WOW!!!!!! I did it!! or should I say WE did it! I cant believe I turned 3 little seeds into just over 27oz, theres a little not in the jars...... I'm just blown away by the look of this cannabis. For a sativa this looks just incredible!!! The crystals are just CAKED and handling just the slightest caused the worst sticky fingers. I have learned to incredibly much my first grow I'm very excited to put my experience to use on the 2nd round here. Which will be all AUTOS!!! This should be fun indeed. Shout out to the fam (you know who you are) and thank you so very much for all the help and taking the time to comment. There's so much info in this diary I'll be referring newbies to it for sure in the future as a reference. I'll update in about a month when the true smoke report comes but I cant wait to post this!!! THANKS EVERYONE WWOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTT WOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTT🙌🙌👏👏👊👊👊😵😵😵

jas to be long and slow , u cut at all and trimmed once totally dried. Jave given a longer explaination of it in a previous message and it works amazing for me. pain in the ass trimming those little sugar leaves out of tight bud at their base but those little sugary gifts will make amazing Hash now. Am bubble bucketting all trim from some amazing strains from crop too. gritty and covered in thc from the slow dry. The Buddha is amazing to smoke johnny . has to be one of my all time favourites over past 15 years , its that nice. The stone is so noticable and i have been smoking weed solely 35 years like cigarettes. Still wobdled me.lol You will be so impressed by the quality and your s look great now to. They will swell now so if you have any Finishing products to boost girth , nows the time to go for it. Great job mate Wish Grow Diaries had a p.o address for us to gift samples to other growers and a way to get it to them. We go through each others grows and get to watch these ladies all get harvested , then have to read how great it smokes....... takes the piss. lol

@JohnnyBlaz3, I have used A.n finisher called Overdrive in the past . i do think it helped fatten the buds but because of constant strain changes and variety , van be hard to tell. Would say it did help if pressed. I only used Humbodts secret Golden Tree in my last crops with base nutes, little silica, and calmag. It is supposed to replace everything the other additives give and more. Cant grumble at my o overall crop yield considering a bad 600w stunting everything one end of the grow and the bud has been brilliant. Do think it did as it said about NEED but feel actual boosters are needed for this next run too. Have bought some shogun finisher called Dragon Force now to try and also their flowering additives "active boost" and Shogun pk 9/18 too.

They are looking beautiful now. close to their max potential now. One of the tastiest buds i have grown to date and nice stone too. The trichs is the only real way to tell. it tends to go quickly once you start to notice the burnt amber colour cast through a loupe ,if that makes sense. I saw lots of cloudy trichs and not too many clear left with no amber signs , a couple of days later i noticed a slight amber hue through the loupe but couldnt pinpoint any amber trichs anywhere. Her pistils were orange all over the girls so thought it was that at first but a few more days passed and i clearly saw amber clusters popping up. Perfect time in my opinion. Flushing doesnt make a lot of sense to me or the stuff i have scoured over. I do not flush at all ( unless a major issue happens) but in the last planned res change , i start adding water only. This was the last week of my grow. Remocing needed nutes at the most needed ti.e is crazy and only happens because commercially it saves 2 weeks of Nutrients on a huge scale. This saving outweighs the added growth ect for their huge operations. For us small fry the financial saving is not much but the extra yield loss is. The whole success of flavour/ potency is down to the dry and the cure , nothing to do with flushing or not. rush dried weed is ruined by harshness and remaining nutes , weed that is dried slowly over a longer period (10 days+ for me) and has not had ANY cuts to the plant at all before being hung intact , is not harsh or difficult to burn. Curing for a week after this improves the flavours/potency/smell to its ideal. The plant drying intact and slowly allows it to send any remaining stored nutes into bud saving and protection. She will do it until she can no longer transport fluid through her system as it is all dried up and gone. This works for me and has given me top shelf buds from my last crop. Has been so popular i only have my own percy left !!! Th dark before harvest thing is a myth like women having something called a clintumus that makes them kinder to us in my opinion. have tried it but not seen any difference. Dry trimming is a pain in the ass too but any leaf left can create harshness, even those sugary sugar leaves. snip them out for hash.

