Seed wasn’t buried far enough in the peet pod, so the shell didn’t come completely off. I had to remove it manually, which is why the cotelydons look weird.
I read somewhere that a 2 liter bottle would work well as a dome, especially because it’s easy to vent out the top. Figured I’d check it out. I need to clean out my pan. Wait...I need to find my pan...
Showing the damaged cotalydon.

Other than having to remove the shell, the only other real issue was having to re-wire the dimmer; the dimmer, which came connected to the power plug of the driver, needs to be constantly powered in order to work with the timer, so I had to disconnect its power from the driver and wire in its own plug. Temperatures were running 101° at 24” and 100% power with the dimmer removed (I removed it at first to see how hot it would get).
With temps running that high at 100%, I’m worried about temps when it moves into the other tent (3x3x5), but the stronger charcoal exhaust fan should take care of most of it.
Germinated from seed in peet plug for 5 days, then put the whole plug into a solo cup. 18/6, QB 240 at 50% from 18” in a 2x2x4 veg tent, vented on bottom with a 4” desk fan exhaust out top. Currently under a 2 liter Dr Pepper dome at 84° and 77% humidity. Will do this for another week, then pull the dome while slowly increasing light output.
