To start, I used the paper towel method and kept it in a dark place at room temperature (avg. 19-20 C°).
After 24 hours, nothing was noticeable. The next day in the morning (~40 hours), I checked and saw the first picture, fantastic, the life begins!
The same day in the evening (~54 hours), I moved them to the soil (I read that I should do that then the sprout about 1 cm long, move it to a soil facing down, about 1 cm deep).
Directly into 8L textile pots, where I prepared Biobizz Light Mix a few days before (again, I read that I need to water the soil at least a day before first use).
I didn't add any fertilizer, as the soil came already pre-fertilized and according to my newbie knowledge autoflowers do not need anything extra.
Then begins the slowest 48 hours. I was checking it every few hours and nothing was visible. Finally, it grows out of the soil and becomes barely visible (~102 hours).
By the morning (~110 hours) it was already more than 1 cm above soil level (photo 2).
Over the next few days, it stretches a lot. I was worried a lot and slightly regretted that I planted them immediately, probably it was a sense to wait until mid or end-April.
Continue to stretch a lot, I already know that they need more light, but can't do anything to help... they already planted. Will add more soil later to help in support.
As was expected, it became too long and started falling, I added support yesterday. Almost no water was added this week because the soil is still wet.
Also, I was away the whole week and the temperature inside was around 15-18 (night-day), this could be a reason why there is almost no water evaporating.
Honestly, I already doubt that I will have any harvest out of it. Any experience like that?
This week was quite good, it became stronger and grew more leaves.
I added about 2 cm of soil to slightly reduce stem length (and because my pot allows that).
Also, you can see a yellow sensor in the pot, it's a b-Parasite ZigBee-based DIY plant monitor, which reports temperature, moisture and humidity. I want to use it to help with watering, let's see if it helps.
It continues to grow and requires way more water now. About half a litre every 3rd day.
I decided to bend it slightly using bending clips and then created a support cage , will try to bend it more to keep it lower.
Leaves are slightly yellowish on the edges, come to the conclusion that it's because of high soil moisture during the previous two weeks. So, I allowed it to dry even more.
But to avoid other possible issues, bought Ph Minus and reduced water Ph to 1 level (from 7 to 6) before flowering. Also, skipped all nutrients this week.
As you can see, pistils are already yellow, but the trichomes are still clear :(
Also on the lower leaves I noticed some black bugs, first tried to use Neem oil on they, but then decided to completely remove all affected leaves.
I don't know, it's 14 full weeks now or even more... today a USB microscope arrived from Ali, trichomes still looks transparent and no sign on yellowing leaves.
Looked under USB-microscope and there are already lot's of brown trichomes. Still, many clear ones in between :/
Decided to flush and wait for another week.
115 days from seed to harvest (or exactly 16 weeks from sprout to harvest).
Probably, it's not yet perfectly ready, however, I feel like it's been a while with no improvements, only more trichomes become brown. In the last 3 weeks when I observe it under the microscope, nothing changes.
The outcome: east-facing windows in cold and rainy German summer (especially this year) is not the best place to grow weed.
You got almost nothing out of it.😮💨The equipment cost more than if you had simply bought ready-made cannabis.
Look out to grow in the right season and Region
