To germinate, I initially placed the seed in a small pot with Biobizz Light-Mix. Three days after the seed emerged from the soil, I transplanted it into a 30-liter fabric pot. However, next time I would germinate the seed either in water or directly in the large pot.
The soil I used was prepared about 10 days earlier, following this approximate formula:
- Light-Mix: 40%
- Perlite: 20%
- Worm castings: 14%
- Insect frass: 10%
- Biochar: 12%
- Mycorrhiza: 1%
- Alfalfa: 3%
On the surface, I also planted helper seeds, which is essentially a mix of different clover varieties. This mix is intended to help improve the nitrogen content in the soil. I received these as a promotional gift with the order of the other soil components and thought I would give them a try.
The plant is under a 36-watt LED lamp from Sansi, which hangs from a wooden frame.
