Hi. My first indoor grow. Grabbed a 2x4x5 tent and a pair of cheap cob LEDs from amazon (waiting for the second light). I'm using just one early on, I'll add the second when it comes in the mail. Happy frog soil with some added perlite. Gave the three some weak grow nutes on day 4 and 7. Other than that, just plain water and some patience. Sorry about the lighting, I'll see if I can get something else in there for future pics
Week2 mostly the same as week one, added some bloom fertilizer to my weak mixture. These are fast flowering autos so I figure that should start pretty soon. Gave them the grow/bloom mix on day 12. Plain water besides the one feed. These are my first autos so I am still figuring things out. Trying to stay ahead of the flowers. I missed pics on days 7 and 8 due to being out of town.
Happy growing :)
So,I got a little crazy and topped these ladies. I know that's probably frowned upon but the growth has been good thus far and hadn't seen any sign of flowering as of day 15. It will be interesting to see how it goes. Day 17 pre-flowers! Darn it. The plants are still fairly short. I hope the dual top stems have time to thicken up before budding in earnest.
Day 21 short canopy is fairly flat. With all the branch tops staying within a few inches.
Noticed some nitrogen toxicity in my smaller DLF light green almost yellow look to the leaves. and a bit of blue tint/clawing on the white widow. So they have had nothing but plain water all week. I suppose I misjudged how much nutrients are already in this happy frog soil. When I am convinced the ladies have had time to deal with all the nutes in the soil I will start with some weak bloom and build up from there.
Well the stretch surprised me and I got a bit of light burn on the tips of the fresh growth I think it was about day 25 or so. I pulled down the split tops and spread the canopy of the two bigger plants and left the small one to stretch for dear life on the side. Got my second light in the tent on day 27 which boosted the Temps and humidity in my tent. A couple changes to my exhaust and I got the Temps to stay around 29c at the top by my lights and about 25 down low. Gave a weak shot of bloom nutes early this week and plain water for the rest. I ordered some advanced nutrients for the rest of the grow. I expect to get my order by week 3 of bloom.
Held down the split tops again this week and spread anything that was extra tall to try to even out the canopy. Cleaned out the bottoms and freed up some space in the canopy about midweek. My new nutes came in so this is the last week with grotek. Weekly half dose of Bloom and straight water for the rest of the week. My pH has been pretty good all through the grow this far. 6.5 to 7 favoring closer to 7. Light burn was limited to tips when they were standing straight up which now looks a lot like nute burn but I'm confident it isn't. Decent hairballs building up by week's end. Missed a few days pics while out of town.
Got my new nutrients in the mail and started with half strength. I imagine I will increase the strength a bit in the coming weeks. Everything seems to be going pretty well. The buds are growing up and should fill out in the coming weeks.
I stopped with big bud this week as per directions. This week looks to be the last week of feed. I plan on buying a jewelers loupe this weekend to check the trichome. Orange/red hairs are coming on strong now and with my crappy phone it looks like mostly clear trichome with some getting milky. Buds are starting to thicken up. The white widow is developing very dense and slightly shorter/chunkier and heavier buds. The Dwarf low flyers seem to be favoring sativa characteristics with bigger looser cat-taily type buds.
Welp, did a small preliminary flush on day1 this week with some flawless finish. About 5l for each plant. The runoff was..... Cloudy. I let em dry up for a couple days and did a much better flush in my bathtub until the water was running relatively clear and colorless. Took about 30 litres per.
A few bottom fan leaves got colorful and withered and the fade is creeping up the remaining foliage. I bought a loupe and have been monitoring the trichome all week. They have been slowly turning mily and now a few amber have shown. Ill be putting them down for 48 hours darkness and giving the ol choppy choppy. The buds put on a bunch more mass this week with one dlf puffing up huge and cat taily. The other has filled in more dense and much smaller. The white widow auto (always in the middle) has amazing dense buds. All the buds are covered in trichomes. This grow has gone better than I would have ever thought.
Dwarf low flyer is day bud for sure. Modest thc and a medium high. The white widow is the opposite, heavy night smoke that locks me to the couch with some glorious munchies.
These plants were great to grow. My experience level is still low so these plants are my new baseline for quality and quantity. The dwarf low flyers grew very different, one large and one small. I blame myself for the small one, I think I misfed or misread the signals from the plant and ended up with excess nitrogen at the start of Bloom. The larger one ended up havingvery big buds but lacked density and is mildly airy. The white widow buds turned out exactly as I had hoped, big and dense/heavy. All buds, big and small, dense and airy are heavily laden with trichome and are very sticky. 6 days of drying was as long as I could manage before the buds started to get very crispy on the outside. Dry trimmed the remaining fan leaves and tidied up the buds a bit. Been curing for a week now so I have only smoked a few tester buds. I'll do a final update on the finished smoke after the buds have cured to my liking.
@HighTV, Im getting a big whiff of sweet when I open my tent, a bit of a earthy/pine and a little bit of something else I don't have the words for lol stinky skunky perhaps.
