bcuzZ Let the Dehner coconut expansion tablets swell in warm water, squeeze them out, and put the seeds directly in. Stored in an empty 20L fabric pot on a tray with moist perlite, covered with plastic wrap, on a warm device. A heating mat would have been even better! Still, the germination rate is 100% after 6 days.

bcuzZ After germination, into the tent! There under my custom-built e27 LED panel: These are 2 connected light chains with e27 sockets from Amazon, on a leftover Ikea board with two leftover Ikea shelves as "wings." In the middle hangs a SANSI 36 W and next to it 4x 20W LEDs with 4000K. The PPFD is measured using the Photone app (with paper in front of the iPhone) and the distance is chosen so that in the first week between 300-400 PPFD is achieved. Watering is done according to the grower.ch watering tutorial (i.e., saturate with drain, note this weight and feel, and then only water again once about 50%-60% of the saturated weight is reached).

Grow Questions

bcuzZstarted grow question 2y ago
I plan to use these 5L fabric pots for this grow in my 80x80x180 tent till the end. Do you think this makes sense? It should stay more or less a legal grow in Germany (max. 120g dry yield, as we´re two). Alternatively, I would also have 5x 20L fabric pots.

If you have a 120g limit, 3 sq ft can do that.. less than half of that tent. Might need a 100-150w light depending on the efficacy of it. Maybe 4 plants in a mini sea of green that you do 12/12 for 7-14 days. A 5L is quite small, so you'd want to fill with as many tiny plants as it takes. if the light has a rectangular footprint due to shape, maybe 2 rows of 3 plants. Leaves lots of room for a circulation fan or exhaust fant to fit into tent if not using the full 0.64m^2 space. With more plants probably wouldn't need any vege time at all, and just 12/12 from seed. Trial and error with that stuff. With a 20L, 1 plant might be enough with 4-5 weeks of vege if you get a decent growth rate from seed. Just with basic plant maintenance and filling an intended size of grow area you should be able to do 50grams/sq ft.

bcuzZ On day 10 (after germination), I watered (1.3L, mostly drain of about 200 to 300 ml) and noted the weight. A saturated 5L fabric pot weighs about 2.7-2.8kg for me. The hardest part is that everything is going well and they don’t need me. Still, I check on my girls for 10 minutes every day just because 😍. I added 2 more e27 2700k 13w 1521 lm. Less for the light, but to get the temperature a bit higher. So far, it’s working well, so it’s about 25 degrees at the fabric pot level now. Still at 300-400 ppfd according to the photone. Edit Day 15: Added another 2x 20W 4000K 2500 lm. Total now 182 W, about 28-29 °C max temps. Watered today - they were at 60% of the saturated weight.

bcuzZ - upped light intensity to ca. 600 PPFD by taking of the domes of the E27 LEDs - performed LST and defoliated larger leaves that were blocking the new nodes; snapped the main stem from Forbidden Cherry #1. Damn. She survived, but so much pain. Stupid beginner mistake. She´ll recover! - Otherwise, great growth, no other issues.

bcuzZ After watching basementganja YouTube channel I also got into berserk mode and defoliated, perhaps a bit much. On the other hand, a couple days later they're looking good. As floragard professional grow mix has nutrients for ca. 4 weeks and the 5l fabric pots are rather small, I'll keep an eye on yellowing leaves. I gave a homeopathic dose of sensi bloom a for the first time - just to do something

bcuzZ I think the stretch is going to start now. All are in bloom and developing OK. Leaves are drooping a bit too much for my taste and due to the bushy growth are quite overlapping. But I'll from now just let them grow and try to do as little as possible.. Which is incredibly hard. Sometimes I just sit 10 mins staring at my girls, smelling their scent and being thankful that I don't have to fear being locked up for growing a fucking plant 😄

bcuzZ Survived 3 nights of absence. Defoliated again and already partially lollipopped. Tried the little waste shoots with buds in the vaporizer and IT'S WORKING a bit!! :D

bcuzZ Trichome formation starting slowly on all plants. Both forbidden cherry show hanging leaves quite often, but then recover. Stoll missing the purple coloration. In contrast the 3x auto blueberry and auto orange bud are quite happy, constantly. Auto orange bud is in the lead in terms of bud formation and developing well. Nice earthy citrus smell. It's the smallest plant, but beautiful. I could get the humidity down by going to 24/7 light and exhausting used air directly outside the basement window. Accordingly, I increased distance to light to axilhiece 400-700 ppdf, as DLI over 24h is almost +60 everywhere.. I am wondering if that's too much light, but so far they seem to cope. I prefer a bit of light stress over a too high humidity. I also intentionally went a bit higher with the sensi bloom to 3ml/l. A day later the plants are showing a deeper green but also slightly burned tips. So I know now that the 2ml/l (50% of recommendation) are just about right. I irrigate every 3rd day, alternating pure water (well, not entirely pure, I add bus Candy due to the magnesium) with watering including sensi bloom a and b nutrients

bcuzZ 2x Blumat classic xl doing their job well in the 5 l fabric pots. Could easily go 4 days without watering. Instead of watering every 2-3 days, bits more like supplementing a bit water once per week. Orange bud top buds are basically ready, will partially harvest them this week. Finally rh down in the 50s again after bad conditions in Germany. Now it's a smooth sail towards the end. Wohoo. What a fun first time grow. Have extensively sampled buds with a vaporizer right from the plant, but also dried some. I love the energetic orange bud high. Still a bit too active, but as I have ca. 5 percent amber trichomes now, I guess it's time for my taste, soon. Blueberry was already very relaxing with a happy stupid stoner high, but for those I will make sure to have a lot of amber trichomes. I am somewhat disappointed with forbidden cherry. Started much later with blooming,it's only starting to get frosty now, no purple, small buds. Maybe I leave them out a night or two before the end to get the purple color induced.
