This is my first ever grow, so I do many things offhand and try to learn as I go along.
I don't have any friends who grow, so nobody even to ask for advice or so. Any help is very much appreciated.
Currently it's 3rd week, day 18. I will put here a short review of the previous weeks.
22.07 I planted a seed into moistened soil not very deep and covered the pot with some cling film and put it on a windowsill. Just an old-school method.
Just in the morning of day 3 I already saw the seedling showing its head and first leaves. I was surprised how fast it happened.
Unfortunately, at the time I didn't have a grow tent so first day or two the pot was standing on the windowsill. Those days were not very bright, so the seedling started stretching.
Then the sun showed up and I moved the seedling to the balcony during the day. The seedling was already very leggy (don't have any photos to show) but at that time I didn't know it was a big issue. Until I finally got my grow tent and moved the seedling there. The stock was so long that it could not keep the plant vertical and started falling towards the soil horizontally. That's when I decided to takes the matters in my own hands and fix the situation.
I watched some videos and realised that the only way to go without wasting the seed and time would be to bury the stock deeper in the soil. So I did that in the same pot. Since then it hasn't been leggy anymore and grew normally.
However, I have a feeling that it could have been much bigger now if I had had the grow tent and proper conditions for my seedling (and a bit more experience for sure).
But I have what I have and try to take it as some learning material. So now it's on day 18, getting bigger with each passing day.
I try to keep it more humid in the tent (60-65%) but sometimes it's just around 50% at 27-28°C during the day and 25°C at night. I don't have any humidifier at the moment.
The inline fan works at a low speed. Today I also discovered that I actually should open the lower vents on my tent so that the air could go inside more easily.
The light distance is 37cm (14.5"), dimmed to about 50%.
Just a few days ago (already during week 3) I watered my plant with root juice (I didn't have it earlier), hoping that my plant's root system will develop faster and more efficiently.
Before that I watered it a few times with my mineral nutrients for the vegetative stage from a local not-famous-at-all brand.
I'm wondering if I can still be a success with this first attempt of growing my plant and what I should be doing at this point.
I guess it's too early to start any LST, the plant is just very small, doesn't have a lot of leaves. So I just wait and see how it grows, right?
I also don't know if it's photoperiodic or autoflower one. Is there any way to check it? I didn't see any indication of that on the package. I only know the strain.
That's it for now.