@Ganjagrandaddy, Ok I see. Yeah I heard about the RINSE flushing with lots of water. Must work for non soil based because overwatering and humidity would reck a soil based plant. You'd prolly have to have some stronger air flow to dry it out, meaning you plan in advance the set up? Or we don't care because she gets chopped in a week? Although I've seen ravages due to overwatering including gnats just in three days...
Ganjagrandaddy
Ganjagrandaddy
@@GreenGrowGreen,Flushing is a loosly used term but we dont flush by using just water instead of feed. Flushing is using 3x the amount of water to the pots capacity for soil mainly. My coco has had so much through it over the grow and i dont water to a lot of runoff or "flush" throughout the grow. The last few days/week its water only to keep them happy and to kickstart their usage of stores in their leaves for their end and drying better. hope that makes sense and explains better
GreenGrowGreen
GreenGrowGreen
@Ganjagrandaddy, "No flushing just replace any water with ph plain and.no more nutes for last week ," that is flushing. Replacing nutes with plain water for a week or two.

@TheBudWhisperer, 😊 appreciate the kind words from all you guys! can feel the love here its awesome. the buds seem to be developing quite quickly its fantastic. Still another 55ish days until harvest tho. I expect it to be totally worth it. I'm trying to decide if I wanna take advantage of the cold outside and draw out some purple hues shortly or just leave the strain the natural bright green it is. kinda thinking leaving the bright green.

Johnny! Ur on fire buddy - she looks great.👌 Think most of what you want answer to is covered in the comments but there’s 200 of em and I’m already daunted by the awesomeness of those buds👍Lol. Agree with the guys above - ph’d Water is all good. She’s starting the fade and lookn great. 2 weeks is more than enough flush time in coco and u can def. get by with only 1 week if you want. No worries there as the medium doesn’t retain residual nutes the way soil does. As for harvest - dry tent and oscillating fan is a good idea - keeping light airflow around the buds definitely helps avoid moisture issues and bud rot I do treat this as environment dependent though and won’t use a fan if humidity is extremely low (like my basement is).. lots of options for the trim - I’ve found wet trimming to be the easiest “once and done” prior to dry and cure but lots of guys will dry trim the sugars absolutely. This has been an awesome follow dude - I’m looking forward to seeing the end of it👍😎

@NomNom, haha in the past i have used shake to make edibles but recently i've been making gummies with shatter that come out way better. the high is so much better from shatter edibles then shakes edibles lol or at least the shake i was using........they come out very consistent every time. something u might like with the butter is use it in hot sauce. have tried it with hot wings. make the butter then simmered it in hot sauce for a couple hours, got some wangs and boom! soooo good and nice and stoned by the time youre done. I didnt really want bubble hash (high end kief) either but would probably take that over edibles as I love the gummies so i'm good there, guess I would like to make shatter but i'm not prepared for that yet. hopefully by next harvest.

@Ganjagrandaddy, awesome bit of info there! thank you👍 I think i've read about that on some outdoor grow, but never really considered it for smaller indoor grows
Ganjagrandaddy
Ganjagrandaddy
@JohnnyBlaz3, dont forget you can harvest partially too. If top buds have matured then you harvest. The remaining bud will respond by swelling again to make up for the loss. This is also supposed to be a way of increasing yield. If whole 70% brown hairs , she is about ready but if only tops , then try and harvest one to see what i mean. Oddly not many people seem to know about harvesting this way. I have backbuilt buds before. ( mini example of the red diesel in my first grow here. ) By essentially ,topping the top of the bud ( about 5%) , she will respond by adding girth and building her buds sidewards more as the top has recieved damage and she will want to protect her baby by avoiding that area. worth reading up in it for the science bit but supports multicropping idea too.

