Germination
Started soaking both seeds in a glas of water on Saturday evening. Hulberry was ready to go into soil by Monday morning and already popped out on Wednesday. Purple Queen took a bit longer to germinate in water, so it went into soil 1.5 days later. It finally broke the surface Saturday morning.

Hulkberry seedling showed some yellowing of the leafs at the beginning of this week. Turns out it just was a bit too dry, but the green is coming back now. This week I finally got a proper LUX meter so I can better judge how much light he plants actually get. Looks like it was too much so far. End of Week 2: Growth started picking up. Just fed them with fertilizer and pH adjusted for the first time. Since a second pair of leaves developed on both plants, I will slowly start going up on the light intensity.

Thursday, Week3: The plants are noticeably growing quicker now. Purple Queen still is a little behind. I think I overdid it with the water during the last few feedings. So far I was only considering the pot size and not that smaller plants in large pots could easily be overwatered. Beginning of this week, after feeding on Sunday, both plants were a bit droopy and the soil stayed too wet. This also explains the slight yellow tint on the HB and why both grow a bit short so far. So I set the exhaust fan higher and lowered overall RH. Together with the higher light setting this should promote evaporation. At the next feeding I will considerably reduce the volume of water, targeting regular feeding every 2-3 days. Day19, Saturday: Looks like PQ fell over and grew a little sideways, it did not snap though. I have proped it up now and added some soil around the stem for more stability. Let's see if this one makes it. It's was a bit slow right from the start anyway.

Day22, Tuesday Week 3 Both are growing quick now. Might have to clip some of the big fan leaves blocking light to the lower bud sites. Day27, Sunday, End of the week both getting bigger an bushier and drinking a lot more. Hulkberry started going into flower, so I expect it to stretch during next week.

Hulkberry went into flowering and is stretching now. Purple Queen should follow soon. I turned up the light to 100%. Since PQ is a lot lower it should be fine even though it's not flowering yet. Friday, Day 32: Hulkberry stretching nicely, now at 52cm. I noticed some brown spots on the tops leaves. Wondering if this is a nutrient problem. Recently these leaves also started curling upward, so it also could be heat stress or light burn. Increased the distance to the light to 45cm. The timelapse also made me realise the leaves start drooping quite early each day, about 2-3 hours before lights out. So I extended the sunrise/sunset period to an hour. If this does not help I will reduce the light intensity and/or duration. Update: Just gave Hulkberry some extra Bio-Grow to counter the Nitrogen deficiency. Calmag is on the way, which will hopefully help with the brown spots. Thanks to everyone in the replies on my grow question. Looks like I underestimated how hungry she is. But it makes sense, since it is a rather fast Auto (RQS says 8-9 weeks from seed to harvest). The Bio-Bizz nutrient schedule was designed for up to 10 weeks of flowering phase. Purple queen still taking things slow. Probably needs another week before flowering. As suggested in the comments, I have propped it up to counter the height difference. Day 34, Sunday: Hulkberry got a bit of its color back after getting double doses of Bio-Grow to get some Nitrogen in there. The lower leaves are as good as gone. Also started giving some Calmag. Purple Queen looks like it's about to go into flowering phase.

She went into flower, now stretching. Set light to 100%, added Bio-Bizz Top-Max and Bio-Bloom (1ml/L each). 3 days later brown spots appeared on top fan leaves, very few also on lower fan leaves. I suspect this could be light burn or nutrient related. Any ideas? Pls help

I’m seeing two things right now with the plant. The yellowing of the older leaf is a result of Nitrogen deficiency. This should not happen till late into flower. Might want to give a dose of Nitrogen to your plant now while you are still in early flower stage. The brown spots look like the start of a Calcium Deficiency and can easily be corrected by using a CalMag product. Follow the manufacture recommendations for using and you should stop seeing them. I hope this helps.

Day35, Monday: Let's hope this week goes better than the last one. HB should hopefully get some color back with the extra fertilizer and stop the brown spots with the help of Calmag. But still it continued to grow, now almost twice the highte it was a week ago. Purple Queen start the week looking a bit droopy today and the lower leaves also turning a bit yellow. I will wait a bit longer to get rid of excess water and then up the nutrient for this one as well. On the plus side, looks like it's about to got into flowering phase now.

Week 7, Day 42: Hulkberry Removed the dead leaves on the bottom. The higher nitrogen levels seem to work, yellowing mostly stopped. Some tips are slightly burned, so the nutrients were a bit high, but at least she can still absorb them. Brown spots stopped spreading, so Calmag helped with this. The buds are coming along nicely, already showing some trichomes. Starting to look frosty ;) Purple Queen She entered flowering phase and is stretching now.

