Triple G (Feminised) 85% Indica + 26% THC [Royal Queen Seeds]
The seed was germinated unsing the paper towel method. After 48h the germinated seed was planted into a small pot containing seedling soil.
As I had to wait for my tent to arrive, I was keeping this seedling alive under standard LED light and occasional sunlight for about 4 weeks. In this time growth was very slow but I managed to keep the plant healthy.
After 4 weeks of keeping my seedling alive with standard LED lights and occasional sunlight my tent arrived. The plant was moved into its final 15L fabric pots and placed under the grow light. Around 140W at 30cm distance to start with.
My Triple G is sharing her tent with one other plant for the entirety of this grow.
As I did not really have control over her growth so far, I consider the move into the grow-tent as the starting point for her vegetative phase.
So far the Triple G has been growing quickly and without any problems. I had to strategically remove a couple of leaves to promote light penetration and airflow throughout the plant.
I only water once the topsoil has dried out and I maintain constant airflow around the plant. I have topped her once at the 5th down to the 4th node and otherwise left her alone. (Looking back, I probably should have topped a little later - you live, you learn)
Throughout this week I haven't touched the environmental controls once and kept the tent @ 28°C and 65%RH.
(Day 16) This week's general priority is on maintaining consistent growth and the equal development of all side-branches. Hopefully she can grow taller in order to make more room for all the developing leaves - as she is a very compact plant so far.
I have reduced the relative humidity. Currently I hover around 60% humidity @ 26°C. I also increased the distance to the light by 5cm. My light is currently at 130W for 18h a day.
(Day 19) I defoliated the plant in order to help air-circulation, pest/mold-resistance.
(Day 21) She is still a very dense plant with short nodes and from the top-down view she kinda looks like a cross. In order to boost some of the lower growth and hopefully increase yield I installed a ScrOG-Net to even out the canopy.
(Day 22) The beginning of week 4 will be all about tucking leaves and branches under the ScrOG-Net to fill out the grow space and promote lower growth
Environmental Conditions: 27° @ 62%RH
(Day 24) Just monitoring growth and tucking branches. Nothing to report.
(Day 27) It's the final day of vegetation. Starting tomorrow, I will flip to 12/12h of light.
The vegetation phase has been easy and without any issues.
(Day 28) So far my Triple G has been without any issues. It is a very dense plant and I am very excited to see how she'll turn out.
I cleaned the tent before flipping to flower. Starting tonight, the light schedule is on 12/12. I am still using vegetation fertilizer until I see the first budsites forming - which is when I will switch to flowering fertilizer.
(Day 29) I aggressively tucked the branches under the ScrOG-Net in order to hopefully create a large and even canopy. Also removed some large fan-leaves that blocked some lower tops.
(Day 32) The plant has recovered from my ScrOG and is looking healthy. Still using vegetation fertilizer.
(Day 34) Switched to flowering-fertelizer. Exact mix can be seen in next week's overview. I also rotated the plant 180° and defoliated her once more to ensure good airflow.
(Day 35) I lowered the humidity and lightly increased the amount of water I feed.
(Day 40) She has been mostly left alone these last few days. Her bud-sites are developing all around the plant and she looks healthy. I removed some large leaves to allow for better light-penetration.
(Day 59) The plant still looks healthy and she has developed a lot of Bud-sites. Now it is all about fattening her up.
Today I started adding PK-Fertelizer into the watering mix and will do so for the next 10 days or so.
Let's see how it pans out
(Day 63) Plant is still looking good and is being watered every morning.
I hope she gains some weight these last few weeks.
(Day 66) Weird spots have appeared on some leaves. Would be grateful if anybody is able to diagnose this [See last picture].
Otherwise she is doing fine. Temperatures outside have dropped significantly so I have turned up light intensity to keep daytime temps at around 25°C.
(Day 70) Her leaves are starting to fade from green to a slight yellow hue. I assume she is nearing the end of ripening.
I assumed she would take another 2-3 weeks to be at her best, but now I expect her to be ready in less than two weeks. (I was wrong lol)
Please give me some of your opinions as to how long she has left. I included a Bud-shot so you can form your opinions.
I will stop feeding nutrients within the next 3-4 days and only give her ph-adjusted water from then on.
(Day 73) Today I defoliated her by removing basically every large fan-leave. This should hopefully set her up well for her final days and make trimming a lot easier. I removed the ScrOG-Netting aswell since she can support her own weight.
Also today is the last time she will be fed. Starting tomorrow she will only be given ph-adjusted water.
(Day 77) Starting the second to last week of flower, this Triple G is looking healthy and happy.
I would have loved to see the plant be even fatter - but I am a beginner and am happy with my success so far.
I will not feed this plant anymore and only give her ph-adjusted water.
(Day 84) Heading into week 9 of flower. I checked her Trichomes with my microscope and decided to harvest in three days time. Although I could see some amber colored ones on the head buds, I wanted to give the lower hanging ones some time to ripen fully. I think I should be pretty spot on with my timing here.
Her color is fading more and more and she appeared more yellow by the day. No purple color showing in my pheno so far. She has become a beautiful little plant and has stacked nice chimneys of buds. I had hoped for some fatter buds but I am happy with the result so far.
She hasn't been watered in two days and will receive her final dose of water tomorrow. Can't wait to smoke those buds.
(Day 87) It is cut down day. Time to say goodbye. You can see her in her final moments in the pictures. From now on I am officially in harvest mode.
I'll write up my thoughts on this grow after curing and smoking the product.
Overall, these buds weren't particularly dense. However, they tasted good, gave a solid high and I harvested plenty.
I am happy with her genetics and the product, considering it was my first run ever, is very good.
Hey mate.. Do you or can you get a jewelers loupe or try using your phone and zoom in as close as you can to the tricomes.. if they are all milky you have max THC. Most people try and get at least 10% Amber.. Awesome grow btw :) it's always the last couple of weeks they pack on the weight.. you def look close to me !
@iBoost, thank you very much for your comment. I will check her at the end of this week and see if she needs one more or not.
Her head buds aren't as fat as I had hoped but that's probably due to me being very conservative with my lollipop.
I'll try and get some good pics from under the microscope - tho I do not know if I'll be able to get good shots.
All the best and happy growing bud🤞
