This is a buckeye Purple grow from Melvanetics. This is my third run with my notill soil blend. Water only with occasional compost brew blend to feed the microbes in the soil. Using a 900w viparspectra led light, with veg mode on a 18/6 cycle. It is being grown in a 3x3x5 grow box, with 4 plants. One BuckeyePurple is being grown outdoors.

Water only this last week. Went on vacation for 5 days so just gave them a nice soak before I left and they did great. That is a great part of growing with led can leave for a while and plants will be ok...👍. I haven't been growing very long, but this plant seems much more delicate than other stuff I've grown. The leaves are very soft and velvety. So let's see how this goes

Week 5 watered once this week. This is a very slow growing plant. But the plants could not be happier. Waiting to take cuttings of each soon. Hope to get that burgundy colored phenom of the buckeye purple light

Been doing a lot of Super Cropping over this last week. Think it slowed the growth down but allows me to really shape the plant the way I want. Gave them some tea yesterday. With fish bone meal, kelp meal, and molasses

2 days into flower still not sure of any males in the mix. Keeping my fingers crossed. The females with the burgundy color show in the first 3 weeks of flower the dark purple veins in the leaves. So hope I get a few of those phenoms.

Week 3 of flower and plants are settling in nicely. Gave the plants a top feeding of some of my super soil....and will water in a little bit.... half a Dixie cup every other week seems to do the trick... The plant are showing there different pheno traits. The back right plant seems like it's gonna be the burgandy phenom.. love this grow so far can't wait!!!

The heat had me nervous this week but they made it out without a hitch. Didn't do much at all this week with these ladies just watered twice. Second watering added a little fish bone meal, molasses, aloe Vera, and algae to the water to fuel those microbes...

So this is the first week when I opened my grow box I noticed the sweet smell of skunky artificial grape stank...lol... not super strong but definitely there. Still waiting for the colas to really pack on the weight. Gave a little top dressing of some super soil and watered twice this week. The hairs have been growing like crazy this week on the buds. Grow has been a lot of fun so far mainly because of how photogenic these ladies are!!!

This week was pretty mellow. Not much done. Watered twice this week, with second watering made some compost tea I brewed up on Thursday. Plants seem very happy. Smell is getting a little stronger. Not sure I have smelled anything some grapey. Very strange doesn't even seem real...lol. Loving this grow!!!

Heading into week 8. Estimating about 10 days til harvest. Have 4 very different phenoms. Starting to really stink. Grow area smells like skunky grape gobstoppers. Can't wait to taste these ladies. Was gone for 3 days this week and came back to perfectly happy ladies. Best part of growing with LEDs. Can leave with little to no worries. Happy growing all!!!!!!

Just finished week 8 of flower 🤕. Plants are not finishing up when I thought they would. Taking longer than I wanted...😤...seems like a couple may have a week or more left. Back right plant is getting close 3 to 4 more days. Will update when that one is harvested. Trying to stay patient. Hopefully they go into over drive this has been a long Grow... happy growing all!!!

So we are at about day 70 of flower 🌺. Still not ready for 3 of these ladies😤. Took down the back right plant last night she was ripe and ready. Hung her up after a lite trim, and she will dry in my jimmy rigged drying tub for about 10 days will weigh her then

So took down plant number 2 today. This plant is not as purple as the others, more of a pink phenotype. But this one is covered in tricombs and smells very sweet and tart. The 2 that are left should finish at the same time looks like one week left on them. Can finally see the finish line..... happy growing guys

Been super busy so lagged on getting this posted. All plants are down and currently drying. The weather has gotten chilly so taking longer to dry than I would like. Super excited to get it jars and all cured up. First plant is all done and came out bomb af.... a couple of friends didn't even think it was real..lol.. because it was to purple.... the potency is totally there on this one ☝️ sometimes purple lacks that but this stuff has it all. Bag appeal, smell, taste, and potency!!! This is not a commercial strain due to the slow growth and average yield, but a conasuers dream. Didn't weight wet weight, but will post final dry weight

So the smoke is very smooth and fruity. Not off the charts Stoney but very indica high. Great for a night cap or right before a movie. Smells like grape gas. Bag appeal is off the charts. Does not even look real in the bag lol.... super Purple and makes the orange hairs really pop. Pictures don't do it justice.

This plant is a slow growing strain heavy on the Indica side. Is a connoisseur strain not recommended for commercial Grow. To slow if in it to make some money. But was a pleasure to grow. It is definitely a head turner and is more potent than most purple stains I have tried before. So if ya got time and like something truly special give it a go...happy growing guys0

Any growers out there have any advice on harvest time for plants. My big question is when looking at the tricombs on a cola the top look cloudy and almost ready but towards the bottom of the cola they are clear and not ready??? So confusing!! Any advice would be great....
Tryhard
Tryhardcommented7 years ago
@Ledbelieve,sounds to me like the top part of the plant is going to be ready before the bottom half have heard of people that cut half the plant and leave the other half to Finnish up a bit more I'm not saying do that lol but I could be wrong I would like some body in put on it 2. Any how's your girls look amazing mate I'm very impressed you awesome
Ledbelieve
Ledbelievecommentedweek 28 years ago
I keep it all the way up cause its a lot of light for the Grow space. Will let them get well established then push the light in closer. So it's like 3 feet above now cause it's a vipar 900w in only a 3 x 3 box. Will move as close as 24 inches soon.

Ledbelieve
Ledbelievecommented7 years ago
@Fun_Growin, it is a vero29 cob led. 3,500k spectrum and puts out 280watts and covers a 3x3 area. Built it for around $250usd
Mr_Positivo
Mr_Positivocommentedweek 167 years ago
No question, cobs provide the best type of lighting for photography. Your buds are showing off nicely and your garden is looking beautiful. Congrats.

Ledbelievecommented7 years ago
@Mr_Positivo, Thanks man loving the cobs.. much better than the purple and blue lights especially for photos...lol..
AbroCadabro
AbroCadabrocommentedweek 98 years ago
Do those COB LEDs generate a lot of heat?
Ledbelieve
Ledbelievecommented8 years ago
@AbroCadabro, the lights don't put off much heat at all. The driver does put off some heat, so have it mounted outside the box.
