Week 4: So i'm finally back at week four, this is where my last plants got really sick and i had to cut them off. So i'm finally over the hump again and things look much better than last time.
Day 22: ChemPie is a few days older than the buddah, because of failed germination, so the ChemPie is the last survivor of this massacre. The Laughing Buddah is a freebie i got.
The plans for this week are just letting them recover. After that i'll let them grow another week and then switch to flower.
Day 25: I did a good job just letting them chill for the first four days. Today i needed to get my hands on and do some LST and try to spread them out a little bit. And i broke some branches... But i fixed them with some tape and hope they'll recover soon. They drink 0.8l per Day at the moment. I do water them every 2 Days with nutrient water. They also get microbes once a week.
Notes:
05.04: Topping LB: Pots12l: 4kg/3.8kg
06.04- Pots 12l: 3.5/3.7 empty - 4.3/4.3kg watered 0.6+0.8l PH 6.6
08.04. - Pots 12l: 3,3/3.4kg empty, 4.3/4.4kg watered 1l 6.5PH
09.04. - Pots 12l: 3.6/3.8kg empty, 5.0/5.1kg watered 1.4l PH6.5
10.04 -- Pots 12l: 4.5kg/ 4.6kg
11.04 -- Pots 12l: 3.9/4.1kg empty, watered 0.3l
12.04 -- Pots 12l: 3.9/3.9kg
Day 28: The stretchy gals completed their first month of grow and still look quite healthy and show some good growth. They drink around a litre per day, get food with every watering and some microbes once a week. Both of them made quite a mileage in growth. The Laughing Buddah recovered well from topping and the ChemPie survived my first fimming perfectly.
Last weeks focus was recovery from the topping and doing some LST to spread out the branches. I also plucked some fanleaves and broke some stems on both of them.. They seemed to manage the stress quite good, despite the ChemPie being a bit droopy today.
The branches on these to girls are much harder to "organise" than the branches of the "Green Crack Punch" i'm running. Because of their sativa nature, i feel like i need to pay extra attention to do LST for height control besides organizing the branches for a flat canopy.
I want to give them another week in veg and switch the lights to 12/12 next weekend. So while i try to keep things simple and just stick to the basics without overthinking too much, i'll just let them grow and adjust LST to have a good base and kind of an even canopy for flower.
I definitely want to keep an eye on the ChemPie, but at the moment i do not expect a lot of trouble this week. Just managing their height may be a challenge further down the road. But because i have been ultra conservative when it comes to height during all runs, i try to be a little braver and take the extra week to see what happens. We'll see, but i'm curious!
Day 35: So today i'll switch to 12/12 and iniate the transition to flower. ChemPie is still droopy as fuck. I have no idea why. She looks thirsty, but it does not change, even when watered. I'm gonna check soil PH when the meter arrives next week and see if something is wrong with the PH in the root zone.
But the Buddah is chilling and vibing. So i'll see what will happen and let them go. I'm very curious about the stretch. Hope i'll have enough room!
Week 7, Second week of the transition to flower. The plants are on the bright side, but doing fine growth wise. They are stretching a lot, i readjust LST every other day. The Chempie is more difficult to train due to the fimming, but i guess its fine. Its still droopy but i got the impression that she's doing a bit better now.
Environment is okayish. RH is often a bit lower than 60%, but i have no space left for my humidifier. So we go with what we have. Temps hover around 26°, Soil PH is 6.4 and they get water every two days.
First day of week 8.
The ladies stretched quite a bit and seem pretty okay despite their pale appearance. Seems like we officially arrived at the flowering stage. Somehow i seem always to get problems roght at the transition to flower and i can't get my head around what goes wrong.
Environment: Temps between 26 and 27° during daytime, 20° at night. RH between 55 and 70%, Soil PH is 6.5. I feed at around 600-800 ppm, they show signs of nutrient burn anyway so it should be too high. Watering every two days with PHd solution at 6.5-6.8PH, just water when dry.
But well, i try to do my best to keep them alive and happy. But i'm totally open for tips!
