Day 3 we have action....May the growing commence.
I will pre soak the 4" Rockwall blocks today for 24 hrs in 5.5 ph'd water with a splash of formulex. Then let them dry out, by that Tim my roots should be well on there way in the jiffy blocks I started the seeds in.
Only have half a plant going by that pic.
Now planted other 3 beans incase this one a mute.
Put into 4" rockwool blocks that have been pre soaked. Waiting now for the roots to appear and let them air trim hence no spreader Matt on the tray. I let the blocks dry out to about 80% then 're-dip the blocks in nutrients (only bottom half of the block) to get a good root system going.
Looking forward to these babies :-)

Waiting on the roots to make an appearance. Once they have air trimmed I'll sit them on a tray in the veg room til they big enough for flower

Roots have come thru the blocks. I've now sat them on my veg table and I will run the pump a few minutes every few days so the blocks almost dry out to make the roots come on more and go searching for water
I'm well impressed so far. Growing at rapid rate. The roots have air trimmed enough so I've sat them on some spreader Matt and will run the pump a few minutes a day. This will get the roots togo searching for water as i dont want to saturate the blocks.
These will be going into flowering soon as they are going to fill the table well. I have 5 to put on a 5 ft version of what's in the photos. :-)
Moved over to flower tent now...I used the best 4 out of 5 plants to put on this 5ft table with 50ltr tank under it.
Im using veg feed til I see flower in a couple of weeks
Looking great ...lovely colour. Have stretched well in a week and filled out the table. I've removed some massive shade leaves!...
These will look even more amazing next week considering what they've already in a week...

Changing the water this morning for flowering feed as the the flower is just about to pop out. Have been keeping the ph a little lower on this grow as it says on spliffseeds write up about it. They also say it can take a high Ec but im keeping it low with the canna as it needs a 3 week flush to rid of the salts in this synthetic feed...if you keep it to high an Ec with canna it makes a unpleasant smoke especially with a short flush
Defoliated a little today too, the plants are taking on a nice shape and have stretched well.
I hope they stretch a bit more...I'm thinking maybe a weeks veg more may of helped but im limited on height and dont need them hitting the ceiling.
Took some clones last week as i know I'll love this smoke :-)

Would normally change water weekly but I've topped up with 10ltrs of water to the fil level and added 60ml of A and B and 25 ml more zym.
This is managing the tank and feed it saves water and I been doing it so long now i could do it standing on my head lol
The plants themselves are looking great I think now they will finish at nice height for my tent. Lots of white flowers appearing now....
Sticking to the ph spliffseeds recommended but I can't go with a strong Ec with canna as is a bitch to flush out
Looking great again this week...Will have a lovely forest coming the way these have stretched. Changed the water and have upped the feed slightly... I've held off with the pk on the 5th week as I'll wait for bit more of a flower first..
The root zone is looking healthy too

The tank need well over half to refill so I've feed them Mondays feed today(friday) with added pk 13 14
Im now running An Ec of 1.2 and ph of 5.8...Will need good flush at the end to rid of the synthetic feed but i can see these will be monsters so I've ramped up the feed a bit
Absolutely awesome looking plants...I can't wait for this forest of bud... at end of last week I chucked in the pk13 14 and some more flower feed as the flower come on well in the week ...
I tore up the rule book on this grow and fed them a bit more than i normally do as i can see these are going to be great looking buds. Spliffseeds write up say they can handle a high Ec and I think an Ec of 1.4 is pushing it with the food i use ....I'm seeing the colour drop early on other crops that are flushing so I think i will be ok with this crop...
Chucked in the dehumidifier as i got some fat buds on the otherside of tent and my humdity was getting high
Looking fantastic again this week...my forest is coming...smell great, good strong roots and the buds are swelling nice...I have left the same feed and pk in for 4 or 5 days more but have diluted it down to Ec of 1.2 with a ph'd bucket of 5.8 plain water ....then on to flush for 3 weeks
Wow is all i can say...those buds are rock solid...they all smell lush. All looking healthy. I do have a few lighter colour leaves around the bottom of the plant which makes me think they wanted more feed but my Ec was running high at 1.4 and didn't want to push it any more.
Last week I was diluting the feed down as i refilled the tank so the water doesn't drop below the pump level!
They're now flushing so I will see the colour drop quite rapidly now as they are losing their colour already
Flushing still with clean water 💧💧. I have emptied the tank and refilled with 50ltrs...Those buds🥦🥦have some serious weight to them and they're not finished yet😁😁👏👏

These are more than ready for the chop. They have amber trichomes everywhere...these are really dense buds so I expect a cracking yeild from 1.7m2 space
I have changed the 50ltr tank of water for fresh water and I'll give them til Friday to finish flushing. That would've been 3 weeks of clean water.
This was unbelievable...every single bud was resiness sticky and absolutely rock solid...they stretched to perfect height for my tent...the smell is strong and pungent
This will be 20 oz plus from a 1.7m2 space
Will take at least 10 to 14 days to dry those buds are so dence

@Saewhiskers, I learnt with nft about 20 years ago. The system I use is made by nutriculture.
I've added a short video of how this nft system works.
You have no chance of leaks unlike dwc. Dwc seems hard work poncin around with pebbles and having to lift the plant out the bucket when changing the water and with the roots out of water and exposed as they are is not good.
With nft when i change the water I just wedge up one end of the tank a few inches then pump it out.
U got pros and cons with both systems.
With dwc you can move your plants about but with nft they're static. So if don't train like I didn't with sativas they hit the roof
@Silverback_Guerilla, they are called "plant bends" I got them off EBay....They're ok to use when the branches are soft but as they harden off its a bitch to get them.back off without snaping the branch!!
Looks like that setup is working pretty good for you. I assume your reservoir is below the flood table? Curious what kind of pump schedule do you run for feedings? Pretty obvious results I see there! 👍
@@hydrohippy, I was running my pump 24 hrs but cut back because I think it causes too much salt build up. I am on 30 minutes every 4 hours now and it seems to work well. Love the access that you have to monitor your roots. Very nice!
@Wicked_Stix, hi, yes the reservoir sits below. Pump schedule is on for 15 mins every 3-4 hours when the lights are on
When the lights are off the pump is off for 12 hours.
In the summer I might run it once or twice through their night period just to keep the roots damp if it's roasting hot outside 😎😁🙏

@Reaper, I have never used Ro water....so I suppose you would add that...if you're in the UK then try using normal tap water it has all sorts of shit in it my plants love lol and only use grow feed at the start...can't comment on tap water anywhere else in the world
@Reaper, I have never used plagron feed so I don't know how strong that stuff is...what ever the dose recommends on the bottles cut that in in half and if your plants are young use even less.
Why are you using calmag? Were your plants showing signs of lacking in anything before you used it?
I understand peoples thinking in that a little extra of this and that will help but if the plants are healthy anyway don't use it. You only have to flush it all out at the end
I only use a 2 part veg and 2pt flower food and pk on the 5th week ..my plants never show a sign of lacking in anything so I don't use 10 bottles of other nutrients like I see others here using then wondering why their plants look over fed and stressed.
I can only suggest using your grow feed only and ph it...weak feed if they're young with no roots...to strong and you burn the roots with to high concentrate!!
