Melonade Runtz by OrganicBuds030

OrganicBuds030 Unfortunately, I found out about the contest a bit too late, so I didn't take any photos of the germination. That's why I'm starting with week 1 after I planted the ladies (Melonade Runtz). I bought 3 seeds on Mary Jane 2024. I used 2 of them in this run. OrganicBuds030 My ladies are doing wonderfully. I've managed quite well to get them to grow small and bushy like a strawberry plant (light intensity, distance from the lamp to the plant, watering). I will top the two ladies at the beginning or middle of week 3 and then start with LST.

OrganicBuds030 Both Melonade Runtz were topped at the beginning of week 3.

OrganicBuds030 The two Melonade Runtz plants are positioned once in the front center and once in the back center. So basically one behind the other. The back Melonade Runtz is Pheno#2 and the front Melonade Runtz is Pheno#1. The plants are now being prepared for flowering, and my bloom fertilizer has already been added. I'm really looking forward to the flowering phase and the first scents of Melonade Runtz. It already smells very deliciously fruity.

OrganicBuds030 They feel very comfortable. The photos are from the 2nd day of flowering. The first signs of the flowering phase are already visible.

OrganicBuds030 They look great so far. I prefer the appearance of phenotype #2 right now. It's a bit smaller and the node spacing is shorter than with phenotype #1.

OrganicBuds030 I'm really liking Melonade Runtz so far. It has a fast growth and seems like it's going to produce thick, fat buds. I'm very excited to see how this run turns out. So far, no plant has shown any signs of deficiency. Stable genetics from Dutch Passion 💚

OrganicBuds030 Both terpenes are slowly forming. For me, terpenes are the most important aspect of cannabis. The flavor, or rather the terpenes, have a huge influence on the effect, which is why I'm really looking forward to the terpene profile and whether a phenotype might become a keeper. This isn't my first run, but the excitement is just as big as the first time. I think I've been able to represent the strain Melonade Runtz (fem) pretty well so far 💚🍀

OrganicBuds030 Both phenos are starting to smell a bit now. Pheno#1, the slightly larger plant with smaller buds, has a faint hint of that typical Runtz smell and is a bit stronger than Pheno#2 with very large buds. Both plants are already quite frosty.

OrganicBuds030 You can see it's slowly heading into the last two weeks. Melonade Runtz Pheno#1 has developed reddish stems. I don't know if it's the genetics or possibly a deficiency. It doesn't show any other signs of deficiency, and neither do the other strains in the tent. So, the likelihood that it's genetically caused definitely exists. Also, I have both lights running at 100%, and when the stems are exposed to intense direct light, they can turn violet, red, or pink. The color change due to intense light is a natural defense mechanism of the plant, as it helps protect better against UV radiation. It looks very nice 😁 Both phenos are drinking a bit less, which indicates that they are slowly approaching the end of the flowering phase. Both are smelling stronger, and with Pheno#1, you can increasingly smell the Lemon Z x Lemon Tree. Very refreshing.

OrganicBuds030 Both strains were great for pressing. Pleasant to smoke and high-yielding. Terps are mainly citrus notes.
