I always wanted to grow my own stuff, but especially due to insufficient space I did not try for a long time.
Then I heard about Microgrows and started informing, as I was fascinated by this method.
After I've prepared my selfmade Grow-PC for this Stealthgrow, I started with putting this one seed I got from a friend between two wet papertowels for germination.
To the PC Growbox:
- measurements: 245 x 445 x 445 mm
- Tried to seal it as good as I can with Aluminum Tape, reflective foil and sealing tape.
- Active Carbon Filter is also self-made out of some cleaned Milk-carton, active carbon, nets, and a radial-fan
- Growing light is also self-made out of 5x 28cm led strips LM301H
- I put a 1.5 cm Plexi-Glas in front of the Growing light to protect the plant (at least a bit) of the heat that is emitted by the growing light.
- 2 Axial-Fans for air circulation
- One of the sides of the PC-case has been sealed with sealing tape and provided with strong neodym magnets for easy opening and closing. This has been decided due to the thickness of the sealing tape, leading to the inability of closing the pc case the common way (with screws).
I noticed that the Temperatures were way to high for this young seedling, so I decided to turn my ventilation a bit up.
This way, around 24-25°C and ~40-50% humidity were reached.
At Day 12 I started with some LST as I need to keep the plant as low as possible. As the whole PC-Case is only about 45cm high - from which I loose around 10-13cm to light- and potsize - I need to use the space left efficiently.
This Week, nothing really special were done. Mostly some further LST and of course watering. At the end of the week I started using toothpicks, which looks a bit brutal :)
Don't wonder about this small bit of aluminum foil on the soil. Was just thinking that it might reflect some more light for the top of the plant, but of course this makes not really much sense... :D
I started watering more and adding a normal amount of Biobizz Bio-Grow.
I continued doing some LST and on Day 24 I chopped the 2nd and 3rd leaf-pair.
Day 25 I decided to Top the plant.
On Day 26 I accidentally chopped one of the new coming branches, which made me really mad at myself. So the whole purpose of topping and getting 2 new main buds was gone.
But things like that happen, so I decided to make the best out of it and just continued.
On Day 27 I added an additional weight on the plant, to hold it more down to the ground. Still I need to be careful and limit the height of the plant as I have very limited space.
Nothing special has been done in this week, besides watering with some Biogrow + BioHeaven.
At Day 33 I removed the hammer from the plant (which was some additional weight to force it growing as near on the ground as possible) and did some small Defoliation.
Lightcycle has been changed to 12/12 on Day 41.
Furthermore at Day 41, I also started adding BioBizz-BioBloom & TopMax in addition to BioHeaven & BioGrow at that day.
I continued with the nutrient plan as the weeks before, the light change. I did not give BioBloom and Top-Max this week.
Furthermore I slowly started increasing the power of the light during the week up to 35W.
I continued with the nutrient plan and started adding again BioBloom, TopMax, and for the first time also Alg-a-Mic and Acti-Vera.
I also always have to do further LST to keep her down.
At Day 53 latest, she outed herself as a girl.
Flowering Week 1 was without any special incidents.
I was happy with the overall growth of the plant, as it was now filling most of the available surface.
Flowers slowly started developing and looks really promising.
Nonetheless, I was a bit worried about the smell.
But for now it seems to work quite well with my self-made carbon active filter on the outside of the box.
The plant is doing well, flowers are getting bigger and it slowly starts smelling if the box is opened.
The height-growth seems to have a bit reduced, which I would say is okay for now.
Furthermore, I did some Defoliation on Day 72. But even if I think I did took a lot of leaves away, i'm still not so sure it is really visible on the photos.
Plant really develops great for this circumstances and the given space. The flowers are getting thicker and the Leafs nearby getting more trichomes :)
I started increasing the nutrients at the beginning of this week.
The Height growth nearly stopped. I start thinking, that I might have given her one or two more weeks of vegetative phase, just so it starts filling the whole box at the end.
But let's see what the outcome will be.
Also it slowly starts smelling a bit also with the box fully closed. Will try to make the best out of it and check if I can reduce the smell a bit more again.
Plant ist developing well, unfortunately this also goes for the smell. My tries to reduce the smell were without success, so I take it as it is.
I also again further increased the Nutrients given.
The Harvest comes near and preparations are about to be made.
At Day 98 I gave the last time some nutrients, the rest of the week only water has been given in order to try to flush on the last mile.
The last 3 days are on going.
At Day 105 I shut down the light completely.
It was quite a journey, and there are defintely things to improve, but overall i'm really happy with how the plant developed in that limited space!
2 Days later, it was harvest day...
Really nice strain with a good and potent high. The strain was very forgiving for all the mistakes I made during this Journey and even rewarded me with 49,5g of dried flowers, which is amazing on this small space.
Unfortunately I forgot to measure the weight of the fresh herbs.
Due to limited space, I had to cut down all the flowers and place them on a net. Otherwise I would have loved to cut the whole plant and hang it.
Unfortunately I forgot to measure the wet weight, but I got around 49,5 grams of dry flower, which is an amazing result. Really happy about it :)
Smoke is smooth and the high is a potent, happy head high in combination with some relaxing bodyload.
@Zarayju, Sorry for the late answer, I was not checking here frequently.
I've bought those from Lientec-LED. They also offer a lot of DIY-Sets. Keep in mind to also order some aluminum profiles, as the heat of the LEDs needs to be dissipated.
