Everything is still going well which I'm happy about. As stated on my other diary I am still watering them with Natural Mineral Water and adjusting the PH to between 5.8 - 6.2 which helps dissolve all the additives in the nutrients, as recommended by Canna particularly whilst I'm using Canna Terra Flores. The buds are growing well and I am seeing subtle changes on a daily basis. The addiction to looking after these plants is getting stronger daily lol. Im almost dreading the harvest, as it'll be the end of looking after these beauties but hopefully the end justifies the means. They seem to be reacting well to the PK13-14 and everything else they are getting fed. My next research task is to find out exactly when I should be flushing the girls, as I understand it takes 2 weeks to fully flush them. I'll search Growdiaries and find the same strains I'm growing and see when they started. Well folks it's been a blast and I'll see you next week for another update. Well to all of my half dozen followers anyway lmao

They will start to fatten quickly when they hit the next stage. consider when you class flowering to start from too. If its from the start of actual visible flower sets , then this can mean a difference of on average a week , against flip being classed as flowering . have overlooked ( and panicked !) this fact for years and always assumed my plants had " overgone" their advertised flowering periods.!!!!just a thought and a comfort to realise you may still have some time for so many changes to happen . looking good

@Njanne, been doing it for past 20 years and i only figured it out this grow. lol kicking myself for all those harvests i waited like an idiot for and the nreeders i branded Bullsh#@@!rs on their promised flowering times of their strains. whoops !!!. Still learning after decades is typical of this amazing hobby of ours.

@Ganjagrandaddy, good point man! I have been making this very mistake and I always seem to be 2 weeks off. Ha!
Ganjagrandaddy
Ganjagrandaddy
@Homegrown79, it does give you a better chance of hitting the " sweet spot" for harvest time.

i have been using an aquarium water cleaner that cleans tap water of chlorine and chloramine too. it has beneficial bacteria also. it has been good to date and can usr water instantly without having to stand it fir 24hours ( which still leaves chloramine in the water). It is fairly inexpensive too . in uk £5 to clean 200ltr . it is called " tap safe" and rhere are a few other brands that do the same. if you think about aquaponics and using fish to provide nutrients ect.. then products for healthy fish must be transferable . works a treat for my rdwc res. just a suggestion for research maybe

@Ganjagrandaddy,I actually have that due to having a fish tank. Might have to look into this a bit a further. Thanks for the advice mate

have a read into not flushing and slow drying instead. i never flush and never get harsh weed or killed flavour from drying too quickly. if you slow dry , all the harsh chlorophyll etc... gets exhausted as she tries to keep her buds alive and fresh. Starving any plant of vital food at such an important time of their cycle , makes no sense honestly. commercial growers do flushes as it saves them 2 weeks worth of nutes , which on the scale they grow with , would be a huge financial saving. For us it jas no real value. it is a myth that has been perpetuated for ever and peeps who do it "swear by it", but in truth , it costs yield and terpines. please have a research and see what you can come up with . well worth it. look good despite the ph issue. lucky save mate. I only ever ph the water 1st to counter using silica , then feeds ect.. then ph again. if not using any then always last. doing great

@Homegrown79, i use jars for storing my own supplies but thankfully with the slow dry , flavour is there from the off. admittedly , as tome passes the smell def increases within the jar , but snapping/grinding a slow dried bud , releases all those smells and tastes too. So hard to not dry too quickly once trimmed and hung. controlling the perfect r.h and temp while still having plants flowering can affect this too.
Homegrown79
Homegrown79
@Ganjagrandaddy, how long do you keep the buds in jars curing for? Or do you just keep them in there until smoked?
Ganjagrandaddy
Ganjagrandaddy
@Homegrown79, pleasure mate. if we cant help each other out , how can we claim community. am sure you wont regret it but be prepared for the defence of the not flushing. lol . The harsness benefit of sliw dry alone is worth doing , not to mention the saving of flavour and potency. So many people ( if they are honest) have dried quick and ruined their weed so it tastes and smells like hay. Then trying to recreate what has been destroyed already 2-4 weeks in jars " curing". nobody likes to admit they have done it and some do it every grow . The extra drying days save so much time long term. keep up the great work

looking good.mate. have read about the packs and i think the 62% is the standard used. not used them myself ( never around long enough to cure lol.) Took my Liberty out today for untrimmed drying. She is huge ( pics on my update). Cannot wait for numbers on dry harvest. watching yours with interest now too. great job

@modaf, sorry only just seen this modaf. . for me the cooler the better. a lower rh only dries it quicker if it can evaporate. There are many , many forums and threads for a slow dry logic which i willingly will share here but risk being whipped as different sites to here.lol If you Google slow drying cannabis , there will be lots.of info to have a look through. The science supports it and i know from personal exp how different it makes things. There is a growing support for using frost free refrigerators to slow dry and it retains the Terpenes once dry too. Rather like fresh vegetables. this is where my "cooler the better" comes in. Trimming is a pain once finally dry as i also leave everything on until final harvest , but trimming is awful anytime. lol

@Ganjagrandaddy, can I ask if you would recommend any particular reference to learn about slow drying? Edit: all good think I found it.. short answer 21C at 50% humidity.
Ganjagrandaddy
Ganjagrandaddy
@Homegrown79,I have used it a few times and not had any issues at all. As long as you allownit to slow dry so they can convert leftover chlorophyll etc for goodness as carbs ect. Leaves create the harsh taste and a lot of wet trimmers just chop sugar leaves in the bud which leaves its base and stem hidden away and can cause the harshness.

@TheUndercoverGrower, yes mate, ive managed to get it down a bit. The airflow is a lot better but I've a dehumidifier on order and should be here next week. Hopefully that will cure the issue permanently. I will need to upgrade a few things for the next one but I should be OK for now

Well for a novice I can honestly say well done, you did a great job! You know your made for this when you make it to harvest day! That's always a good sign no matter the amount! 😁 You will find that no matter how many grows you do, no matter how confident you may be in growing there are always lessons to be learned, and that's not a bad thing! It's the reason sites like GD exist! Keep it rolling and as always happy growing! Look forward to seeing future grows, now enjoy curing and smoking those buds, nothing beats getting high from your own supply 😎
