or making compost tea; watering all of that takes a lot of time. As you know, at La French Culture, we try to do our best with what we have, always with a lot of love and passion. But without a part of the community, I wouldn't be here, so I want to thank you all. Those who have contributed closely or from afar to my growth in growing. All I have to do here is to share my experience as best as I can to help those who need a model, but also to receive all constructive criticism because I'm still far from the level I would like to reach in cultivation. LaFrenchCulture WEEK 4 @promix_growers_eur Hey, it's been a while! Yeah, it's normal, for the past few weeks we've been hard at work in the garden, sowing, planting, repotting, clearing the ground, adding straw, making plant teas, basically working for life and especially for the soil. On the French culture side, everything is growing by the book. We're adding a nutrient solution of blackstrap molasses from @terralba_livingsoil to the oxygenated and dechlorinated water, which will feed the bacteria and fungi. It's also rich in nitrogen and potassium as well as vitamins and trace elements. The plants will benefit from a compost tea a bit later; in the meantime, they'll be happy with waterings. Our PRO-MIX HP soil doesn't require any nutrients for about 4 weeks. Plus, mixed with Terralba amendments, our soil is rich in essential elements for plant growth. After the 4 nodes on our plants, we practiced topping to encourage the development of the buds later on. Companion plants like alfalfa, marigolds, red clover, and borage have been sown. Take care of your seeds!

LaFrenchCulture WEEK 5 @promix_growers_eur Little invasion of gnats, a neem oil foliar spray was applied beforehand and I think it has greatly helped slow down these pests. Knowing that the larvae develop in the soil and in humidity, I preferred to focus on dryness (not extreme, that's very bad for the roots) to further curb the invasion. A few plants are affected but the invasion is controlled; I could use mites to combat this but I preferred to prioritize using products I had in the cupboard (I forgot to mention that I also tried to introduce spiders into the space and some are thriving). I enjoy observing the phenotypes that are most resistant to diseases. We will probably keep a clone when we prune the plants before they transition to flowering. The PRO-MIX HP soil is really effective for limiting watering, and I've lost my habits since I'm coming out of hydro culture; I need to get back into the rhythm of soil. Two to three waterings per week have been enough so far (I've gone from 10cl to 50cl since the beginning). The companion plant seedling tray is doing well after germination in PRO-MIX HP soil; we are still waiting three weeks before they join their friends.

LaFrenchCulture WEEK 6 @promix_growers_eur It's repotting week! And we're using the 15L geotextile pots from @alchimiaweb. You can see that our mothers need a bit more space, some signs are showing on the leaves. A good watering with compost tea after this repotting has done them a world of good, you'll see the images in the next post. The stretch has arrived, and that's why we're repotting; there will need to be space for the roots. In terms of climate, we’re keeping it stable, the room temperature has been intentionally lowered to 24°C, and you can feel that the outside temperature is warming up because it's the LEDs that are maintaining the temperature inside now. It’s starting to smell more and more like hemp, and it’s a pleasure to wake up and go smell those aromas. We decided to do some main lining (not 100%) with the accessories designed for this purpose from @magic_deuwi; these are "guides" to place on the stems to give them a precise direction. This allows us to light up the entire canopy but also boosts the plants' development; basically, it acts like "Low Stress Training." LaFrenchCulture WEEK 7 @promix_growers_eur After repotting, a good watering with compost tea was given to the plants. This tea was brewed for about 24 hours with black molasses, worm compost, guanogali, and Epsom salt from Terralba. They are asking for more and more water, which is a good sign; some are starting to show pistils, indicating their femininity. The transition to flowering is coming; currently, the plants have been growing for 42 days. A few minor deficiencies are noticeable; I think they needed an extra watering with compost tea during the growth phase. But I wanted them to use the nutrients available in the soil first before adding too much. These minor deficiencies are being addressed with the compost tea watering. No net for this session; we are simply adding stakes along with the hand-lining accessories presented in the previous post. The companion plants enjoying the climate are developing very well in the PRO-MIX HP soil blocks. Since germination, they have been getting plenty of water to keep them in great shape, and they will be transplanted in a few days with our feminized ones.

