Decided to put in the next ones but it's gonna be a little bit staggered due to space constraints. Zkittles week one, lemon AK week 2 and Stardawg TBA.
Setup:
1x Fastbuds Zkittles Auto. (Labelled as c.a but I think it's the new Zkittles promo seeds)
1x Fastbuds Lemon AK. (Labeled as l.a but I think its the new Lemon AK promo seeds)
1x Fastbuds Stardawg later.
Light: 250w HPS for veg and bloom. Expecting a little stretching but ready to tie them down.
Fans: 2x mini USB clip on fans. Off amazon for 7.99 each. Extraction is a manrose mf100t at 144CFM. Wouldn't recommend it as you have to wire it yourself look for one that has a plug attached. Passive intake.
Soil: Biobizz Allmix.
Nutes: Biobizz grow, bloom and topmax with bioheaven possibly to come. Vitalink cal mag just in case.
Tent: 60cm x 60cm x 120cm. Quite small but I'm hoping to keep the plants low.
20 hour light cycle throughout.
Nice progress from the Zkittles. Stretched a little as expected though haha. Planted the lemon AK exactly 7 days after the zkittles popped so should be about 10 days behind.
The Zkittles has had some amazing growth this week. Gonna need to top it i think, maybe tomorrow as it already has a few nodes. Lemon AK is about a week behind. Very excited for these ones! Might add a little bio grow this week to the Zkittlez, not sure yet look ok without.
Zkittlez is growing very nicely think its about to start flowering. Lemon AK is slower but still looking nice considering its about 10 days older. Topped the zkittles and its responding well, got 2 tops where there was only 1. Tied it down as vertical space is very limited for me. Can't get too tall.

I have noticed some brown spots developing on my zkittlez. Not sure what it is but doesnt look good haha. I uploaded a video today witht the affected parts.

Hello! It is really hard to tell at that early stage , 1st it makes me think of a Magnesium deficiency due to the purple stems of your leaves but when I take a look at your day and night temps there is a 11°C gap that can explain it and your cal mag amount is correct.
When I take a look at the edge of the leaves and the tips they appear burnt and some leaves have little dots which makes me think of a Phosphorous deficiency at a early stage because the petioles ( stem of the leaves) are turning purple and the dark/blueish green is also a sign. What you need to do is to decrease the Bio grow amount and increase the Bio bloom to make the balance. I hope it will help you ✌️🏼😁
Lemon AK is stretching skywards as somebody suggested it would haha. Topped it and I'm gonna tie it down similarly to the zkittles which is flowering nicely now with trichs becoming visible. Dunno how much more stretching is to come but it's nice and low at the moment. Stopped grow and increased bloom stuff cos of the leaf spots and yellowing.
So, upped the bloom nutes and gonna try water a little more often and not let it dry out so much. Zkittlez is starting to bulk up nicely and looks pretty frosty. Lemon AK is stretching wildly as predicted and I'm struggling to keep it low lol. Kinda succeeding and I think the worst of it is over now. Starting to throw out a lot of pistils. Hoping the zkittles improves with the added nutes.
Still having issues with the zkittles so I have lowered the nutes to 1ml per litre of calmag bloom and topmax. Covered in tri homes and smells absolutely fantastic can't wait to taste it. Lemon AK is a beast of a plant. It would have become a tree if I hadn't had to tie it down and cut it. Pistils are shooting out rapidly but no trichs as of now. Added bio grow back .5ml per litre as leaves are yellowing looks like nitrogen?
Going slow on the nutes for both girls now. Zkittles is on day 51 from seed and lemon AK is on day 42. Lemon starting to form buds and zkittles is getting fat :)
So gonna stick with 1ml/l for the rest of the grow now, i think the problems were just too much in the soil and since lowering nutes the problems are slowing down. Another week or two for the Zkittlez, seeing amber on the sugar leaves but not quite on the buds yet although it is mostly cloudy. Lemon AK is behing as it was germed later but still looks to be forming some nice buds and now has a fantastic smell of its own. Looking forward to these so much cant wait!!!!
Massive fattening this week from the Lemon AK, shes a big one. Another 2-3 weeks and she might be ready! Zkittles is maturing, but slower than i had hoped :( another week at least i think. but thats about what everyone else gets. Both of these plants are very true to their names and smell spot on. Lower nute intake seems to be working somewhat so im gonna keep it this way till the end.
Made a big error this week and forgot to water these guys for about 5 days.
They did not enjoy it and dried up a lot, but theyre not dead yet! The Zkittlez shouldnt have been affected too badly cos it was nearly done, i hope the lemon ak will revover tho and keep bulking up. I am going to cut down the Zkittlez this week, and leave the lemon a couple more. It looks much bulkier just not dense so gonna leave it a little longer.
Lemon AK is getting really fat this week. Smell isnt as strong as the zkittlez but it definitely smells lemony. Looks a little airy as its foxtailing quite a bit i think. Just too hot damnit. Zkittlez is conspicuously missing this week....will see why next week :)
This strain smells great and tastes nice already. Fingers smell of skittles after handling it, very pleased with the result. Buds are nice and dense and very nice to look at in my humble opinion haha. Will definitely grow this strain again.

