DWC time. Going with GH Maxibloom Lucas Formula on 4 strains.
This one from Royal Queen Seeds is a Cup Winner and I'm going to give her the Royal treatment this grow.
Ppm is 500. 178 from tap and 322 of MB
PH is 5.8 and water Temps are 68F.
I have zip tied large green tomato cages to the net pot lids on the 5 gal buckets. This will make training way easier and support the heavy branches later in flower.
Also it allows me to lift the lid or slide it for changing the nutes and checking ppm and pH everyday without hurting the plant.
So here we GO! Let's grow a monster
She's going strong. The nutes are staying around 700ppm even with her sucking water. Looks like that's where she likes the ppm at. No deficiencies. Roots look good. Temps are back to normal after last weeks mini spring heat wave. Wasn't ready to put the AC in the window yet.
She's got a really nice smell now. Roots looking good.
She's vigorous and seems to love hydro growing. She has a wonderful strong smell now. She's shaping up to put on a show soon.
Trying to keep her height down with LST to allow the other 3 strains in the tent to catch up in height. Hoping to flip the tent in 1-2 weeks.
Defoliated but 2 days later it grew back lol.
I cut out some of the lower growth that wasn't getting light. Also make it easier to check and add fresh nute solution.
She smells weedy and getting a really nice canopy going for the flip soon.
She's got a massive root ball. If roots equal fruits then I'm expecting some fat resin soaked buds in 8 weeks.
I'm going to push her mid to late bloom to fatten her up.
I'm thinking around 1400 to 1600ppm in a week or two.
She smells like a skunk and made my fingers very sticky when pinching leaves of to defoliate. Also made my arms get itchy and a little red until I washed my arms off.
EC is around 2.0
1000ppm
Removed the large fan leaves kinda a little schwazz to open up the bud sites to more light and air.
She's still smelly, sticky and vigorous
6/16 update- I lollipopped her and cut off lower secondary branches that weren't above halfway to focus the energy on the tops during flower.
3rd week of flower and I heavily defoliated her to open up bud sites to air and light.
Added Flower Fuel nutes to boost mid flower.
Smell is stronger now. Really sticky and more trichromes popping up.
Buds smell very strong funk. Lots of pistils have turned orange. Still swelling. She's drinking a gal of water each day.
I've gotten the pH, EC and ppm pretty stable now. She needed a rez change. Everytime the pH swings down and the EC was going from 1.4 to 2.2. Which isn't bad but the pH was dropping to 5.4
Now the pH is swinging up to 6.2 from 5.8
EC staying around 1.5 and ppm around 750
Trichromes are milky white with some turning amber. Resin smells like pine and berries. She was very top heavy when changing the rez today. She's very smelly. She sprays her scent everytime I topped off the rez.
I'm starting the flush process since pistils are all turned and curly and Trichromes are on point for harvest in a week.
EC of my tap water is .530 something like 235 ppm which is kinda high but it comes from the river and we haven't had rain for 5 weeks now so water levels are low so I assume there's higher concentration of salts.
Roots still look amazing. Not really white but healthy.
Well she's beautiful, smelly, and sticky. Trichromes are about 30% amber now. Senescence is in full swing. Nice yellows, purples and magenta.
She was easy in DWC. In fact her roots filled the 5 gallon bucket up. They stayed healthy the whole grow. Water Temps were 73 to 74F the whole grow. Hydroguard is wonderful for DWC. GH Maxibloom and CalMag is all you need for nutes to grow any cannabis really.
I can see how she's a cup winner. Great genetics and the buds are dense. Can't wait to try her out after curing.
