Germination
2y ago
Sickone The seeds were planted in the soil to germinate on 04/08, and 3 days later, 2 out of 3 have germinated and have seen the "daylight." Seedling number 4 came 2 days later with some initial difficulties; the seed shell was shed, but there was another shell around the seedlings that it finally dropped today. Week 1: 04/08 - 04/15 18/6 light cycle Light distance 30cm (China LED 100w currently - Mars Hydro FC 1500 coming soon) LUX 7000 in 18h 16DIL 18h Temperatures between 24 and 28 degrees after a full 18h of lighting. Humidity maintained between 50 and 69%. On 04/13, I added a small fan but didn't point it directly at the plants; instead, I aimed it at the walls so the air could bounce off, allowing the little ones to slowly but surely get used to it. To maintain humidity a bit, I also hung a damp disinfected cloth at the top of the tent and keep it moist as needed since I don't want to subject my autoflowers to repotting yet, and the "dome" has become too small to regulate humidity that way. Status after the 1st week The two big ladies have now grown nearly 5cm tall and are already starting to develop their 2nd pair of leaves. The little lady has recovered well from her initial difficulties; she currently measures a good 3.5cm and seems to be focusing on the development of her leaf pairs.

Sickone Here we go into week 2 PPFD value is cranked up to 225-250 Lux is adjusted from 7k to about 8,500 - 9,000 in 18H Lamp distance remains the same for now as I think the leaves are developing excellently. Temperature is kept between 25 and 27 degrees during the day with a constant humidity of 65%+ Today, on the third day of the week, I decided to plant the ladies in their final pot, as I was advised to do so several times and unfortunately, I should have avoided this mistake from the start. - If I go for autoflowering again, I will put them directly in the final pot - A good 48h after repotting, there is a noticeable improvement in the foliage, in my opinion, they have handled the repotting well so far.

Sickone Here we go into the next week, all the ladies are making excellent progress in width. Additionally, the distances of the new branches are relatively small and even. Current setup: 18/6 cycle 60-75% humidity Temperatures are regularly between 20 and 25 degrees. The fan runs daily for 10 hours, but still directed against the wall so that the air can bounce off, and not until 2 hours after the lights are turned on, as I believe the ladies shouldn't start the day directly with stress :) Also, one plant (which is probably a different strain based on its appearance) is developing a strongly recognizable Haze smell that makes me smile every time I visit her! :) PPFD: 470 DLI: 30.5 LUX: 18,000 Kelvin: 5100 I haven't used any nutrients yet since they are still freshly repotted, and according to the information from other growers, the Biobizz Light mix has enough nutrients for 2-3 weeks. Edit: 04/27/24 One lady looks sick :(

After a long search and a lot of feedback here from the community, it turns out that the little one is likely suffering from a calcium deficiency. The other two are feeling great though :)

Sickone The 4th week has begun, and the ladies are slowly but surely getting ready to shoot up in height. From this week on, the humidity problems started, reaching even up to the 80% mark at times... (top floor apartment) The fan was used regularly from this point on to at least keep the air somewhat circulating; additionally, I ventilated the tent completely every 2-3 hours. Due to the delay this week, some info might be missing that I didn't jot down.

Accordingly, the light output has been cranked up to about 75% with the Mars Hydro evo FC 1500 to achieve the following values. 650-700 PPFD 40-45 DLI The ladies have had a tough week with extremely high humidity and temperature. Unfortunately, I also had to catch up on some things this week, which is why some info is missing here. Starting next week, it will be complete again.

Sickone Unfortunately, the last few weeks haven't been managed well on this site because I've lost track of the platform a bit due to constant upload and connection issues. All the ladies are doing pretty well so far; 2 are already happily blooming and are probably entering the final phase, while the other one is slowly starting to stretch upwards. Light: Mars Hydro FC evo 1500 / China LED with supposedly 700W (probably more like 100-150) Added exhaust since the humidity has been extremely high the last few weeks, and the ladies haven't handled it very well. Fertilized for the first time now on 05/13/24 with BioBizz Bloom / Grow / Top Max PPFD: Between 950 and 1000 DLI: 60 I will edit the missing weeks; I still have all the pictures, etc.

