Pictures with a very cheap digital usb microscope from china - which has exactly 2 zoom levels where it is possible to see something π
19.06. planted into normal plant earth (nothing special - really just dirt grabbed from the store)
20.06. 2cm tall - so far not using special cannabis soil is working out OK - no nutrients added

Some small flies made their home in the soil... I did add nematodes but it seems not 100% effective.

MicroNighthawk sooo... the 2nd seed seems to be growing MUCH faster than the 1st one...
I might have to switch up my strategy of growing the 1st one for harvesting and the 2nd one for making feminized seeds...
if the 2nd MW outgrows the 1st - I will either switch their containers or get a second growbag
08-05: earth recycling may have been a mistake - or the tap water's ph is too high again... well - I am pretty sure the second seed will grow nicer anyway so this one may be turned into a seed-shooter

MicroNighthawk some small spots on the first, bigger MW... since I was sloppy with earth, ph and nutrients - I am using the first MW for making feminized seeds.
I just re-potted the second, smaller MW into a 11l fabric pot with "canna terra professional plus" soil.
both plants won't fit into my tiny, battered 40x40x120cm tent so I will keep the first MW outside on the terrace.
I tied a blue ribbon around the left branch and sprayed it with colloidal silver to become male... the right branch will stay female. shaking the plant should then give me seeds ππ
the new MW is growing a bit faster but higher than the one I am now using to make feminized seeds... I topped her and will switch to 12:12 soon

MicroNighthawk The 2nd seed I started in WEEK-5 seems to be growing a bit faster than the 1st one.
Remembering from last time that MW triples in size when flowering - I will wait just a bit longer.
The clone I cut last week (08-18) and put into a water jar seems to be doing OK.

MicroNighthawk Original Plant: looking good! but the colloidal silver does not seem to really have an effect so far even though it is 100PPM and i spray half of the plant 3 times a day
New Seed: going very strong after 2 toppings and in the tiny 4l fabric pot
Old cutting: zero roots... does not look too healthy anymore - I just now re-cut it and dipped it into cinnamon and honey (didn't do that the 1st time)

MicroNighthawk 09-04: cut off lower branches of non-seed producing test plant - so now I have 4 new cuttings dipped in cinnamon and honey and put into water with some aspirin in it
the first plant I keep spraying with colloidal silver (1 of the 2 branches on it) does not show any signs of becoming partially male... :(

MicroNighthawk I am no longer hopeful, that the first plant will produce seeds... I keep spraying half of it with colloidal silver and have been for a while now... certainly more than 2 weeks... You can see on the picture: beautiful buds are forming - that are no longer safe for consumption for fear of argyira.
So I guess the entire plant needs to be doused with CS - not just half of it. Or I am doing something wrong...
The 2nd plant is stretching as expected - it grew about 20-25cm in the last 2 weeks since switching to 12:12.
have any of you ever tried spraying only 1 (the bigger one) of the 2 main branches of your plants grown from a feminised seed with colloidal silver in order to create more seeds? I tried and am pretty sure the experiment failed...
Regardless, remember any CS applied means that plant is not to be smoked or used for extracts. it's toxic to humans.
Did you buy the CS pre-bottled? Those "500ppm" bottles on amazon and health stores are rarely 500ppm. From what i've seen, the DIY rigs with a batter and a silver coin are far, far better options than the bottled shit that lies through their teeth.. typical of a nonsense supplement producing company, lol... some people think drinking CS is good for their health, bwahaha.
Look into Silver Thiosulfate. Sigma-aldritch has a spot-on recipe that needs to be diluted from 20mM to 2-3mM. so 1:5.67 or 1:9 dilution.

That is a 20 mM (millimole) concentration. Doesn't matter if you knwo what that means. It's the same math. You need to dilute it to 2-3 mM. they do not mention this.
don't get smart with the directions and try to make a 2-3 mM stock solution. It is a double replacement reaction, so stick to the directions and then dilute.
It's a very easy thing to do. STS is more consistent than CS. Buying the silver nitrate and sodium thiosulfate (anhydrous) off ebay is 20x cheapr than buying the 'branded' STS kits. 25usd will get you 9 gallons? or was it 9 Liters... either way.. for the price of 8-16oz kits, you get a shit ton more.
Also, it has a very short shelf life once mixed. The dry components can sit on a shelf forever if kept dark.

MicroNighthawk #1 - for seeds - failed to turn partially male - I guess I did not drench her enough with my 100ppm CS?
#2 - for consumption - is still stretching... the lights can't really go higher anymore - maybe 1-2cm? and on the bottom I already changed the 3cm water trap for a 0.5cm plate catching pretty much almost no water if I go overboard...
For the main plant now (#2) - she is 4-5 weeks younger then this diary!
The 2 cuttings I made have developed roots but they are not really keen on growing a lot... or at all.
If they survive - and start growing in a few weeks that would be perfect - as I only have 1 tent.

MicroNighthawk I really... really really need a bigger tent. The sativas I tend to love are just too stretchy. :)
The young MauiWaui is growing very healthy - I really like the soil mix I used: Canna Terra Professional Plus
It remains airy and seems to do very well with the nutrients I give. I think I prefer it to my usual BioBizz Light Mix.

MicroNighthawk by the way - all my cutlings died on me except 1 but that one is doing OK. it was the top part i cut from the main plant
sje stretched too high and got a little burned. I also cut down on feeding her nutrients. must check if over or underfeeding her currently...

I also cut off a new clone from the 2nd topping i did on the now main plant of the second seed.

Did I made a mistake feeding my MauiWaui (fem) - or is this just elaborate light-burn because the LED distance was about 2cm?
Due to a massive lack in space I do not give her too much water... and yes - I may not have checked PH in a while.
I don't think its overfed or light burn.Nute burn would be dark/crisp,and light stress would show more on the top. Looks like the plant just using up whats in the leaves because it is almost done flowering. and if you underwatering it's going to speed that process up if you are close. I would at least check the ph of your solution going in.
MicroNighthawk The fan leaves are not turning out to be as beautifully multicolored as on my previous MauiWaui - but I started the last grow later in the year, so I guess it's due to the temperature. =)
I also have a silicon thermo heating cable wrapped around my pot now.
10-18: last 2 waterings only tap
10-18: Closeups show maybe 70-80% milky - couldn't find amber
10-20: my first plant (the one that started this diary and got turned into a seeder - but failed) got bud-rot... bad.
both main colas were infected - so I threw most of it away. the rest (small budlets that didn't get sprayed) that was not infected will be turned into edibles
But this was enough of a shock for me to turn my fans in my tent to max and harvest my first bud of the #2nd MauiWaui (now the main plant in this diary) with 90% cloudy trichomes should be good.
I also turned on my tiny dehumidifier. and put it in the tent. Should have done that earlier... but I did not find anything sus on the girl in my tent.

@ErikoHashimoto, yes - I believe she is a little shy after being cold stored for 2 years... I am thinking about growing the last seed I have of that batch and use colloidal silver to make it produce more feminized seeds. buying seeds for 10β¬ a piece seems silly when a little plant will throw off at least 100...
@MicroNighthawk, Yea the real price of a cannabis seed is nearly nothing , for 10β¬ you normally get a 1kg Bag of Seeds.
Its that the breeders and Distributor do wanna make thier money, somehow fair because they have to make a living too.
Normally you buy Seeds one time and reproduce them by your own.
@ErikoHashimoto, yeah - there were a few flies and the seed is very old... but I am hopeful. plus its feminized - not auto - so I have some time and leeway ;)
