The Fast Buds Three Musketeers: Apple Strudel - Papaya Cookies - Gelato
What can I say? Freebies from the guy in the shop... I need to stop going there :)
Soaked in water for 16 hours (approx) then straight into final pots.
They're getting all of the above nutrients on alternating days. So far, so good :)
Temperatures are blazing hot and these are going to be going through a serious heatwave - might be worth just considering this an experiment more than anything else.
At the moment they're in a plant nursery on the balcony (wood frame/clingfilm sides/lid) which is working wonders. The problem is they can only stay there up to a certain height (they're out by week 4)
Again, all good as long they're in the plants nursery. It provides the perfect cover/shade from the blistering temps and conditions them for what lies ahead :)
They're looking healthy.
A blazing hot week - time mostly occupied harvesting the first wave of autoflowers - so the diaries are now a two/three days late.
No nutrients this week - too busy flushing the others. Will resume feeding schedule tomorrow (as above)
Plants looking good - but they were a bit water logged and it was affecting growth.
Happy with the way all these Fast Buds strains are handling the excessive heat - this trio looks like it could work out okay.
Back on the nutrients feed after a 5 day hiatus (too busy harvesting the other plants)
Papaya Cookies is probably the stand-out plant at this point - it's doing very well in high temperatures.
Should be into flowering by next week.
Compared to the Sweet Seeds strains, these are towering above them at the moment. It could all change, but I'm not so sure.
Really happy with these considering the conditions.
Smooth week, not much to report.
All good week for the Fast Buds trio
I've over-watered the second Gelato a few times and the roots are clearly locked up - not good, but these are the pitfalls of the laziness and not using more fabric pots.
Apart from that, given the conditions, they're doing great.
All doing great, really happy with the Apple Strudel, Papaya Cookies and the first Gelato - exactly what I was expecting from Fast Buds :) Papaya Cookies is the real stand-out - leafy, yes, but the colas are denser and a lot bigger.
Gelato 2 (planted in a plastic pot, over-watered and started in a blistering heatwave) is not doing well at all - and I may eliminate it from the final tally completely. It's a real disaster... poor thing.
Two more weeks to go before harvest time :)
This is a real beauty - lovely sticky buds, nice aroma and a whopping yield :)
Into the curing phase and this one looks fantastic (and smells nice, too) Apple Strudel takes the Fast Buds crown out of this great trio. They all did well, but this one did better :)
Out of the three (and compared to the Sweet Seeds going on at the same time) this one handled the extreme heat admirably, producing the kind of flower that will keep stocked for the year ahead. Dense, fragrant and very smooth to vape.
The lowest of the three Fast Buds trio this year.
Unfortunately I used plastic pots for this one and the the roots clogged at some point. It still worked out okay but I'm sure the yield would have been higher if I'd stuck to traditional fabric pots. The difference between plastic/fabric is immense - as I've come to learn this year. On the other hand, the buds do look beautiful :)
9 weeks from germination to harvest
Plant 2 was 12 weeks from seed to harvest - came out very small
A busy week spent trimming and trimming and trimming ;)
Really happy with these 3 Fast Buds strains - all very reliable, strong and lookin' damned fine!
All my years of growing. Never wet weighed.is it can experiment? What's the point? Just curious. Just clumping fresh bud together. Breaks terpine glands. Thus those reps are lost forever once popped.
@Growyourhi, It's only for the photo - they're all separated after. Why do a wet weight? Well, Grow Diaries does ask for it as soon as you click on 'harvest'. On a personal level = wet weight is 'usually' the final weight x4 - so getting the wet weight in now will tell me what I can expect for a final yield - without having to wait a good week or two before everything is dry.
Let's see what my papaya cookies will look like compared to yours. At the beginning during the germination phase (2 weeks) I only had light through the window I use synthetic fertilizer and you use organic fertilizer. Indoor vs Outdoor . Good luck with ur grow. 😼
