This plant is ~2 months old. It was taken as clone from my first grow of baby yoda. This is By#2 plant. It will chill here in my small vegging space until my first grow is finished drying.
She has been topped twice already and maintained with minimum light as I finish up the first grow to regulate its size.
This plant will stay in my mini grow case with 40w lights until my 2x4 tent is free. So the goal is this gal to grow slowly and healthy.
HST and LST this week as necessary. I will attempt to manage her size while drying finishes up in my 2x4.
Showing some healthy new growth on Day 3 of 'Week 3'.
Bent over and rolled the branches of the latest growth on Day 5 of this week. Trying to make her thick.
Up potted from a tiny container to a 3 gallon pot for the start of this week. This may be the final up pot? Not sure...undecided.
She now lives in the main grow tent (which has also gotten some upgrades for this upcoming grow...)
Light target is 300 ppfd for day 1. Increased to 330 for Day 2. DLI is ~50 @ Day 5
Not sure what is going on with one of the branches. Looks like it is broken, but there are no visible signs of trauma. Hopefully, it recovers.
I am waiting till the end of this week to decide next training direction
Week 5 Day 1 - Added a AC Infiinity 100W light. It was on sale and the tent needed some better light distribution. I might fine tune the PPFD and DLI maps above but content for the time being.
Next watering in a couple days with some silica ].
Wanted to up pot the plants today as well but didn't quite accomplish that.
Instead built a new aeroponics cloner rig and topped them.
Hopefully the lack of issues continues
Increased pot size from 3 gallon to 5 gallon. It's gonna be a bit tricky to fit these three plants in the 2x4. but...unfortunately...no other choice at the moment. So this plant is becoming a bit of a bonsai...
Baby yoda seems to respond well to training but also seems to exhibit more evidence of stress than tentmates. Leaves curling and are twisted. Ph is on mark, light ppfd is reasonable, and roots were a beautiful white when I up-potted her to the 5 gallon.
Baby yoda was moved to the left side of the tent. It is being continuously shaped to fit into the available space. Happy to have another round of this strain but it seems like really not enough space with the other plants dominating the tent.
Baby Yoda round #2 is exhibiting the same characteristics saw during round #1. She's pretty lanky and tempermental. I thought it might be something I was doing during round #1 but just seems to be a bit more difficult than her tentmates.
This plant barely fits in the tent. Just hoping it pays off still to run her for another round.
This Baby Yoda has been trained into quite the bonsai to fit her space. So I am trying to leave her alone for the future as this strain does respond well to training but is also overly stressed by it with curling leaves and stem color changes. Fed her some langbeinite in preparation to go into flower next week! (this is a reflection of the first grow...hopefully I picked the right concentration).
CalMag foliar spray will be applied just before lights off...I don't like the over day emergence of purple leaf tips.
Switched to flower 12/12 on 10/15 because one of the other plants in the tent decided to flip to flower.
Leaving Baby Yoda alone for a bit has improved the visual health of the plant (no crumpled or twisted leaves). Happy with how this girl is looking and hoping it continues along this path.
I am significantly happier with Baby Yoda this go around. I hope things continue to run smoothly for her. I'm looking forward to seeing a good result.
She is definitely the slowest flowering strain in the tent. This might make harvesting interesting...
Some leaves were cut to check for bugs. None were identified.
I’ll add nutrient details later this week. updated
Some of the lower leaves are yellowing and falling off. I’m also sparsely clipping small branches. This plant seems to hate being cut or bent up too much.
All of her primary colas had to be tied up this week. She’s a lanky girl. So it is what it is.
Her bud is looking rich with trichomes and has a dominate minty smell. I hope she keeps her health and carries these terps to the end.
Baby yoda seems a bit upset about the cold temps from the end of week 6. Some of the leaves have changed color from the stress.
I suspect about 3 weeks left at this point.
Unfortunately I am not able to get any photos this week beyond my video monitor. Some additional photos added from the end of this week.
This particular plant might make it to as long as week 10.
This strain is a whiny plant to grow. Complains about everything. Nutes, lights, and especially HST upsets this plant.
But when it comes out good it produces very potent buds. So it’s sticking around.
Flavor is minty, skunk and a little earthy
Grow turned out excellent with nice, dense, and potent buds.
Taste is mint, skunk, and a little earth.
Potency is high. This guy comes out for an energetic intense effect.
@Geens_Greens, most of the time I give nutrients when I use the liquid nutes. Using powder nutes I have to plan ahead for a few weeks. So in that case I’ll mix the dry nutes into the soil and give just ph’d water. But I prefer the liquid nutes.
Also consider what the plants are telling you before deciding nutes.
