Sandy‘s Tegridy Farm - Northern Lights

Hi there, my first run with seeds from RQS and Sweet Seeds. There are 4 plants in a tent. 2x Northern Lights from RQS and 2x Sweet Afgani from Sweet Seeds. Here I document the Northern Lights. I would be grateful for any tips. Fertilized with Biobizz. Growing still in potting compost, later Biobizz All-Mix with some coconut, worm humus and some perlite. 22.05: Seeds placed in a wet cloth for germination 26.05: All 4 seeds germinated and planted in 0.25L pots. Soil heavily moistened (not wet) 28.05: All 4 seeds have stuck their heads out of the soil Soil: Mixture of herb growing soil and about 20% coco soil Water: Watered with 75% tap water and 25% rainwater Water values: Calcium 73.5mg/l Magnesium 18.3mg/l Ratio 4:1 Adjustment with 6mg/l trimagnesium dicitrate to 24.3mg/l New ratio 3:1 Light: A cheap lamp with 110W actual power consumption is used for cultivation. Niello QB1100 Later in the growth phase, we will switch to the Sanlight Evo 4-80 Fertilizer: None at present - only repotting until flowering Update: 03.06 The little ones are growing. Soil was dipped 3/4 on 01.06 for 10min. The Northern Light 2 is slightly smaller than its sister. The edges of the leaves look strange but I think everything is fine. PS: I printed temporary supports for the little ones a few days ago because they already fell over in a little breeze😄 If its stupid and it works, it ain't stupid... I once heard. As soon as I see roots at the bottom they will be buried deeper in 2L pots. ————————— Moin, mein erster Run mit Samen von RQS und Sweet Seeds. Es stehen 4 Pflanzen in einem Zelt. 2x Northern Lights von RQS und 2x Sweet Afgani von Sweet Seeds. Hier dokumentiere ich die Northern Lights. Für Tipps bin ich dankbar. Gedüngt wird mit Biobizz. Aufzucht noch in Anzuchterde später dann Biobizz All-Mix mit etwas Kokos, Wurmhumus und zusätzlich noch etwas Perlite. 22.05: Samen zum Keimen in ein nasses Tuch gelegt 26.05: Alle 4 Samen gekeimt und in 0,25L Töpfe gepflanzt. Erde stark angefeuchtet (nicht nass) 28.05: Alle 4 Samen haben die Köpfe aus der Erde gestreckt Erde: Mischung aus Kräuter-Anzuchterde und etwa 20% Kokoserde Wasser: Gegossen wird mit 75% Leitungswasser und 25% Regenwasser Wasserwerte: Calcium 73,5mg/l Magnesium 18,3mg/l Verhältnis 4:1 Anpassung mit 6mg/l Trimagnesiumdicitrat auf 24,3mg/l Neues Verhältnis 3:1 Licht: Für die Anzucht wird eine günstige Lampe benutzt mit 110W tatsächlicher Leistungsaufnahme. Erde wurde am 01.06 3/4 getaucht für 10min. Die Blattränder schauen komisch aus aber denke alles im Rahmen. Die Northern Light 2 ist etwas kleiner als die ihre Schwester. PS: Hatte mir vor ein paar Tagen provisorische stützen für die kleinen gedruckt weil sie bei einer kleinen Brise schon umgefallen sind😄 If its stupid and it works, it ain‘t stupid… habe ich mal gehört. Sobald ich unten wurzeln sehe werden sie tiefer vergraben in 2L Töpfe

06.07: Repotted in 2L pots and then allowed to soak up water from below. The small ones were planted deeper into the soil to counteract the sprouting. Soil: Biobizz All-Mix with approx. 20% coconut, some worm humus and additional perlite. The little ones are developing well. The one Northern Light is developing somewhat more slowly. But I think everything is normal. The 0.25L pots showed nice roots. I couldn't detect any repotting stress the next morning. Hopefully it will stay that way. Originally I wanted to put the little ones in the 11L pots straight away, but as I'm still using the small light at the moment, the lighting wouldn't be as good on the surface. In 7-10 days they will then go into the 11L pots and under the Sanlight. Update 08.06 (Vegi Day 10) Two days after repotting you can clearly see how the little ones like the new 2L pot. For me, the advantage of the 2L pots is that they are easier to water. With the two liters I can still put them in a bowl of water and let them soak. The 1/3 rule is very helpful as a guideline. I've tried watering a few times with my other soil mix and now always water 25% of the pot volume from the bottom and top at 60% of the weight. This seemed to me to be the optimum balance between moist and wet for my soil. ————————— 06.07: Umgetopft in 2L Töpfe und anschließend von unten mit Wasser vollsaugen lassen. Die kleinen wurden tiefer in die Erde gepflanzt um dem spargeln entgegenzuwirken. Erde: Biobizz All-Mix mit ca. 20% Kokos, etwas Wurmhumus und zusätzlichen Perlite. Die kleinen entwickeln sich gut. Die eine Northern Light entwickelt sich etwas langsamer. Denke aber alles normal. Die 0,25L Anzuchttöpfe zeigten schöne Wurzeln. Umtopfstress konnte ich am nächsten Morgen noch keinen erkennen. Das bleibt hoffentlich auch so. Ursprünglich wollte ich die kleinen gleich in die 11L Töpfe setzen aber da ich aktuell noch das kleine Licht benutze wäre die ausleuchtung nicht mehr so gut auf die Fläche. In 7-10 Tagen kommen sie dann in die 11L Töpfe und unter die Sanlight. Update 08.06 ( Vegi Day 10) Zwei Tage nach dem Umtopfen sieht man deutlich wie den kleinen der neue 2L Topf gefällt. Der Vorteil in den 2L Töpfen ist für mich das einfachere Gießen. Mit den zwei Litern kann ich sie noch problemlos in eine Schale mit Wasser stellen und sie vollsaugen lassen. Die 1/3 Regel ist sehr hilfreich als Richtwert. Ich habe mit meiner übrigen Erdmischung ein paar Versuche mit dem gießen gemacht und gieße jetzt immer bei 60% des Gewichtes 25% des Topfvolumens von unten und von oben. Das erschien mir die für meine Erde das optimale zwischen feucht und Nass.