Seems fairly easy to grow despite my forgetting to water on many occasions. not sure it responded well to topping ill have to try one without. Best bud ive grown so far, heres to the next!!!!
Lots of fattening this week lots of foxtailing too though. Plant smells strong of citrus and I can't wait to try her. Trichs not looking too amber yet but I hear some just dont, so I've pulled a small bit off to try. Watch this space!
So, had an awful week here, outside temps are rising and my plant is getting fucked up. Super low humidity and super high temps are fucking her right up. Loads of foxtailing, lost all smell, feels kinda crispy despite daily watering. Need rid of this HPS lamp but money is tight so probably just gonna pull the plug entirely. Real shame.
Really like this strain. Tastes very much like lemon with something else behind it, like a bit of power. Very impressed with these new strains. Will definitely run it again.
Had real issues with heat throughout and can't be helped with a hot hps lamp. Looking to get a quantum board for the future for sure. Buds were very hard to trim and I kind of gave up trying too hard.

Hey, thanks for the input. Not sure about runoff pH, my batteries died on my pH reader cos I left it on and need calibration powder. I was adjusting to 6.5 going in and the soil is 6.5, but I'll get it working again to test and grab an ec meter too. Never tested that before. Now regarding runoff, I water until it starts coming out the bottom which is usually 2 litres or so every 2 days. But within 10 mins it's all sucked back up into the soil. Do I need to water more until it stays in the runoff tray?
Hey, I really like that you put up some vids on the zkittlez trichs. Now I can plan my flush much better I´ve heard that 2 weeks flush in soil is good or can I do 10days maybe ?

So, flushing. Tbh I think that flushing is a lot of bro science haha. I used organic nites (biobizz) which don't have any active chemicals, they simply feed the soil which in turn feed the plant. I've seen in a lot of sources that these are fine to feed up until harvest, so that's what I did.
With chemical nutes I think that a flush may be beneficial, but you can never remove anything from the plant by flushing it, only stop more going in. I think flushing originally referred to when you pour loads and loads of water through the plant to clear salts from the soil, and found its way into everybody's grows. For chem nutes I would give plain water for a week or so, but never used myself so take that with a pinch of salt haha.
I did see a paper on why it was pointless and that looked into the plant mechanisms but can't find it now unfortunately.
I am growing a few fast buds strains at the moment but from all the diarys on here is seems that there strains are very unstable and unpredictable ? Some are very spindelly and some very bushy ?
It looks as if I have been lucky as all of mine have bushed out , so pray for a good result

Hey bud, I think the biggest thing is growing from seed will always have variations. Need a lot of time and inbreeding to make a strain stable. I've only experience with barneys and fastbuds, but these two I have here are absolutely spot on. The lemon smells like lemon and the zkittles smells like sweets. The stardawg I grew was really not up to par but I'll attribute that to my lack of experience. The barneys seeds were not as good as I was expecting so as I direct personal comparison I prefer fastbuds so far. Gonna try the tangerine dream again though, love the tangie :)))

If your Lemon AK are anything like mine you're going to have a real battle on your hands keeping it out of the lights. Make your own decision about how to accomplish that but my suggestion is top and then LST early and often. I figured it out too late to top or scrog so I've had to supercrop on addition to LST. Without the bends, the tallest one would be 121cm in week 7 and still growing.

Thanks for the input! I had a look around at others and it does look to be a tall plant haha. I'm gonna top this week and try keep it as low as possible. May not be able to though 😑
