Beautiful plants @blacklake ! The ladies look really healthy.
Can you tell some more about the sensors that you use?
Best of luck for the coming weeks!
@blacklake, Hi there, yes, please excuse my delay, but I somehow missed your reply.
What type of soil moisture sensor did you use and what was your experience with that particular model?
I am asking because I have never encountered a "hobbyist" grade soil moisture sensor that did not degrade rapidly, the conductive ones did oxidize even in AC pulsed mode, the capacitive ones encountered massive signal drift and even my diy solution did drift, so it might be my slmore my soil and less the sensors.
I know of a few industrial solutions like porosity pressure or colorimetric heating, I just haven't found a solution for home applications.
Or for that matter an affordable professional kit.
@blacklake,
I would love to know more about your soil moisture sensors and your experience using them.
I did try a lot of the cheap conductive and capacitive ones, I even build one capacitive myself, but I always had issues with signal drift, rendering my automation completely useless.
Best regards and happy grow.
PS:
hash is the way to go in Germany, there's still the 7.5 g THC is never a negligible amount ruling, but at least you can easily stay below the 50 g threshold.
@groen, my whole system (also lights and heating) is based on Home Assistant.
* Lamp is controlled by an Aqara smart plug: https://www.aqara.com/eu/product/smart-plug-eu/
* I installed an Aqara Light Sensor T1 to see if my automation works. The growbox is in the basement and I had problems with signal strength. But turns out, everything worked flawlessly
* SONOFF SNZB-02D Zigbee Temperature and Humidity Sensor
* I added soil moisture sensors using ESP8266 flashed with ESPhome. Really easy (but I'm a developer, so maybe not so easy). There are plenty of tutorials.
Any specific questions?
