12/12 from seed super micro sea of green grow. Growing in miracle grow garden soil mixed with play sand and osmocote plus controlled release prills. DIY cardboard grow box.
This grow is just a fun little experiment. JUst to see what I can get with minimal resources. Soil mix is cheap miracle gro garden soil mixed with play sand. Nutrients are osmocote plus controlled release prills mixed directly into soil mix. THe light bulbs are 9 watt led bulbs from the dollar tree lol. WIsh me luck. 12 plants currently hope to be left with around 6 females and to yield a gram per plant.
So a small Chang of plans, I realized 6 plants was too tight for this set up so my plants showed sex and it’s down to 3 females. Still might go down to 2 if they get bigger.
We are in week six now from seeds. Not the healthiest plants and a little droopy but for the amount of light, poor environment, cheap soil and cheap time release fertilizer i am still happy with the current condition of the two remaining plants. THE started to flower last week but I would say Now that they are going into full blown flowering.
The plant on the right has stretched and has taken over. It is about 3 times the size of the plant on the left.
I have not used any added nutrients yet for this grow beside The Osmocote plus that I mixed directly into the soil when I planted the seeds. SO far their doesn’t seem seem to be any deficiencies but at some point during flowering I plan on giving them some miricle grow bloom booster if they seem to get hungry.
One plant continues to stretch and the other is smaller but in full blown flowering now. Still have only givin plain tap water up to this point and they don’t seem to be needing any additional nutrients yet. They do seem to be flowering a little slow but this could be due to the fact they are getting only 18 watts of led.
First day of week 9 of this plants life. Still on only plain tap water unknown ph. The bigger pant is finally done stretching it seems.
Final day of week 9 the plants look like they still have about 6 weeks to go but still growing very well with just plain tap water.
It’s the beginning of week 11 from seed and the plants look good. I didn’t water for 12 days and got some leaf damage but other than that the plants are still doing their thing. Still only feeding tap water, I had planned on giving them some MG bloom booster at some point but they still don’t seem to need any and they look like they will be done in about 3 to 4 weeks so we will see.
Day 74 from seed I decided to try and pollinate the plant with some old feminized pollen I had in the freezer for 6 months. It doesn’t look like it took so the pollen might no longer be viable but won’t know for sure for a couple weeks.
Doesn’t look like the pollen took. Must have been dead. Plants look ok not amazing. But very happy for being 18 watts of light. Starting to smell more during lights out. Still only giving plain tap water. Looks like they have a couple weeks left. I am going to guess my dry harvest weight will be right around 7 grams lol
We are at the end of week 13 1212 from seed now. This entire grow I have only given tap water untested ph. The plants are starting to look shitty but for the simplicity and minimal watts used I am very happy about the results. I have decided today on day 90 to turn out the lights and now longer give any water. I plan on leaving them in the box for at least a few more days before harvesting. The first plant is dry now but I Han not weighed yet. It looks like it’s right around a gram 😂. I will weigh everything once the last plant is dried and harvested. My guess on the total weight of everything is right around 7 grams dried. Will be for sure harvesting sometime next week.
I just chopped the plant on day 93 from seed. I gave nothing but plain tap water this whole experiment. I know I could have left a couple more weeks but the plants seemed to have stalled out and I already started germinating the seeds for my next experiment. But for only using 18 watts of led and giving plain tap water I am very happy with the results. My next update will be the harvest results with pictures of the dried flowers. And possibly dried weight if I can find my scale.
So the second plant has been drying for almost 5 days and so I cut all the buds off the stems this morning and then tonight they were fully dry enough to trim. Outsides were crispy but still have some moisture in them. Overall this was the most low maintenance grow I ever did. Just gave water the entire grow and grew them under 2 dollar tree led bulbs. Definitely not a large yield but for the amount of effort worth it today they weighed 8 grams on the scale but still might lose another 1 or 2 when fully cured. Hope you enjoyed the grow and if anyone wants any seeds of this strain hit me up at [email protected] I have a few hundred of them.
@Kaya666, that’s legit I did a grow with 60 watts once and got 45 grams dry lol. But I had to go even smaller this time lol. Thanks for checking it out
Nice one, micro is the way, I'm on 59 watts of LED in a box with a 1 sq ft footprint, I have four plants, every two weeks one comes down, one goes in, gives me 25 to 35 grams every two weeks :)
i used to run 12/12 from seed, but i have a tiny veg box with 4x 1lt pots so a plant will cycle 8 weeks through the veg box before flower- Fabric pots rock, i veg in 1 lt and flower in 3 lt, never root bound.
I only run a dairy on every 8th plant, too many to document.
Goodluck, Happy Smokes

@Marlin, it seems you missed the point of this grow. It was an experiment to see what can be done with the very least and items that are easily available to the masses.
@Efka710,thanks. I used 2 9 watt led bulbs I got from the dollar tree lol. I cut of the plastic tops of the bulbs to exposed the bare leds. So a total of 18 watts. I will put a picture of the lights I used on my next post.
This is awesome! I jut started my grow and I've been thinking all this expensive leds are all BS!
Of course you'll get better yields with better lightning but this diary right here is proof that all you need is the will to do it and it will work out just fine!
Thank you for sharing, stay green!
