Critical Jack Photoperiod DWC

I just started this - it’s my first photoperiod! I’m hoping to scrog this and get a good yield! Fingers crossed, as it’s my first scrog too!

This plant had a slow start, I think because the humidity fell so low this past week in Chicago. I added a humidifier to bring up the humidity a bit, but I have another tent connected to the same air system so I have to be cautious not to raise it too high -- some of my other plants are in flowering right now. This past week I have seen some significant growth, however. I've introduced some nutrients to it, and I think we're off to the races now! I'll probably veg this one for 8-12 weeks depending on how she grows. Looking forward to some growth over the next week!

So far this plant has been growing great! The leaves look very healthy. Roots are coming out from everywhere. I'm going to probably try and make this my first manifold as well as my first SCROG, and first photoperiod. What could go wrong?? 😂

This plant is doing pretty good! She grew to 5 nodes and I took everything off except for the 3rd. I'm waiting for these two bud sites to stretch a bit before I start doing some more topping. I'm trying to make this into a manifold and use a SCROG net. Wish me luck! 🙌

This plant is doing pretty good. I'm still working on the topping, and I have one more round of topping I want to do in order to produce 8 bud sites. So far, so good. I'm just waiting for the latest growth to increase in size a bit before I top. After that, I'll let it recover for a few days and hopefully start stretching a little bit. I'll add the SCROG net and start tucking the stems. This has been an interesting experiment so far. DAY 33: I finally have 8 viable tops forming. I'm just going to wait a few more days to pluck these massive fan leaves. That should be enough time for these main central sets of fan leaves to get a big bigger. Hopefully in a week to 2 weeks I'll be able to start really training her! She's done fantastic so far! The roots look nice and she's handling nutrients perfectly 👌

Finally done with topping! I have 8 nodes that will hopefully grow out over the next week. I’ve started training but without a bit longer stems, I’m not able to do significant training. I’ll likely let it grow out for a week and then start training into the SCROG net. Hope to switch to flowering in 2 or 3 weeks?

So far this plant has been doing great! I’m not sure I should have been as extreme as I was topping, but she pulled through and performed fantastically through it all! Now, I’m going to let her grow for a week or two to put in some height and produce a few more bud spots. I haven’t decided if I’m going to SCROG or not...not sure if it’s worth it. Maybe I should just learn the manifold process and not try to add more complexity with the SCROG? But I’ll likely get more bud with a SCROG... decisions decisions!

Great growth this week! I’ve been SCROGing her for about a week or so now. She’s really producing a lot of bud sites! I’m hoping she’ll grow a little taller so I can spread her out a bit more. She’s in 12/12 lighting, but I’m still giving her veg nutes. I’m keeping my eye on her growth.

She’s looking good! I switched to bloom nutrients and she’s already got some buds starting. I’m really interested to see how she does over the next week.

She’s looking great! I’m rrally happy with the bud formation over the past week. Will be watching over this next week for much of the same. She smells absolutely amazing, too. My cat is going nuts to get into the tent. 🐯

She’s looking great! She’s starting to really fill out...I’m hoping to see some nice density out of her! The next couple of weeks should be interesting. There’s a few spots on leaves from either cold or pH swings, but other than it dropping to 60 degrees (F), she’s been taken care of pretty well. I’ve dropped the humidity now to about 35%. We’ll see how she handles it.

She’s doing awesome! She smells soooo good! I can definitely smells hints of Critical in the tent, but definitely some pineapple like smell too. She’s loading up on trichomes...bulking up well! The next 3 weeks should be full of growth!

Plant smells awesome and is coated with trichomes. I think I waited too long to move her to Overdrive, but nevertheless, I can tell I'm going to enjoy smoking this strain! I can't even explain how heavenly the smell is. There is no strain I've grown to date that matches it. I'll likely start smoking her as soon as she's dried lol 😀 UPDATE: As of day 100, I swapped out the nutrients for Flawless Finish. Trichomes are cloudy and she looks and smells great! I'm really excited to try this strain.

While I would have liked a higher yield, I'm not going to complain about 1.3oz of Critical Jack. Right off the drying racks it's been a fun smoke! It's definitely an upper, which is awesome -- shows it sativa side in the high. After smoking the past couple of days, I notice the burnt smell of it smells just like pineapple. Really nice, but not overwhelming smell. It's not entirely pineapple, there are some earthy tones (that I think are part of the Critical heritage). She is caked in trichomes -- I couldn't get a good clear photo with my phone camera...but the pictures do not do her justice. Buds were surprisingly dense compared to some of my other grows. I should note, again, that this was my first mainline and my first SCROG. I'm not sure I did the mainline correct, and that may have affected the plants yield early on. It was fun, but I think going forward I'll just pack more plants in my tent instead of trying to play in the sandbox. SCROG is definitely an interesting concept, as it allowed a lot of light to the center of the plant. I just feel like it's more difficult to manage and harvest. With hydroponics, it can be tricky getting the buckets out when your plant is tied up in a net. With my inexperience with both mainlining and SCROGing, I'm not going to complain about the yield. I have a feeling that this plant could produce an easy 2-4oz if done correctly though. I'll likely be growing another one of these in the future. SMOKE REVIEW: Wow! It's been curing for about 5 days now, and its at a point where it's perfectly dried -- nice and fluffy to the squeeze. The nugs are nice and dense. I thought I would get nothing for yield, but all of the small little nugs harden up and become super dense. I still think I screwed up a bit and likely could have gotten a bigger yield, but that's for next time! Smoking this at day 5...it's amazing. It is definitely an upper. I am just super high...seriously, I can't remember a time I was this high. This strain is a 10.
