This is my first outdoor grow and yes I am in a legal state. For the past three weeks they have been in an indoor grow tent with an 18/6 schedule. They germinated fairly quickly and were transplanted to red solo cups with holes in them set in trays so I could feed them from the bottom and encourage root growth. Their root ball had taken up the entire cup so I figured it was time to transplant. Plus, temperatures look to remain above freezing from here on out.
Soil in the area is mostly clay so I planted using 1 part MiracleGro potting mix, 1 part MiracleGro seed starter and 1 part MiracleGro performance organics. I also charged the soil with Fox Farms fertilizers, specifically Bush Doctor, Big Bloom and Grow Big. The area receives most of its sun in the morning and is fenced in, protected from large herbivores such as deer.
