Planted one Canuk seed of Critical Mass. The seed opened after about 24 hours in a piece of soaked rockwool. I plan on using the plant in the cup as a mother and cutting 4 clones from her. The mother will be grown in a 3 gallon pot and the clones will grow in one gallon pots. A little limited on space so SOG is somewhat limited to a 2 x 4 tent.
So.. I let her grow for about 4 weeks and decided to cut some clones for a SOG setup. I harvested four of het lower branches to place in the clone dome. I know it is a little early. I am not sure if these cuts are strong enough to survive. However, I have plenty of time and the mother is growing strong. That being said, if things don't work out, I can just cut more and try again. Hopefully I can get an early start with the clones. Space is limited so the sooner the better. I did this with my Black Domina a while back and it worked out great. Hopefully this strain is as hearty as that one was.
Sorry for all the skipped weeks. Got a little preoccupied with life. The girl is still growing strong. I couldn't get any clones from her. I must have been doing something wrong. I tried twice and both times, all the cuttings died. No matter, I Trimmed all the lower foliage and plan to make the flip next week. I FIM'd the 8th node 4 weeks ago and ended up getting 6 main colas from it. Ran into a little N deficiency about a month ago too, she has responded well to the increase in nutrients. I think I'll let her recover over the next week, pluck any little sidebrances and then flip to flower next weekend.
Again. Sorry for the lack in updates finishing my last semester at University and it's taking most of my free time. This lady is cranking and starting smell skunky. A little bit of a fruity smell at times but mostly skunk. She is in the 4th week of flower and starting to fatten up. Still waiting to see those massive colas that the strain is known for. Not sure if I will see it though. I ran into a Ph problem in the second week of flower because my POS Ph meter went haywire. I bought a nice expensive one because the cheap ones seem to keep dying at the worst times.
She stopped growing mid stretch so she didn't gain any height as a result of the stress. I flushed the plant and she seems to have bounced right back. I also dropped my carbon filter on the plant when I was changing it and broke two of the main branches. I taped them back together and I hope she recovers from it. I guess we will see in the next week or so. I just can't seem to do right by this plant at the moment. Too many distractions. I also switched my lighting to a HPS lamp. 600W with adjustable power supply. I have it set at 450W and she seems to like it. Hope she fills out a little more in the next 5 to 6 weeks. However, after all she has been through over the last month I am not expecting much from her.
Started the flush this week. I plan on harvesting next week or two weeks from now. She has a few fat colas on her but nothing spectacular. I may pop another seed of this strain and give it another try. I couldn't devote enough time to this one to really make her happy. Oh well. I'll get what I can out of this one and try harder with the next one.