13.06 Repotted in 11L pots and watered with 1L of water. The two are developing somewhat differently. In appearance and height. They are both healthy and growing well. 17.06 Both Northern Lights were topped just above the 5th node. The lowest shoots of the 1st node were removed as well as the top pair of leaves. I topped my first time and have now tried topping further up so that it is the same height as Sweet Afgani. ————————— 13.06 Umgetopft in 11L Töpfen und mit 1L Wasser angegossen. Die beiden entwickeln sich etwas unterschiedlicher. Vom aussehen und der Höhe. Gesund sind sie beide und wachsen gut. 17.06 Beide Northern Light wurden kurz über der 5. Nodie getoppt. Die untersten Triebe der 1. Nodie wurden entfernt sowie das oberste Blattpaar. Ich toppe mein erstes mal und habe jetzt versucht weiter oben zu toppen damit sie von der Höhe wieder mit der Sweet Afgani gleich ist.

Day 23 Both are doing well and I can't see any problems. The shoots are being tied down as far as possible. The Northern Light are developing slowly and the shoots are still very small or short ————————— Tag 23 Den beiden geht es gut und ich kann keine Probleme erkennen. Die Triebe werden soweit es möglich ist weiter runtergebunden. Die Northern Light entwickeln sich nur langsam und die Triebe sind noch sehr klein bzw. kurz

Day 37 The last few days I have been trying to remedy a magnesium deficiency. I have noticed that I am probably not watering optimally. Too little too soon So far: 1.5L every 2-3 days New: 2L every 3-4 days I hope with the new watering schedule the deficiency will also disappear ————————— Tag 37 Die letzten Tage habe ich versucht einen Magnesiummangel zu beheben. Ich habe bemerkt, dass ich vermutlich nicht optimal gieße. Zu früh zu wenig Bisher: 1,5L alle 2-3 Tage Neu: 2L alle 3-4 Tage Ich hoffe mit dem neuen Gießenschema verschwindet auch der Mangel

Flower Day 1 / Day 45 Today is the first day of flowering. The little ones are on the mend. Thanks to everyone who has helped. I've learned a lot again and finally enjoy looking into my box again. Flowering day 11 / day 55 The Northern Light are growing beautifully. So far I'm delighted with their performance. The stretch is there but it is limited. Just right, I would say. —————————

Day 62 / BT 18 Lollipopping was on the calendar this week. I think a little more could be taken away but not too bad. From this week on I will start a comparison with Biobizz and Greenhouse Powder feeding for the remaining 6-7 weeks. Of the 2 varieties, each variety will continue to receive Biobizz once and Greenhouse Feeding once. I am curious to see if I notice a difference. ————————— Tag 62 / BT 18 Diese Woche stand Lollipopping im Kalender. Ich glaube es könnte noch etwas mehr weggenommen werden aber auch nicht schlimm. Ab dieser Woche beginne ich für die restlichen 6-7 Wochen einen Vergleich mit Biobizz und Greenhouse Powder feeding. Von den 2 Sorten bekommt jede Sorte einmal weiter Biobizz und einmal Greenhouse Feeding. Ich bin gespannt, ob ich einen unterschied feststelle.

Flowering day 26 / day 70 After I had a shortage in between, they are now almost over-fertilized. They are getting a dark green color which is too dark for flowering. From now on I'll just give them some flowering fertilizer and then I hope it will work for the rest of the run. The ratio between flowers and leaves is now getting worse but at least I've learned something. ————————— Blütetag 26 / Tag 70 Nachdem ich zwischendurch einen Mangel hatte sind sie jetzt schon fast überdüngt. Sie bekommen eine dunkelgrüne Farbe was mir für die Blüte zu dunkel ist. Ab jetzt gibt es nur noch etwas Blütedünger und dann hoffe ich klappt es den rest des runs noch. Das Verhältnis zwischen Blüten und Blätter wird jetzt schlechter aber immerhin etwas dazugelernt.

The last days are approaching. 3 main buds have already fallen victim to the mold. Hopefully there won't be any more. The summer temperatures in the tent were simply too high. It was up to 36 degrees in the tent. The buds are heavy and really dense
