If you just had a bunch of seeds in your hand it would be almost impossible to tell what kinda strain you . As they grow they may develop some characteristics of certain strains that may make it easier to tell . If your buying seeds from a retailer it should always be indicated 100% on the packaging what strain you have . It may not tell you the info such as flowering time or the percentages of indica/sativa but it should at the very least tell you who they came from : Dinafem , Canuk Seeds , Barneys farm and so on and it should also be written the strain and if its feminised. With that being said you can determine the dominant of a plant by looking at the leaves if they are thinner and longer leaves they are more sativa also with that being said the plants tend to grow a little taller . If the leaves are bigger but shorter you have yourself an indica plant , there's a third type of plant but you dont often see it as a dominant its always mixed in with strains , it is called ruderallis and its main trait that instead of growing 5 7 9 12 parts to a leaf it will usually on do 3 parts . According to your diary your strain your are growing isnt an auto so i wouldnt recommend leaving the lights on 24 hours . Plants need a rest period (photosynthesis period) which is usually done at night . You can leave the lights on 24 hours a day but your growth won't be as fast as 18 hours or 20 hours . Most pro growers when doing photo period strains will only veg for 20 hours a day max in order to give the plant some rest time . I hope this information is useful to you in understanding abit about the different types of cannabis plant and the importance of giving your plant rest time if its a photo period plant . -Happy Growing!
