Next grow is under way. This will be my second grow, just finishing up my first RQS F1 grow with Medusa F1. Going with the trusty paper towel method to germ, in humidity dome with heat mat set to 78-80 degrees F. Weekly updates to come just like last run. Input is always welcome! Here is to another fun ride!
Started with 9 and now we are down to 8. Lost 1 Apollo to something i have never seen before, self-decapitation. All popped and were transplanted into 4in coco fiber pots. All popped from soil but the 1 Apollo was still just barely poking out. Next day i checked them the one Apollo's head was laying on top of the dirt with the cotyledon leaf's sticking out of the shell and the stem still in the dirt. Like it pulled it own head off emerging from the soil. Have never seen this before. Other then that very rare mishap these girls are taking off quick. There are currently 3 other 5gal pots that will be living in the tent for the next 2-3 weeks aswell that will be moved out doors. They are a local breeder regular photo period seeds. Here is too improving from the last grow!
Everything is running smooth and knowing my ambient temps of my tent from last grow has really allowed me to control this grow so far with alot less effort. Humidity has been a steady 75-80% so will gradually stepping them down this week to stay around 70-72% for the rest of veg. Intoduced small dose of root and stalk builder. Girls are happy!
Girls are coming along great. Couldn't be happier with the vigor and color, RQS continues to amaze me. I have high hopes for these bunch and cant wait for them to start taking off during pre flower.
Girls officaly went into pre-flower and all are confirmed female. The Orion F1 is the strongest of the bunch. All three have grown almost double the size of the other 2 strains. Epsilon is 2nd strongest growing robust and strong and the Apollo F1 have been anything but tall. Apollo F1 is a stubby bush with almost no space between nodes. I will have to defoilate here pretty heavy over the next week or so and hope the stretch comes on strong with them. Making sure to feed them supplemental nitrogen this grow after noticing a hole in N from my past feedings. Everything is on the up and up and moving along great.
So, this is the current state of the girls. The Epsilon and Orion have reached about 2ft tall while the Apollo has stayed short and bushy with a deep green hue. Did a last heavy defoil of the bottom chutes leaving some bigger bottom fan leafs that were not impacting bud sites. Airflow below the canopy is great so i can safely leave them there to feed up and hack away late flower when they have served there purpose. Fed the Epsilon and Orion today with the feeding above. Soil moisture meter has the Apollo sitting good still so it will be another day or so on them. Everything is going better than expected. Still have a slight yellowing on the new growth tips on a couple of the plants. Still not sure what is causing this but is the same as last grow. Hasn't impacted the plant or harvest at all and doesn't get too bad but still something I would like to nip in the butt.
Girls are doing great. Nice color with minimal stress is something I always like to see. The two Apollo still haven't got much taller even thoe they are well into flower. Think that they will be short like the Medusa. Orion and Epsilon are huge in the 2-3ft range. Keep the feelings around 700-800ppm with a bump up to 1000 in the next week or so. Haven't done any training with these girls besides defoil, natural christmas trees lol. Royal Queen Seeds continue to impress.
Girls are still strong. Did a mid flower flush last watering and seeing the results of it with the yellowing. Will be hammering them next feeding. Lookingnto get that big push towards the end. Apollo is still a short dark green bush but smells and looks amazing.
Girls are rounding the corner, Epsilon and Orion have a harvest date of around 60-65 days from germ. Even with the cal-mag bump leafs are still yellowing. PH is right on the money and feed around 1200-1400 ppm at this stage in flowering. Buds looks big and healthy. Going to feed them a couple more time heavy then start the flush sometime next week.
Girls are rounding the corner. Just got there last feeding of nutrients. Trics are starting to turn amber about 30-40% so a 10 day flush will follow. At the end of the flush I will check again but should be right in the sweet spot. All 3 starins of F1 have been impressive and each have there own characteristics. All 3 strains even smell a little different. Hi hopes for these girls in the next 2 weeks!
The end has come. Trics are 60% amber and girls have been flushing for 7 days. Will will flush for atleast another 3 days then go from there. But definitely see the chop coming this weekend. Could not be happier with all 3 starins. Buds are big and compact with a very sweet and skunk smell. This is going to be a big harvest for autoflowers. Will keep you guys up to date on everything going on with trimm and harvest.
Another grow down and this one was twice as nice compared to the first. These Apollo stayed short but naturally trained themselves to produce thick heavy buds at every bud sight. Apollo definitely has a distinc aroma compared to the other two strains. Will update again after dry and cure with taste and final weight.
Epsilon was a dream to watch start to finish. All 3 plants looked almost exactly alike in structure and required exactly the same attention throughout the grow. Epsilon grew tall with massive branches to support the heavy colas. Hits of citrus and mint came from these girls since week 2 of flowering.
Orion F1 was the powerhouse of the three this grow. All three outperformed everything in the tent both in size and appeal. Orion really packed on the weight the last few weeks and has a great orange/red hue to her.