Holy crap dude - if this girl has 4 more weeks then u might need some yo-yos cuz they’re gonna be falling over due to weight!👍. U can definitely expect them to plump out more (this can be visibly obvious even in the last 2 weeks of flower) and hopefully it stays smooth sailing. And outdoor season is almost here! My fave time of year! Autos will still achieve good results outside as long as you have solid sun exposure. It’s a good idea to do early veg. Indoors while they’re fragile and I generally do the same. Only sugggestion I’d make is to go with an amended soil medium outdoors as opposed to coco. Specifically (and this is just what I’ve found works best) equal parts high quality soil mix, compost and perlite. U could add in coco too if it suits ur fancy but when outside I prefer a little more water retention (for potential vacations with minimal rain in my absence). The nutrient content of the medium itself will save on synthetics through a good chunk of veg. Time and is an excellent, low maintenance way to let nature take its course. I big it up with 10-15gal. Smart Pots which grows huge plants too. That said, if ur growing in the ground then u need not worry about any of this. Good luck dude - indoor is fun but nothing beats the power of the sun👍😎👊
TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperer
@JohnnyBlaz3, southern Ontari-ario here bud - and that’s exactly what I did last year with my outdoors. Awesome way to get a head start on veg. Just watch out cuz with the extra time mine turned into 11’ monster plants!! (it made me cry with joy).
JohnnyBlaz3
JohnnyBlaz3
@TheBudWhisperer, midwest canada i'm gonna start vegging them as soon as i harvest this one until i toss them outside. or atleast the 2 photos
TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperer
@JohnnyBlaz3, all excellent questions homie. Lst, topping scrogging etc. Is all good fun but theres nothing quite like watching an outdoor plant do it’s natural thing and let the freak flag fly! If you don’t care about mobility and the flower bed is well situated then there’s really no difference than popping it in the ground. I would still amend the area with a soil/compost/perlite mix before planting. Pots are more mobile but also more maintenance. If you’re in 10gal or larger and the plant gets huge then you’ll find it very difficult to move it so keep that in mind. The roots can’t spread to find nutrients like they would in the ground so after the first few weeks your nutrient schedule isn’t all that different from soil growing indoors. In late flower (due to extended veg. Time with a photo plant) you’ll be watering every day. Limited growth nutes required for veg. And then a modest dose of bloom nutes during flower. U always want to keep in mind that soil holds natural nutes for at least a couple weeks of the plants life and then if u add compost you’re enriching the medium even more so nutes in the early stages aren’t really necessary and at worst are overkill. In ground is easiest and best - I’m stuck with pots so I can have the girls on my deck and under close watch😉. Now about peat vs. Compost etc. It’s kinda ur choice dude and def. do some reading on it. Soil/compost/perlite is what’s worked best for me but any good grower on here would agree that there is always more than one medium or method that gets dope results. There’s too many environmental variables to suggest that one option is better than the other - the answer always depends on a number of different things starting with geography/climate. Where are you located approximately? I can def. help if your in the lower portion of the northern hemisphere - southern Ontario, Canada. If ur in the desert or something I know couple people on here who could help out as well.👊

looking great man nice work as for the ones with more white hairs do u mean the bud pictured next to the orange clipper if so thats called foxtail and its where the plant at that point is receiving too much light or in some cases wind some strains do it more than others naturally as for flushing i normally run 10l through if using a 20l pot on first day of flush and then feed plain phd water once its dried a little untill harvest iv tried different methods full flush with say 50l and 10l every 2 days and just water all the way as normal and found the first method to give a better finished product as u dont drown the roots as you would with 50l and with water just feeding as normal e.c dosnt get as low as it could do
JohnnyBlaz3
JohnnyBlaz3
@TheBudWhisperer, i added some pics just now to show the plant on the right. all the colas are like that. but I would haev to agree with that one cola for sure lol has not grown vert in like a month
TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperer
@JohnnyBlaz3, I’d agree with that take on the fox-tailing too. Some of the buds are also bulking out horizontally which is also a sign of light stress. Really/end of day - think she’s telling you she’s about done homie👍!!! As below - jazz hands!
JohnnyBlaz3
JohnnyBlaz3
@biggreens420, someone else mentioned the light thing too but the entire plant is like that. even the ones off to the side or in less light. no way they are getting too much. also theres a few coned colas at the same height and distance but from the other plants so i'm curious. you can see the dip on the right side. the only cola thats massive and tall on that whole plant is the one beside the orange clipper. the others are all short with stalky huge colas but not tall

Very impressive growth this week! those sugar leaves are just popping out! How high of humidity are you talking about? I would say just increase air flow over adding a dehumidifier, and you have already done that👍

@Cultus, @johnnyblaz3 - agree. I’d kill for a constant Rh and temp. Variance like this. Right in the wheelhouse👍😎
Cultus

@JohnnyBlaz3, the airflow will reduce the risk of mold, not the humidity. And with good flow and good temps i wouldn't be too concerned at around 50%👍