Sickone Here we go into the next week. The ladies were fertilized on Monday according to the BioBizz feeding schedule, and additionally, I cooked eggshells in water for the CalMag lady and used this as watering water. All damaged leaves were removed from the CalMag lady. For the big ladies, I removed the yellow, dried leaves, but left the other yellow ones where there was still some green visible to avoid stressing them too much. Furthermore, I increased the lamp distance by 5cm since some tips of the leaves above have turned brown. (Precautionary measures) All damaged leaves were removed from the CalMag lady again today (Sunday, 26.05). It's interesting to see that mostly the new sun leaves are affected. But she is also starting to produce clear stigmas, and the typical bud stretch is beginning with her as well; let's see what else she will become. Not much has changed with the two big ladies; they are gradually shedding the unnecessary leaves. When looking from above at the stigmas, you can already see slight signs of buds. I suspect that during the next week, the buds will become clearly visible. Let's be surprised.

Sickone The probably last week of the 1st Lady begins. The other two Ladies are clearly lagging behind, but I'm happy to give them the extra time and care. Fertilization was done normally according to the schedule, additionally, my calmag Lady is now getting calmag for the 2nd time, maybe she'll bounce back too. Saturday 15.06.24 The first Lady was harvested today and hung up to dry in the prepared cabinet; I've chosen the Dry Trim method, which is why I haven't processed her further yet.

Happy Harvest Day!

Sickone It's going into week 11 The lady is happily blooming away, even the CalMag lady is slowly but surely developing small buds. According to the feeding schedule, no more nutrients will be added this week, but since I only started from week 5, they will get "Week 4" from the feeding schedule at the beginning of this week. I'm very curious to see how much longer the ladies will need from now on. For the first grow so far, it has been very worthwhile to gain new experiences that I've directly incorporated into my next round. The already harvested lady is comfortably hanging in the closet to dry at a temperature of about 20-21 degrees and a humidity of 47-55%. So far so good!🥦💚 Update 20.06.24 Today I felt the urge to check on the lady in the closet again; the main stem cracked when bending while others weren't quite ready yet. Nevertheless, I completed the trimming process today and put the buds into 2 jars for curing. On the scale after trimming, it was around 32G. Now I'm adding 8g Boveda 58% to the jars to support the fermentation process; in the next few days, I will regularly open the jars and check the buds for mold. Aroma very fruity fresh extremely resinous and sticky I'm excited about the result and the first smoke; feedback will follow, of course, as soon as the fermentation is done.🥦

Sickone The probably last/second to last week for the two ladies. I skipped the fertilizing; they now get 500ml of pH-reduced water every 2-4 days, between 6.3 and 6.5. More info on how it develops will follow throughout this week:💚🥦 The first buds from the first lady are already manicured and happily fermenting away. Edit Wednesday 26.06 24 CalMag lady was harvested today (Day 80) and trimmed right away since she hardly had any leaves left, I opted for the wet trim method here. Final wet weight with stems was around 200g.

Sickone New week, day 85 for the lady. I took her out of the tent today and put her in the closet; she'll stay there for the next 48 hours because I also came across this method where darkness just before harvest is supposed to encourage the plant to give it one last push and produce extra resin.

Good luck with your first grow, growmie! 💚 Nice to see that you're doing it right with the DLI value, but keep an eye on the PPFD value too! :) Take 3 plastic bottles, cut the tops off, and place them over your plant to raise the humidity above 80%. I'll keep following your grow! 🌿
Sickone
Sickone commented2y ago
@Cannaapeace, Hey Growmie, thank you so much for the kind words and the warm welcome to your community 🌱 I'm grateful for any tips, I'm currently trying to regulate the humidity with a damp cloth hanging at the top of the tent since the old "dome" became too small. I've already prepared bottles for the next grow because I've been advised to transplant autoflowers only after they've developed 4-5 leaf pairs, which I didn't consider at first. I also keep a somewhat detailed diary on the Jane App, so if you want to take a look at the ppfd values etc., I warmly invite you to do so 🍃🌱🍁 https://growithjane.com/growlog/lemon-wonder-automatic-cmyyb

Sickone commented2y ago
@RasendeRollo92, Oh yeah, and they smell really nice, still a bit hay-like, but the familiar THC scent and a fruity aroma are slowly coming through. I put them in jars for fermenting with a good 32G after 8 days of drying and trimming.

