01/08/2024: The seed went for a little dip in a glass of water in the afternoon. 02/08/2024: The first root broke out enough, so time to hit the soil. 04/08/2024: It popped out!

11/08/2024: One week old! Have been growing them as seedlings in the Click & Grow. During the day I move them around the apartment for extra sunlight from the windows. Watering only very lightly with tap water, at most 2 times a week. Perhaps about 300 ml per week? The capsules retain water very well and I dont want to overwater as the plants seem strong and happy. Showing signs of stretching - most probably the light they are getting is not sufficient.

18/08/24 Week two! The couple first days of this week were very warm outside so the plant was suffering a bit from heat stress. On D9 I have finally replanted them out of the Click & Crow pods, which is way too late. So the heat stress combined with constrainment in the small capsule and the stress from replanting to its final 17L pot most likely has stunted the growth quite a bit. On D9 after replanting I have started BioBizz nutrients. The plant is still barely drinking any water. I can currently water at most 2 times a week and very small quantities. Let's say about 750 ml per week total at most. Perhaps it's the pots that dont allow for good evaporation and the soil stays moist too long? I am measuring the PH of the feeding water with PH strips currently, which are not very accurate. Trying to eyeball it somewhere between 6 and 7. The plant has stretched out quite a bit and I am worriesome over the lack of new branches at current leaf nodes.

25/08/24 Week three! The plants seemed to recover rather well from the replanting to a bigger pot and during week three quite significant growth was noticed. on D16 I have started LST with very little idea about what I am doing. It seemed to accelerate new branch growth at the current nodes, which I am happy about. They are still however quite tall and thin. I have no idea if training them actually benefits me any way at the moment apart from bending the plant. At the end of week three, D21, the growth is quite nice, but I think I have noticed the very first pistil starting to form! Surely thats a bit too early, no? Watering still seems slow to me compared to other grows I see on youtube. But the plant looks happy and soil is moist, so I refrain from adding more water. Could this stunt growth as it is also limiting the influx of nutrients?

Multiple questions: Is this the first sign of flower on the picture of D21 from sprouting? Doesn't the plant look to small for it still? How do I promote new node growth? Is watering roughly about 1.5L per week too little for nutrient influx? Royal Critical Auto - RQS

Hey! Yes, that is a female preflower. Preflower doesnt need to mean its going to flower immediately, its a sign of maturity like we get hairs in puberty. Its normally occuring during 4th and 6th week of vegetation on regular or feminized plants but it may be quicker on automatics. Plants primarily get their energy from light, nutrients and water are more like the building materials, but the intake of photons determines the possible building speed. Focus on building a strong root system first on automatics and the rest should come ( if the factors are right, like nutrition, watering, ph/ec, temperature, humidity, ...)

01/09/2024 - Day 28 Full four weeks and properly into preflower. I guess starting next week I can really call them in flower already? The growth in the tent has been truly explosive compared to the growth earlier. Still haven't watered them since the last time, I will probably reduce the watering amount to allow the pots to dry out faster and get more air to the roots. 30/08/2024 - Day 26 On Day 23, I have given up with the idea of balcony grow and moved all my plants into a SpiderFarmer 70x70x160 tent. The weather was either too dark and rainy or is currently way too hot and dry in souther Germany. Had to get the tent anyway since I am worried about the eventual smell from 3 plants and I need to host guests in a months time. Following my first grow question, I have worked to adjust their LST quite often, which, I guess in combination with the SF1000 light has now given significant growth in the lower nodes for new branches to develop. Watered on D23 with 1.5L which is still plenty until now. The soil is still dark and moist.

I am noticing the lower leaves of my Royal Critical Automatic to be much more pale green than the top of the plant. Is this a nutrient/light/watering/lst stress problem if at all? First Grow. Started balcony, moved to tent D23. SF-1000 light, 100% at ~ 55cm from canopy.

Might be a bit stress but no need to worry first pair wilts in like 90% of times. Why did you tie down the leafes tho? You can remove every hook apart from the last one wich ties down the top.👍

My plants (1 auto, 1 photo) have grown a lot and are now pretty thicc. Should I remove some leaves to allow more light directly on the new growths from the nodes? More agressive LST? Leave them alone? They have grown in a weird pattern because of my LST attempts (see pic).

The products of photosynthesis are free flowing in the phloem. Apical dominance dictates where resources go in the plant. The best way for good light penetration is to not overcrowd the growing space. stick to 2.5-3 colas per sq foot and have the faith and patience to let it grow in - it will. this ensures space between colas for leaves to grow and less need to defoliate. If you have a full canopy that absorbs all the light (no holes in canopy ety) then your yield will be there. Fewer colas per sq ft also helps with proportion of good buds vs larfy buds. For the last 2-3 years out of spite i've been bending leaves to directly cover buds and those buds all turn out the same as all other buds of similar stature on the plant - i.e. apical dominance. It's consistent and repeatable. Don't think light has to directly hit the buds to make dense buds. there is 1/10th to 1/100th the amount of photosynthesis taking place when light hits the buds vs leaves... you want light hitting leaves. read the guides on cocoforcannabis.com . they go over a lot of this stuff. they bust a bunch of urban myths and bro-science nonsense. Beware of shit information. it's abundant. bruce bugbee is another acceptable source. seed sellers are not a good source for information. they peddle in common (mis)beliefs that help sell more products. my suggestion for future -- take your space in sq ft and divide by 2.5 and 3. That is the amount of colas you want growing vertically in your canopy. then, by working backward from there you plan out how you want to train/top your plant(s) to get there. this keeps you honest and you know immediately when you want to flip to flower -- when you get things organized and ready to grow vertically in an even canopy. Trust that it will fill in. there is another 4-5 weeks of vege growth after flip to flower phase. this is why the plant doubles or triples in size - not because it grows faster in flower... it's simply what happens in another 4-5 weeks of growth before it stops. cocoforcannabis has an article "to defoliate or not..." too. it's a worthwhile read.

Q1: Is it ready to harvest? Most trichs on the buds are what I would say is milky, very little if any are amber. On the leaves next to buds though, quite few amber can be found, especially on bigger leaves and the main bud. Q2: Budwashing if my plant has thrips? Would it help?

Depending on your budget I highly recommend pure crop 1 it's actually for hemp. But I saw how many people say no to neem oil in flower, here is how I use it and do not get the neem taste. So spray your soil, stems and buds. Let it sit for like 3-4 minutes do not let it dry on buds your going to gently spray the buds off with water. Basically rinse the neem off the buds. You might lose some trichs but it's better than it tasting like bitter sour pickle earwax. Leave it on the stems and in the soil it will keep the thrips away. Use neem oil all through veg and be sure to spray the top of the soil. It's a preventative bug spray not a insecticide. As for your first question. No I'd wait at least 2-3 weeks and let them babys swell and trichs get right. You want at least 10% amber, I've found that if you wait for 10% that will give around 87% milky and 3% clear. But definitely start flushing beforehand. Catch a fade in those leaves

I would say if plant is healthy another 2 weeks for full development of flowers needed. About 50% of trichomes are still quite clear.

1) It is not ready to harvest yet. You are getting close but it’s hard to tell because in your diary you have it posted as week 4 Veg. It’s looking like you are developing some amber trichomes. Keep checking every week and harvest when you see roughly 20% amber and 80% cloudy. 2) DO NOT SPRAY YOUR BUDS! Golden rule of flower is to NEVER SPRAY YOUR BUDS! Do not, do not, do not spray neem oil on your buds!!!!!!! I hope this helps.