Beginning of week 7 Hulkberry Day 49 I have defoliated some of the lower fan leaves that don't get much light anymore and had turned yellow or died off anyway. After upping the nitrogen dosage to fight a suspected deficiency, the tips of the upper leaves started to turn brown, possibly nutrient burn. Unfortunately that has gotten worse over the weekend. While the tips did not die off yet, they turned quite dark. And overall it's still looking a bit pale. But at least the buds develop nicely. Hope I can keep it somewhat healthy until harvest. Purple Queen Day 49 It seems to have finished stretching now. Buds continue to grow, but no trichomes yet. Although this plant received the same nutrient mix as the Hulkberry and is a week or so behind in development, this one show only a very slight nutrient burn. Day 50 @001100010010011110 @m0use Thanks for answering my question. There is so much more info I could provide but the question form is very limited. Guess I just worried too much, since the color change coincided with the tip burn. But I'm still a bit puzzled as to how this could be caused by temps. I have records of 3 different sensors (AC Infinity Controller with probe near the top of the plant, Govee Hygrometer and the Xiaomi Soil Sensor), that all show temps never went down that low. Usually around 72-74F at night. Only 1 night, 4 weeks ago where it went down to 70F. As far as genetics go I have not seen a grow on here where this strain changed color. I cold have accidentally mixed up the seed with Purple Queen growing in the other pot, but I was extra careful not to do that. Concerning Calmag, I didn't have any at the beginning. Considering my local tap water is high in both elements (according to the local water report, last published 02/2024) I didn't think it would be necessary. Guess it was still not enough or not in a form available to the plant. Next grow I will document EC better and ad Calmag from the start. Since I'm using organic fertilizers I try to feed with hardly any runoff. But the little bit I got was around the same EC as before it went in.

I've had Nitrogen and possible Cal/Mag deficiencies 2 weeks ago. Mid last week I started noticing some burn a the tips, so i dialed nutrients back again. By this weekend the tips of the leaves curled further and turned dark. The rest still looks a bit pale, but buds look good.

That is due to temperatures dropping to sub 68F or genetics. Fall/autumn colors just as you see in tres outside. So, this wasn't caused by nutrient issues. If you had any other symptoms do consider those, but otherwise resume normal fertigation before it runs out of building blocks for growth. no worries, i've seen significantly more decimated canopies on plants that continue to develop and finish their buds. Any negative impact is probably imperceivable if you get it back on track.

Day60 - End of Week 8 Purple Queen I was about a day late on feeding at the start of this week. She ran out of nutrients and went yellow within that day. After shedding some of the old fan leaves it seems to be OK now. Trichomes are developing and already a bit cloudy. Buds look more compact and way less frosty compared to the Hulkberry. Hulkberry She is rocking autumn colors and looking frosty. Thrichomes still don't look to be cloudy, but a few amber. I expect her to be ready soon. I am leaving for vacation in about 5 to 6 weeks and I really hope they are both ready in time so I can harvest, dry and get it in Terploc bags before that. Maybe freeze some of it if there is not enough time for drying?

Beginner question: Would you say this is ready to harvest soon or should I wait some more? Leaves turning autumn colors, 3/4 of pistils turned orange. Trichomes look rather clear, but some on the head bud are amber already. RQS says 8-9 weeks. Starting week 9 soon.

If you zoom in on pictures 3, 4, and 5- you can see what appears to be black spots (absence of white/milky)in the centers of quite a few trichomes. That’s a result of what I’d call glassiness. Not sure of a better description, but anyhow, those would be the ones I would call clear (not milky). I’m not sure what you’re going for in terms of high, but for a generalization I’d say it’s a bit early yet. This combined with some pistils still being white/not receding, makes me say not yet. I would say you’re not far off though, so I’d keep checking every other day or so. If you chopped her now I’m sure you’d get some sorta high, but why not let her go to her potential, not to mention she’ll probably gain some more weight over the next week or so which is obviously a good thing

Week 9, Day 64: Hulkberry It's about ready for harvest. I still see some trichomes that are not milky , but more are turning amber now. I will give it maybe 2 more days then it's time.✂️ I started flushing, so the nutrient values above now only apply to Purple Queen. Since I don't have a second tent or a separate room, I'm planing to dry it in a cardboard box inside the grow tent. A PC fan will move the air in the box. This setup should take care of light exposure and some humidity, until the other plant is ready for harvest. Purple Queen Buds are getting fatter and more pistils are turning orange. Will probably take a few more weeks. Looking forward to see some purple in the buds.

Sorry for the late post, I was barely home the last few weeks. But before that I harvested Hulkberry on day 69... nice ;) Since I don't have a second tent, I put it in a cardboard box for drying, so it is protected from the light while the other plant is still growing. A computer fan was blowing into the box to move the air, prevent mold and aid the drying process. Since 2 weeks have already passed since that, it is dry now. Dry weight was 23,3g, but I might have dried it a little too much. Half of it is stored in a TerpLoc bag the other half in a jar with Boveda pack. I'm trying both to see which one I like better.