LaFrenchCulture WEEK 8 @promix_growers_eur It's the week of transitioning to flowering and you'll see in the upcoming posts that it's simply beautiful. Every session, we always take the same pleasure in watching the plants thrive and grow more until the final bouquet. With our help, they feel even better in the growing space. A foliar spray gifted by @alchimiaweb in an order was sprayed after the transition to flowering. The BAC foliar spray increases chlorophyll production and protects the leaves before/after an attack, it repels pathogens and helps improve plant health. I recommend spraying before the night cycle to avoid damaging the leaves with the LED panels. A few gnats are still present, but the plants have already resisted attacks before. Neem oil and the BAC foliar spray have helped withstand these attacks, and today they don’t seem to harm the grow anymore. Watering is now more substantial, about 1 L every 3 days, and the PRO-MIX HP soil continues to do its job. We can see that before watering, the plants aren't drooping thanks to the soil retaining some moisture due to its high porosity and also the mycorrhizal system that has probably developed well in our fabric pots. The intensity of the panels is manually increased until reaching 100%. We're currently at 60%. The companion plants are now taking up space in the pots, and that's a very good indicator for watering! They will also help our females stay away from pests, so it's definitely a plus to plant other flowers in the pots 😎

LaFrenchCulture WEEK 9 @promix_growers_eur The stretch continues the plants growing visibly and we see that they use the nutrients available in the soil. No signs of deficiencies or particular illnesses, the climate is rather stable despite the start of the heat. Growing indoors during the summer can be complicated, due to the high temperatures that our plants can experience. We will still leave the cultivation space running and hope for suitable results during this period. For now, the gray and rainy days give us time to properly finish this superb living soil session. We still have about 5 weeks left before we plan to harvest, so we may start the next run in advance to save time. Having two cultivation spaces is a major asset for ensuring permanent harvests and thus never having to return to the black market to obtain supplies. It also allows us to experiment with cloning to select varieties with properties that suit us. With the surplus, make products based on heads and leaves such as drysift, bubble hash, rosin, oil, etc. And thus benefit from a wide spectrum of the benefits of the plant, pure or concentrated, matured flavors. The Terralba and Pro-Mix HP combo is perfect, on the one hand, we have a quality soil that supports the life of the soil and on the other, we have all the natural elements to amend this soil already alive. I repeat, but I think Pro Mix potting soil is perfect for beginners who can sometimes over or under water, because it does not dry out completely and its high porosity allows for greater water retention when drying. consistent watering. SEMAINE 9 @promix_growers_eur Le stretch continue les plantes poussant à vue d’œil et on voit qu’elles se servent des nutriments disponibles dans le sol. Pas de signes de carences ou maladies particulières, le climat est plutôt stable malgré le début des chaleurs. La culture en intérieur durant l’été peut s’avérer compliquée, à cause des hautes températures que peuvent subir nos plantes. Nous allons tout de même laisser l’espace de culture en marche et espérer des résultats convenables durant cette période. Pour l’instant, les jours gris et pluvieux nous laissent le temps de terminer correctement cette superbe session living soil. Il nous reste encore 5 semaines environ avant d’envisager une récolte, nous allons peut-être lancer le run suivant à l’avance pour gagner du temps. Avoir deux espaces de culture est un atout majeur pour assurer des récoltes permanentes et ainsi ne jamais devoir retourner vers le marché noir pour s’approvisionner. Ça permet aussi d’expérimenter le clonage pour sélectionner les variétés avec des propriétés qui nous correspondent. Avec les surplus fabriquer des produits à base de têtes et feuilles comme le drysift, bubble hash, rosin, huile… Et ainsi profiter d’un large spectre des bienfaits de la plante, des saveurs pures ou concentrées, maturées. Le combo Terralba et Pro-Mix HP est parfait, d’un côté, on a un terreau de qualité qui va dans le sens de la vie du sol et de l’autre, on a justement tous les éléments naturels pour venir amender ce sol déjà vivant. Je le répète, mais je pense que le terreau Pro Mix est parfait pour les débutants qui peuvent parfois sur-arroser ou sous-arroser, car il ne sèche pas complètement et sa haute porosité permet une rétention d’eau plus importante lors de l’arrosage conséquent. Ce qui permet aux plantes de profiter plus durablement de l’humidité du sol. Depuis la 4e semaine de croissance, un thé de compost est pulvérisé sur le sol une fois par semaine, ce qui demande peu d'efforts pour le nombre de plantes à gérer.

