Mennowitsch93 So I'm trying to see which technique works best in combination and without, from 10 plants: 2 with topping, 2 with topping and LST, 3 just LST, and three normal without doing anything.

Mennowitsch93 We're in week 4! Couldn't select the fourth one! You can really see the difference from week 3 to week 4. In video 2, you can even see how it's slowly getting resinous on the sugar leaves.

Grow Questions
Mennowitsch93
Mennowitsch93started grow question 2y ago
What do you guys think, should I do a little defoliation to let more light reach all the buds? And get rid of the small ones right away. You read so much different stuff. They say that where almost no light reaches, everything just takes up unnecessary energy and should concentrate on the well-lit ones?

Well, Vorräten has already said everything that could be said, but my personal opinion to answer your question precisely is that the side branches could lose a few sun leaves pointing inward, but don't overdo it. As already mentioned, this can also reduce the yield because these leaves are energy converters and storage at the same time, which should supply everything above them. Therefore, it should be proportionate. That's how I learned it. Good luck and good job! Very nice work, it's fun to watch.

ALL of the plants energy to grow flowers is made by/in the leaves. Quite simply........... Less leaves = less energy being made = less potential growth. Buds do not need direct light to grow, they need leaves making energy to grow. Light penetrates upper leaves to strike lower sites anyhow. Energy does not get "pulled away" from anywhere, all energy is distributed evenly throughout the entire plant to where growth is occurring and it can not be "concentrated" to any particular area either. "Lollipopping" the lower sections of the branches can be a good idea, but it is not necessary and it will not make the upper buds grow any larger than their genetics are programmed to be. I have never defoliated any plants for over 35 years now and my plants grow huge flowers.

Mennowitsch93 Strong buds have formed and the weight has caused the branches to start hanging down sideways. The others are also developing good flower stands. And they can recover a bit from the constant growth light. This grow is purely an experiment in community. What can I expect from this strain? And what technique is right for SoG with this strain? Or should I rather go for topping or just leave them alone?
