25th - Recieved order and planted the 3 bonus pink rozays i got ontop of the order.
26th - All 3 seeds opend up and i planted them pointing downwards into 1L AirPots filled with BioBizz Lightmix.
27th - All 3 broke the soil and looked healthy after i removed the seed cap from one of them.
The LED runs on 40% and im manually trying to increase the humidity with a wet cloth and a bowl of wet clay pebbles in the box. The first 4 leaves are developing well on all 3 altough 1 seems to be a bit smaller.
There is no particular reason for adding clay ontop right now i just thought it counldnt hurt.
The seedleaves are starting to die off and the first node is developing. 1 of the 3 is a bit slow and about 1-2 days behind. There is no particular reason for adding clay ontop right now i just thought it counldnt hurt.
For week 3 i did a tiny bit of lst but mostly just let em grow and didnt take pictures. as nothing much happened.
I would have repotted by week 3 already but couldnt get fabric pots so i just got 25L pots from the hardware store and finally put them in their final home.
Each pot has about 15L of slightly fertilized organic soil for spices mixed with 5L clay pepples.
I topped each pot off with more pebbles to prevent/contain possible bugs and because ive heard somewhere this helps the substrate keep moisture from evaporating just as adding some in the bottom helps with drainwater.
I cant lower my temps any more and the humidity is going up and down to much for my liking but the plants seem happy so im happy.
I topped for the first time 2 days after repotting and they seemed fine and regrew quicly.
As fertilizer i choose biotabs.nl´s products as they seemed easy to apply and beginner firendly.
I tried a different approach/goal of topping and lst for each plant.
Plant 1: I tried to train it away from the corner with lst and i cut off the branches growing directly into the corner. 2 toppings
Plant 2: The goal was to get as many mainbuds as possible and this was the most i dared to top and lst. I liked this one the most but the additional stress cost me a couple of days delay compared to the other 2. 3 toppings
Plant 3: This plant is a sort of baseline for the others. I decided that after i accidentally broke off one of the two new stems after topping while doing lst. I topped the remaining stem once more and did careful lst on the biggest sidebranches to even the canopy out again. 2 but effectively 1 topping
Changed the lighting on the 8th and dimmed the LED to 80%. For fertilization i used the biotabs standart regiment without regulating ph at all which was a mistake looking back, since now i cant even be sure if there was a certain nutrient deficency or just ph related uptake problems.
I wasnt home much for 3 weeks starting this week so i dont have any idea about the exact conditions meanwhile but in the end it was more humid and hotter since i dimmed the light to 100%.
Above/next to the lamp the maximum was 32C and at the leaves max 30C before adding airflow to the lamp. This brought it back down about 2C.
The buds are starting to get into shape and its amazing to see for the first time. I couldnt refrain from touching them and inspecting so i choose a test bud right next to the entrance. Still very fluffy and first smell, fresh/planty with destinct citrus somewhere in there.
The buds are developing more quickly than i expected and are staring to fill up deeper down the stems.
I removed a couple of leaves here and there as the canopy thickened and got step by step to a lollipop look on all my plants.
I also added some sticky traps since i saw single flies from time to time and they got about 10-15 flies until now the 25.07.24.
i added a small amout of Orgatrex once against slight discolouration.
Added some BioBloom and Calmag as i thought i need to fix a deficency but in the end i gave all plants very slight nutrient burn.
I guess the Biotabs + 3ml Orgatrex or BioBloom would have been enough and the plants still seemed deficient due to ph problems.
Also started ph regulating my water to about 6.5 - 6.8,
The buds keep growing down the stems and are already pretty dense.
Im just using ph regulated water and got a second clipfan for better circulaton.
The buds are only getting wider and denser, almost no more tiny popcorn sprouting at lower nodes. They look great and are starting to smell very intense.
Plant 1 turned very red while showing most deficencys. It could be the active air intake since it hits this pot the most which might cool it down too much at night. Maybe its just the strain and deficencys or a mix of all above. Might try to fix it somehow but the plant seems healty overall so i dont mind too much and it looks great.
I had to remove some dying leaves and found tiny male flowers on a low node in the back of the box. Couldnt find more and hope that i got them out early enough. Im not sure why it happened now and on this particular plant but whatever fingers crossed.
Ill keep watering with ph regulated water for a few days but will switch back to plain 1 day old tap water since the ph- contains phosphorus.
The look and smell is amazing it keeps exceeding my expectations.
Finally the last plant is starting to show the same red colouring and every plant seems to be losing leaves more regularly.
I pulled out the microscope to check the trichomes and
at first i thought one plant is faster than the supposed 9-10 weeks with the first sample showing amber trichomes.
More samples convinced me otherwise, but its weird and i will look that up.
Some buds seem to be too heavy so i tried to support them but i will need a better solution for the next time.
Harvested the small bud with the amber trichomes, very curious.
I checked the trichomes regularly and they are almost completly milky and started to turn amber.
Harvested two buds and left them to dry.
Played around with the airintake as i got new parts and that somehow changed my temp and humidity to the point i got budrot a few days later on atleast one bud (marked red).
I cut it because the sugarleaves looked dead in the middle of the bud and i wanted to inspect closer.
There were no spores i could shake out so the molds lifecycle was still in the early stages. Mad this kind of problem pops up in the last few days but im glad i found it rather early.
Will harvest asap as im unsure if the circumstances have been fixed and i dont see the point in risking the plants for the few more days of flowering.
As you can see on the pictures the plants get bent pretty bad when i take them out of the box as the enterance is pretty small and rigid.
I trimmed wet as i wanted to reduce the mold cances as much as i could. While at it i took a closer look into the buds to see if there is more mold but i didnt find anything.
Did it in two steps. At first i removed the bigger and unfrosty leafes then in the second run i cut the sugarleafes.
I seperated the harvest by plant to see the possible differences later on.