So we managed to get to week four since the switch to 12/12 and the plants are looking quite good i'd say! The Chempie is a chunk taller than the buddah and they both are making some buds! Exciting times!
Welcome to week 10! We finally made it to double digit weeks and i'm very happy how it is going! Both of the plants are putting on some budmass and they are filling up the growspace very nicely.
They both started to smell more intense and its a joy to open up the tent. 🤤 Lets hope this week will be as good as the last week! 🌱🌞🍀
We made it to week 11 and the sixth week after the switch to 12:12! The Chempie got a lot of yellowing fanleaves, while the soil ph is at 6.7. I think it should be way to early for this to be natural. So we gotta check on her regularly. But besides that the plants built themselves some nice buds. Both are running well and the smell is on point! I'm really hyped to try these to strains and hope they'll smoke as good as they smell. I hope the next week will be smooth! Have a nice weekend! 🌱🌞🍀
Week 12 in general and week 7 since the switch to 12/12. The plants look amazing and both got a beautiful purple appearance. Chempie got early atumn going on, a bit too early for my taste, but i'll keep an eye on her.
They both smell incredible but very different. Laughing buddy got some tropical fruity flavours, while is rather complex. Some gassy, sweet smells and some oomph. I really dig them both in this phase!
I'll start to monitor trichome development during this week. Laughing buddah and ChemPie take longer to finish than the green crack punch in the same tent, but they are keeping up very well. I'll have to find a good middle way for harvest because the tent is the only place where i can hang them for drying.
But i'm very optimistic it'll work out just fine. Got an additional fan and a dehumidifier to combat the higher humiditylevels. I guess it is because the tent is pretty crowded, compared to my other grows. Hopefully there won't be any mold. 🌱🌞🍀
We made it to week 8 since the flip to 12/12! So far things are still looking good, both of them seem to ripen well and i'm really looking forward to harvest. The scent of laughing buddah is mouthwatering and i'm loving it! I think i'll give them nutes for one last week and after that just give them plain water until they're done. Happy times 🌱🌞🍀
Soooooo i had to chop them early, because i found some bud rot green crack punch in the same tent. So i panicked and chopped them down to prevent the mold from spreading.
The buds on the ChemPie and the Laughing Buddha looked fine and i couldn't find any other infected parts so far. Lets hope i was able to save most of the harvest.
The trichs on these two plants were about one week away from being fully done. But it is what it is. I'm a bit sad to not being able to let them go full distance, but i hope they'll still become a pleasurable smoke. We will see 😊
The Laughing Buddah was a great to grow. I had to pull her early due to budrot in the same tent. Nice sweet tropical smells, beautiful purple appearance and easy to maintain. I'd recommend!
The Buddah dried for 7 days and i trimmed it today and packed it up for curing. So far so good, it does not look harmed by the budrot. I could not identify any spots and i hope we're good. 😊 It yielded 44 grams of dried bud, so i'm happy! Definitely hyped for curing and tasting!
The ChemPie was relatively easy to grow. Was very droopy in veg, but shined during flower. Complex smell, small hard nugs and a nice appearance. I'll run it again!
Taste/Smell: The taste and is mindblowing. Never had bud smelling so unique. Its like a chemistry kit smell with a rich and sweet undertone. Chempie is a really fitting name! The smell is really pungeant and fills up the room quickly. Not the stealthy kind of flavours! Its also leaving a nice, minty breeze in your mouth after each puff. I love it!
High: Chempie hits me hard and mellow at the same time. Its pretty potent but a creeper! You can easily smoke too much of it before you realize how baked you are. Its not racy even in high doses, it just makes you feel way to comfy. Superb! For me its the perfect weed for fighting stress or to unwind after the day.
ChemPie dried for 7 days, so trimmed her and packed her up for curing. She does not seem infected with budrot. But we'll see after the curing. She yielded 57 grams of dried bud, i'm very happy with this outcome! So far she has a great smell, rockhard buds (on the small side) and i'm really looking forward to taste it! Lets hope for the best!