Looks really good. Considering that we both started celebrating at the same time, you're already a bit ahead of me. Well, I'm struggling with my outdoor grow due to the bad weather. I hope my two ladies get a lot of sun towards the end. Luckily, I got a greenhouse, otherwise, the two would have drowned.
Sickone
Sickone commented2y ago
@Blumentopf, Oh yes, I'm really excited too, but I got the info today that my blooming Lemon Lady is probably lacking nutrients... I need to step it up a bit, that's why she looks so worn out. I assumed that the "autumn cycle" of the plant was starting. But the differences between us are really enormous; I've occasionally checked in on you out of curiosity. I hope for your ladies that the weather in cold Germany starts to regulate itself soon 😅
Blumentopf
Blumentopf commentedweek 22y ago
Let's keep our fingers crossed that the sick lady gets better. Luckily, if I can believe the comments, I put my ladies in the final pot. But that's what the first grow is for, making mistakes and learning from them. If she doesn't make it, what will it be in her place?
Sickone
Sickone commented2y ago
@Blumentopf, thank you :)! I'm hoping that if I give the lady some Calmag tomorrow, she should relatively "quickly" get back on her feet. It's obviously a bummer with the autoflower since you can clearly see the difference from the others, but hey, as you said, the first grow is there to make mistakes and build on them. Next, I have a round of Autoflower Girl Scout Cookies (Fastbuds), and after that, or maybe even during, I'll venture into the Feminized Runtz from Zamnesia :)

DoctorD commentedweek 12y ago
Wishing you lots of success from my side too! How do you measure DLI and PPFD? With your phone, or did you invest in a quantum sensor? Anyways... Kudos for being able to understand these terms on your first grow. Regulating humidity with a damp kitchen towel or something similar works great. In my opinion, it's better than the cheap mist sprayers. Cheers D.
Sickone
Sickone commented2y ago
@DoctorD, Thank you very much, also for answering my question the other day. I was just thinking about possible hermaphrodites. Currently, I'm measuring the DLI and PPFD values with a mobile app called "PPFD Meter," and then I check this value against the "Photon" app so that I at least have an approximate measurement. Yes, due to my initial misinvestment with the China LED, I put a lot of thought into how I can ensure that the plant gets enough light, etc., and after a long search, I came across the terms PPFD / DLI, which I could then use as a guideline. :) Increasing the humidity with a damp kitchen towel works great; you just have to be careful not to exceed the target of 75%. Otherwise, just ventilate the tent briefly, and the humidity will drop in no time. :)

Cannaapeace commentedweek 12y ago
Looks great, I think it's going to get its first push now, and in week 2-3 you'll see really nice leaves :) I'm curious what kind of light you're using if you have it only 26cm away from the lady.
Sickone
Sickone commented2y ago
@Cannaapeace, thank you for the feedback! I was really unsure yesterday if it was too much stress for the little ones since the cups weren't rooted yet, which caused a few little "problems." But as far as I can tell, there's a noticeable improvement in leaf development from yesterday to today, and the sun leaves were also realigned yesterday 😃. I had to buy a China LED from *don’t throw stones* Kaufland.de because I didn't initially pay enough attention to the lighting... my Mars Hydro FC 1500 should arrive next week, and hopefully, it will look better then :)

Bandit600 commentedweek 12y ago
Hi, autos don't like being repotted. Always plant them directly in the final pot. If something goes wrong, you'll lose 1-2 weeks. Repot them as quickly as possible. And about the light, I always let my lamps run at 100% from the start, just keep a bit more distance. Good luck!
Sickone
Sickone commented2y ago
@Bandit600, Hey thanks for the info, I unfortunately didn't consider this at the beginning but I will keep it in mind for future grows. 😁 The ladies were repotted today, I hope they survive it. Regarding the light, the problem is I'm currently using a China LED with a 100w rating, so I need to experiment a bit with that. At the end of the month, the final lamp will follow, and then it will get easier. 🌱👍

Hi, I saw that you repotted your girls. Very good, just give them more water, about half a liter of water per pot, so the roots search for water and grow bigger. Lift your pot up so you know how heavy it is and repeat that when your pot feels lighter. You can also message me in chat. Your babies look good 👍. Best regards

Cannaapeace commentedweek 32y ago
The lady is doing great, no C deficiency ;) It's normal for the first two seed leaves to look like that, just cut them off and relieve her of the unnecessary stress :)
Sickone
Sickone commented2y ago
@Cannaapeace, unfortunately, the problem has persisted with the lady until today. First, she develops new healthy leaves, and a few days later they start to become deformed... Unfortunately, the grow shop I trust doesn't have any Calmag in stock, and online delivery times are so long that I’ll have to go through it without it, like it or not :)
