Popped some new beans last week and these are the results so far... I haven't started with nutes yet. I'm going to add some microbial additives next week to help develop the root zone. I plan to top one of these and leave the other alone to compare the results. I still have 6 more of these beans so it will be good data to have. My basic plan is to do a couple autoflower runs during the winter and spring months before switching back to photoperiod plants.
Cruising along here in early veg. It is so dry this time a year that my humidifier is struggling to keep moisture in the air. I've got it stabilized between 55-65% RH. Before I purchased the humidifier the environment was between 35-40%. As you can compare the 2 sets of photos taken 2 days apart the plants increased in size by about 35%. The next node should have 5 point fan leaves. I had some stretching issues so I lowered the lights this week from 18" above the canopy to 12". Next week I'll start to add some microbes to the feed.
Plants are starting to increase in size but growth is remaining slow. I believe this is because of the environment. I've 3 tents in one room, all with different needs. I've got one finishing up with late flowering, the other is being used to dry and this one is being used for veg. I'm going to move these into the tent that is drying by the next weekend.
This week we topped one girl and then moved both into the flowering tent. On day 23 we stopped using the 216w T5 lighting and started to use the 315w Cmh lighting. For this run I will start out with the light closer to the canopy and raise it as time goes by or as needed. I also plan on using an 18/6 lighting schedule. Once flowering starts I'll switch to Advanced Nutrients but I'll use 1/4 strength.
The plants are filling out very nice. One thing to note is that there is no way these will be done in 3 more weeks. Both plants showed pre flowers at the start of the week and have transitioned to bloom. I'll be switching the nutes over to bloom feeding next week.
I switched over to Advanced Nutrients this week. I'll be using this lineup throughout the rest of the grow cycle. I'm using 1/4 of the recommended dosages for feeding. Flower sites are starting to form and the plants are stretching to various heights.
Both of these phenos stayed short and stocky. Node spacing and flower development are excellent. Probably 4-6 weeks to finish at this point. They're always happy and perky. I've never had plants with fan leaves stand up straight like that.
Both plants are starting to get pungent. A nice, sweet, fruity odor is starting to develop. I fed them Big Bud in the beginning of the week and switched it out for Overdrive last night. I placed all of the short plants in this tent onto buckets to bring them closer to the light. I also did some light defoliation so most of the buds were more exposed to the light. Maybe another week or so of nutrient feeding and then it will be time to flush.
I increased the Overdrive and Bud Candy this week and at the same time stopped the Big Bud bloom booster. Both phenos have a nice fruity scent and are starting to pack on a little weight. I'm still waiting on more pistils to turn brown and the trichomes to develop a little further. Most likely will start to flush by the end of the week. The other thing that is noticeable are the trichomes. They're getting really frosty with about 2-5% amber. I'm hoping to finish up around week 12-13.
Green Crack is fading oh so nice... One of the phenos is packing on a lot of weight now that its flushing. Smells very fruity and is also very frosty. About 10 more days until harvest.
Trichomes on both plants are cloudy with a few amber here and there. I'm estimating about 3%. Flushing both plants with FloraKleen this week. Getting a beautiful fade mixing yellow and green on the fan leaves. Although the nugs on these 2 phenos look very different, they're both very frosty and plump. Both stacked on more weight this past week. There's 7-14 days to go before I start to harvest.
On day 83 before I flushed them again I check the trichomes and was satisfied that it was good enough to harvest both phenos. Both were moved into darkness and will be harvested 48 hours later on day 85 (12 weeks + 1 day). Both are very fragrant and frosty! I'm also glad I have plenty of flower available to smoke. I can let these dry for 10-21 days and cure for 3 weeks before the smoke sesh. I'm itchin to get my virgin taste buds on some fast buds!
Not really much to add here. Except for the speed of the autoflower I am extremely pleased growing this strain and I look forward to growing it again. Simple enough for a beginner and very enjoyable for the experienced. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to check out the grow and/or comment.
