This is my first time growing up something. I'am running 3 FastBuds Blue Dream'matic in a 100x100 indoor. Simultaneously I'm growing 3 Tangie'Matic in the same indoor, but that's another entry. I'am using for lighting a Tesla 360W LED manufactured with four units COB (Chip On Board) of 30 diodes each selected. For odor control a carbon filter with an extractor booster, aluminum duct and clamps.
I use two timers, one for the light cycle (18/6) and one for the extraction cycle (20/2). For the variable control, I use a hygrometer for temperature and humidity and a meter of humidity, ph and light in the flowerpots. Any advice will be welcome!
Day 18: The growth has been surprising. I have had a problem with the temperature reaching up to 32 degrees, It is summer in my country and the fan is not enough.
Day 21 - Good!
Day 23 - In two days they have grown around 3 to 4 cm each. Blue Dream 3 measures 18-19 cm, Blue Dream 2 21-22 cm and Blue Dream 1 22-23 cm
Day 28 - In five days they have grown around 10 to 14 cm each. Blue Dream 3 measures 34 cm, Blue Dream 2 40 cm and Blue Dream 1 44 cm. I think the flowering period started. I Take out a couple of photographs by zooming in the areas that I think correspond to the pistils
This week the flowering began to be more evident. The buds are more evident. I think everything is going well since the growth has not stopped, although every time I notice that it is slower.
This week the buds are much thicker and bigger. The size reached 60 cm in Blue Dream 1, 56 cm in Blue Dream 2 and 50 cm in Blue Dream 3. These size differences remained practically identical in the previous weeks, probably due to their location in relation to the LED.
This week the buds have begun to gain weight and grow a little more. I have had some problems with the lower leaves, they turn yellow and begin to dry. I'm not sure if it's due to lack of water, but temperatures have reached 35 degrees outside so I think the excess heat has accelerated water consumption. Fortunately, the upper part of the plants is healthy. I have cut all the lower leaves that are dry or in the process of drying.
Apparently my first harvest will not be as big as I expected. The buds, although they look great, the plant is not very full at all. I think that should be the watering cycles as I mentioned in a comment, I must have stressed at some time with little risk. Still, I think that to be my first time growing anything, it's pretty good. Now I wait for the right moment to harvest. I hope your help with this.
Five days ago I did the root washing of the three plants. I bought a 60x microscope to look better at the trichomes. It is not appreciated very well in the images, but the plant already has at least 20-30% of amber colored trichomes. The buds of the middle and lower part have 50% staple and 50% milky trichomes. I decided to carry out the pruning in 3 more days. From what I have read, it is convenient to carry out a segmented pruning, first those that are fully ready and thus leave the lower parts of the plant to fatten the buds a little more. I do not add fertilizers to irrigation from root washing. I tried defoliation on the lower branches and large leaves that cover the lower buds. This last I did 5 days ago, just after washing roots and I see that it has helped a little to the extra maturation of some buds.
Like any newbie, I made several mistakes, such as excessive pruning, irrigation, fertilization, among others. However, far from bringing problems, the Blue Dream proved to be very resistant. I expected a bigger harvest, but I think the little I have achieved is due to the mistakes I made.
Well, I have reached the final stage of my first grow, and I must say that it is more entertaining than I thought it would be, but I also took a lot of work and care. I think I made several mistakes, I would have appreciated more comments and / or suggestions. I thought for a moment that I could get more production from these three plants, but as I see in other newspapers, they influence the masseters and the power of light. I plan to plant another Blue Dream and a Tangie from FastBuds again, but this time I will apply LST and some pruning techniques. Growdiaries is undoubtedly a great help to monitor the growth of the plants. See you soon here.
Looking good man ! Nice healthy looking seedling ! The only thing I might suggest is to add a little dirt around the stem :) Other then that you're rocking and rolling ! Best of luck on you're grow man !
-Happy Growing!
Nice looking babies there, i see your leaves and curling in at the edges, does this mean they are getting to much light from the source and overheating? I have a similar issue just very mild compared to yours. Im thinking maybe im stressing about nothing? Did you move your light higher when you noticed this?
@YetiGrowth, It is not light. I have a LED panel that emits absolutely no heat, so it can hardly be that. My theory is that since there's been a lot of heat outside (35 degrees Celsius), the heat may have accelerated the water consumption I was carrying so far. Some yellow leaves have also appeared at the bottom which could confirm what I tell you. What I did was speed up the irrigation process a bit.