Ganjagrandaddyweek 17
Hey johhny. these are beauties mate. Regards flushing ,I dont do it at all. Estimates for the last week tend to be done from the trich colours mainly. Its more of a ripening period really. By flushing you force her to cannabalize way too early. She will do exactly the same thing properly during the slow dry . Flushing is an industrial method used to save 2 weeks worth of nutrients , which for commercial farmers would be a huge save , for a slight yield loss. For us on small scales then there is very little saving and an oz or two matters on our yields. You cant remove nutes with ANY product or flushing amd any stores within the plant will stay there until used up ( slow dry uncut plant retains terpenes )or forced to evaporate( faster drying , trimmed wet ,locked in chlorophyll, etc..) The last suspected week for me is mostly milky trichs then i will only use water to top up my res ,so slowly signals the end to the plant as food source starts to diminish , she will then begin her survival mode for the slow dry. Once we remove light from them they know their end is close so will start to use all the stored nutes from their leaves by conversion. This NEEDS an active transport system to be sent to her buds so ALL of the pathways and systems need to be active. mobile nutes will continue to feed the buds as she uses all of the chlorophyll in the leaves up. She will keep this going until all the moisture has gone from her leaves, branches , and finally the buds. Rhis is why snappable branch is the key moment to trim ALL remaining leaves off. The sugar leaves can also retain some chlorophyll , risking harshness on smoking , so they come off at their base too. Trimming dry can be a pain but a lot of the leaves fall away too so no worse than wet trim really. . Drying in a dark enclosed space with a cool temp and good air exchange ( not blowing through but slow exchange) will retain terpenes and aid with a shorter cure too. works for me perfectly. I am looking at the process of using fridges to dry as this retains so much of the profile of terps and like vegetables, gives better flavour and potency of final product. Hope that all makes some sense. i can ramble a bit. Low and slow is the way to go to avoid smoking hay/alfalfa. good luck mate. you deserve a brilliant end product for all your graft.
Ganjagrandaddy
Ganjagrandaddy
@JohnnyBlaz3, sorry mate was a lot of info and explaini g the whys. basic method I dont flush using lots of water for 2 weeks ever. on the last week I only top up with water. Any nutes are very slowly watered down as the last week progresses. I then remove the plant whole ,Roots too if possible.. Hang the plant as it comes out with no removal of leaves at all until completely finished the slow drying. Slowly dry over 7-10 days with rh no higher than 50% and not too low , 30%. temp of room below 19°c but cooler if possible. Air exchange needs to be adequate to allow fresh air to replace the damp air but not blowing anywhere near the buds at all , just moving air through slowly. Keep checking for "snappable " stems ( around day 7-8) Any still bendy can be left further to dry. Trim ALL leaves off including sugar leaves poking out of the buds. Jar and enjoy premium tasting weed. Hope that .makes more sense mate . sorry for the waffle good luck.
JohnnyBlaz3
JohnnyBlaz3
@Ganjagrandaddy, hey bro, updated but i see u replied about the flushing now,.....i'm so confused lol, you dont flush at all. also when u say remove the light, what do u mean by that. this confused me as well lol "You cant remove nutes with ANY product or flushing amd any stores within the plant will stay there until used up ( slow dry uncut plant retains terpenes )or forced to evaporate( faster drying , trimmed wet ,locked in chlorophyll, etc..)" also youre sayin to dry trim?? so much is opinion and preference it seems but for until i form my own I need to pick one of your guys methods. so at harvest you cut the fan leaves off, dry upside down and once they are dry and ready for cure you trim them the way. so you leave the sugar leaves for the dry? lol i dunno if its me but this whole reply confused the hell outa me lol you said you dont flush but for the last week you add only water? isnt this the flush lol i'm soooo confused man. i'm growing in coco too i dunno if we should do things differently? I'm gonna use this tent to dry in and take a break for a week. has the air flow and carbon filter and everything so I can just set up a rack of sorts to hang the branches from

Nothing to worry about mate. about 75% brown hairs used to be the standard i went with for Harvest sweet spot before the trichromes knowledge became common. For piece of mind , have a look at a few" week before harvest" weeks in completed diaries for a good reference of this . All going great mate.

@Cultus, yeah I got up to 1950-2050 for a couple sessions and that happened so I went back to 1650-1750 and havent noticed any new ones and definitely no sign of lock out so it should be ok I think. side note, It honestly seems so hmmmmmm so wrong? that i'm gonna be cutting these girls in a few weeks. you literally seem to grow attached to them as living things which they are of course but its like this weird bond you have with a plant (have any of u seen leon the professional where he loves his plant. ya thats me lol) where u wanna push it to its breaking point with nutes then back off slightly and also just piss it right off with all the training and such but then nurture and provide the best food and environment possible. Thennnnnnn CHOP😱💀 but they will bring joy to many people lol sorry, little baked hahah

Ganjagrandaddy
Ganjagrandaddy
@JohnnyBlaz3,. tha ks johnny , i will bare this one i mind once i get at it again now. defol is a productive technique but i think most folks are terrified of it. i only stop plucking them out after week 4 flower , then its an aggresive tucking for them adter that. great work mate
JohnnyBlaz3
JohnnyBlaz3
@Ganjagrandaddy, hey bro! did a MASSIVE defoil last night, ANYTHING not important or gonna become a decent size bud is gone. no popcorn budz or massize fan leaves blocking the light. I wanted to defoil but wasnt sure if it was a no no but seems like I shoulda just trusted my gut again. oh well, looks GREAT now, very cleaned up with light hitting all the bud sites. For the co2 my understanding from what I learned at the hydro store is the opposite. It will make your plants stretch unnecessarily when vegging but really help make the buds more dense when flowering. I was told to use starting 2 weeks after the flip up until 2 weeks before harvest. Once again, nothing to compare it too.

