Blackberry is a strain I've always wanted to try after seeing it in the cannabible as a teenager just for its beauty alone.
Was weird to see my veg tent empty. Harvested last auto-flower and got all the old moms out and completely cleaned and sterilized everything. Been giving my old moms to my friends to flower out after I get fresh cuttings and need to make room. And I have my new moms in my propagation tent as to not bring fungus to my new plants until i know they are safe. So this run will have a bit more space and light to grow. It was the first to sprout out of the 4 seeds I just germinated an. Germination took 4 days. I Let them float in distilled water overnight. Then I gave them a tap to seed if they would sink to bottom of cup and once they did I sow directly into my 5 gallon pots. I used pretty much all recycled soil this time with the exception of my seed start mix that I had made up covering the top 2 inches of the pots along with a small crater in the center for for the seedling to be happy in the first two weeks. This method seems to work well for me. Only time it did not work was with the two other Neville's seeds i had but they apparently have a poor germination rate as it is and i did it in a 30-gallon from start to finish. My last auto flowers have been filling out the 5-gallon pots and I think next time will try 7-gallons and see if it improves the yield, but I had 5 gallons left to use first.
Moving along nicely. Top dressed with some Mykos then watered the pot once at the beginning of the week to even out the moisture in the pot and let it dry out and let the roots search down for the water. Each plant got about 1/4 gallon. May be another few days still before I water as the pots still have weight (water at the bottom). The seedlings seem to like fairly intense light right from the start like into 300 ppfd range. I had the light slightly dimmed as not to burn them but they stretch for the light anyway to i cranked it back up. Not sure if you noticed, but not going to do individual updates for some weeks in the same run as I do the same thing to all the plants in certain transition weeks its more comprehensible to just have a general update.
Looking very nice. Watered once this week. They got their first feed of some cal-mag and liquid kelp. Also gave a little coconut water to help the root development. Looks to be a nice strong plant so far!
Shes taking off now. Fed the plants Boogie brew this week and they loved it. 1/2 cup of each per 5 gallons of water brewed around 20 hours. Nice healthy green growth and already some big fan leaves. Hope she puts on a few more branches before going to flower.
It looks like it is the last week of veg for the blackberry auto. She's gotten pretty tall since last week and shooting some pistols. Noticed the new growth has some yellowing on the tips right as it comes in but goes away as the leaf grows in. I think this is from the soil drying out between waterings too much for this plant and ppms in soil got a little high as a result. She only got watered since this week. But it was a heavy watering I had runoff I had to dump. Going to aim for two waterings this week. And top dress with dry amendments.
First week of flower shes doing pretty good but looks like the soil dried out just a little to much resulting in a high ec/ acidic ph that caused a little leave-tip burn. Its not to severe but looks kind if ugly. I forgot that auto-flowers tend to not need as much as photoperiods. Buds are growing fast and showing cool purple color already. Was thinking i may need to top dress based on the other auto i grew but im going to wait for this one because it seems to not be as hungry as the others. Blackberry more or less has its own 4x4 space now.
Buds are developing well. Very dark purple colors on the leaves and buds. After watering a little more deeply the plant tool nicely to that and started to perk up and pray and the leaf tip burn started to fade back to green in some spots. Only watered one time just a little more volune. My sister got a new kitten and he's awesome so decided to take some pictures for the pet contest.
Cant believe its only week 3 of flower the buds are already huge. Although a little airy due to my humidity being ver high they are still dense. I should be able to get the humidity down this week with getting my veg plants in the flower tent. Smelling very nice fuely pine and citrusy berry fruit. Color is amazing and deep purple.
She was harvested this week only 4 weeks of flower. I didn't want to risk bud rot because humidity was in the 70's the entire flower but could have went a little longer. Also have drying room setup and was able to just pop it in there. Buds look awesome , not too fluffy and nice white trichomes. Plant had some weight and a nice big main cola. I can't wait to rip into some of this.
Drying ended after 12 days. Trimming took around 1 1/2 hours and was really easy. No real small or larfy buds to speak of. I'm surprised how well it did considering how high the humidity was in flower it is a very resilient plant. Smoked pretty well off the bat, but needs just a little time to smoke the best. After curing for a month is super smooth and makes fore a very nice dubes. its almost gone! My friend loved it.