LaFrenchCulture WEEK 10 @promix_growers_eur The one and only size of the session was made this week, for some plants that have a fast flowering, it was a bit late, but none showed any signs of weakness. The whole crop received directly a compost tea after that, because it is important to make a nutrient intake after training to compensate for the stress caused. Genetics today react well to these manipulations because breeders prepare them for this and we thank them. Generally speaking, ca**** is a very perennial plant that will be handled quite easily and pruning is a way to increase its yield (or decrease it if it is not done at the right times and in the right places on the plant). Going back to compost tea, it contains vermicompost, black molasses, flour worm guano and nettle manure. Living soil is a method that I like, I had never really practiced a grow in 100% living soil, the advantage is to have a soil already ready to feed and help the plants to start the growth to arrive in bloom with all the NPK elements and much more thanks to our compost teas poured 1x per week. In terms of smells in the greenhouse, it smells so good freshness! And on the buds and stems, we can clearly differentiate the varieties, singular smells that always excite our brain when they pass through the nostrils. Fruit formation is underway, it is the beginning of the show, enjoy comfortably the photos that arrive...

LaFrenchCulture WEEK 11 @promix_growers_eur Here are the photos of the 3rd week of flowering, it starts perfectly and lets us already observe the different genetic expressions of the crop. Some have wider leaves, others thinner, lighter and darker colors… Each plant has its features that we appreciate more or less and that sometimes surprise us during the tasting. We can’t wait to find out what our Pro-Mix HP growing medium with Terralba Living Soil natural amendments will deliver to us during inhalation. Certainly an authentic taste thanks to the living, natural soil, and a smoke/steam much purer than that obtained from a black market plant. The traceability of a flower is very important to us. Growing in live soil is even more affordable for amateurs, because during planting, the tasks to accomplish are simple and require little effort. The way plants receive nutrients is effective, compost tea is a technique that is spreading around the world and many growers have already adopted it. It provides a very large number of microorganisms promoting the development of roots, stems, leaves, buds, resistance to stress and diseases. When you work in living soil you create a symbiosis between soil and plants which gives very good results on the whole crop, it also helps to limit its environmental footprint, because the resources come from nature. To summarize our actions over the last weeks and weeks to come we have and must water, prepare T.C.O, prune, control the health of plants, check the humidity of the pots.

LaFrenchCulture WEEK 12 @promix_growers_eur Head formation is progressing and the grow room smells very strong. A problem occurred on a LusoDream plant, it became hermaphroditic. This situation has already happened in previous crops and given the advanced stage of flowering we have carefully removed the appearance of male sex on the plant. Be careful, we always accept that the crop will go well, but different incidents can happen and it is important to know how to deal with them to preserve the harvest. Normally, it is advisable to remove the herma plant to prevent other plants from becoming infected in their turn, but given our previous experience with a herma plant, we decided to let the flowering finish, taking the risk that other plants become herma in turn. The entire culture is monitored to eliminate any appearance of male sex. The plant in question has not undergone stress which could explain this change and it could also come from a genetic disturbance. In the crop where this happened, we removed the male sexes and in the final harvest, we found only two seeds. This is not a technique that I read on the Internet, I applied it wanting to “fight” against hermaphroditism or a genetic disorder. Science is not that simple, we know, but our first experiment did not give us a catastrophic result contrary to what one might have believed. And we have therefore saved several grams of a trip to the trash. Today there are no other contaminated plants in flowering and the advanced stage allows us to avoid disaster, because if this had happened during the first weeks of flowering, the entire crop would have been in danger. The entire crop is magnificent to observe and for some the harvest is getting closer and closer.