@WillyWonka, thanks for the kind words 😁 yaaaa thats what I was thinking and that was my previous strategy to keep the light down a bit but wasn't sure if that could hurt bud sites or anything during flowering so I've reluctantly let it get a little bushy but I'll give the ladies a little trim

Ganjagrandaddyweek 7
The lower you can scrog and still access the pots , the better. These ladies break the 1m mark easily and her stretch is a good 50% at least . for me , i would flip as soon as screen is filled and maybe tuck the 1st week of stretch but let her go after that. 11 weeks building colas is a long time and you could hit height issues if you go vertical too early. They do look amazing mate. love those stems already. They will be beasts. I would use defoliation as you go to. These ladies put out a lot of leaves on those 1m colas. .great job
Ganjagrandaddy
Ganjagrandaddy
@JohnnyBlaz3, bang on with the defoliating logic. i steip them out as much as possible then stop during 4th flower week. Do tuck a few too though. 1st grow is doing great mate well done.
JohnnyBlaz3
JohnnyBlaz3
@Ganjagrandaddy, thanks friend, thats great to hear as thats pretty much my plan, lowered the net 3/4 inch or so and was planning on tucking until the net was full then flipping it and tucking it under the final band to the freedom of the outside the net, letting it fill in the outside kind of naturally since the net was made for a 5 x 5 tent and mine is 5.5 x 5.5 there is a little extra gap on the outside, which inst horrible as i can still walk inside the tent (very carefully lol). I have also been defoliating quite a bit as I go but they get bushy so fast its crazy, i think last week I showed the plant quite bare from some pruning then 2 days later its filled right in nicely. I'm honestly quite shocked how many leaves i've cut off already, I dont think i'm over doing it though as i prune very strategically. Do not want to take to much, as leaves are obviously crucial for photosynthesis but I dont want wasted energy on weaker useless leaves or bigger fan leaves blocking smaller nodes coming up. I'm getting closer to the point of getting everything below the net pruned as they are growing so fast. once the leaves are in the shade, or a small leaf with little hope, theyre gone. This is my first grow but i'm quite impressed with the stems so far, so thick! Also, i'll post one of the knuckles from the plant that was the guinea pig for my first LST. The plant lost one of the 4 limbs and really annoyed a 2nd one, breaking the branch to stem connection open about a mm when it was pretty young but wow did it heal with a vengeance. Quickly learned the trick to use both hands and kind of brace the branch close to the stem in the direction towards the stem while bending the end of the branch in the opposite direction away from the center of the plant. This is a quite enjoyable process and learning curve, I love the challenge and cant wait to begin flowering but i'll be patiently waiting as the reward will be plentiful, I hope. still my first grow so theres so much to learn and that could go wrong but i'm doing my best to be prepared. cheers mate! 😎👋

@biggreens420, thank you thank you! I cant believe its all done and didn't have any major issues at all. I cant wait to put what i've learned to use in round 2 here. just put 8 seeds in towels, it has begun!!!! 4 strains of autos, 2 of each. I hope the all pop 😀😀 I'm very satisfied with the yield, 27 oz from 3 plants of AAAA herbs. I"M STOKED, just have to wait a month to really get the taste, just smoking the few popcorn nugs and the not so premo little buds, have about an oz of this thats not in the main jars. I'll smoke it, lol i've paid for weed that tasted this harsh before, atleast it gets me wrecked 😵

Way to go Johnny! 👏👏👏. Congratulations on your first grow👍. Have you considered that your plants are showing different Pheno traits within the strain? My first grow was 4 plants that grew and matured quite differently.

@DeaneR, thanks!!! and yes actually that was my first thought until the light and heat thing was mentioned. it just behaved differently the entire grow. didnt want to spread out as much, didnt grow as fast, doesnt take up as much water, just overall didnt seem to mature like the others ind of a runt that never caught up but the trichs are about the same now as the other plants.
