Copied from marijuana-seeds.nl - Details of Matanuska Thunder
Our breeders bring you the one, the only, original Matanuska Thunder. (Also known as Matanuska Thunder Fuck and Alaskan Thunder Fuck.)
Matanuska Thunder is as frosty as the Alaskan mountains with THC levels of 19-22%, a potent Indica that’s short and bushy and covered in snowy crystals. Powerful and hard hitting, this strain offers great medical benefits including strong pain relief anti-inflammatory and anti-insomnia properties. With a height of 60 – 80cm Matanuska Thunder is great for indoor setup and outdoor in mediterranean climates, where you can really push this strain to the limit. Finishing slightly earlier than most hybrid strains, this frosty treasure delivers a decent yield of 400 to 500 gm2.
Matanuska Thunders aroma and taste will make your mouth water with its rich chocolate flavour. Delicious and smooth to smoke, this indica dominant strain has a creeper stone making it ideal for evening and relaxation use. A great strain for chilling out in front of the TV or listening to music.

week one in the books
Just a growin' like a little weed :-)
Slight root issue, but that is being worked out.
A little too much water, her roots are unhappy.
Tiny branches are starting to show.
Mid-week post, more to come
This strain is one of my personal favorites - looking forward to the finish on these two
Roots are a little unhappy, but should be back to normal and happy by week's end
5/18
Once these girls showed signs of happiness, I made us all cry 😢
I trimmed them down to the two leaves and two branches on the fourth node
Damn that was painful 😜
But they are doing fine and growing as intended
Mid Week Post. More To Come.
1/22
Recovered from first cut,( made 2 branches).
Made the second cut, ( to create 4 ).
Made first LST tie down.
1/26
New branches forming
The roots are pissed off from being over watered
Plus the cold weather is affecting things as well
Have adjusted and I'm confident things will level off and back to normal this week
Last mainline cut made
That'll make 8 branches
Roots are unhappy
and that's starting to show in the color
They'll be moved to a better, more stable environment soon
That should help them recover
Pretty sure the problem is a combination of things
Crazy temp swings, and dialing in the nutrients to meet the needs of this strain
Not much to report
Got these girls moved to the farm
They were transplanted and tied down today
So they will be really happy in a day or two
Will put a bigger light on them next week
and start preparing for flower mode
They've recovered from replanting
Trimmed off a node and adjusted the straps
Swapped out the light - now running 1600w
Putting them in flower mode this week
When the light goes off next - they'll be off for 48 hours
Then put on 12/12
Lots going on this week
Gave them one more defoliation cut
Adjusted the straps
They went thru 48 hrs of darkness
To kickstart the flowering cycle
They're on 12 on 12 off now
They're loving their new shoes
And the bigger light
In a couple of days
They'll have a new bigger tent
So they'll all have space to grow into
Couple more weeks and they'll be locked in for the ride 😎
Thought about moving them to the big tent, but the temp was still too low.
Although, they are starting their growth spurt so, they'll be moved next week regardless.
Nothing trimmed.
Fed them. Watered them.
Played some Marley & Grateful Dead for them....
This pair - has a date in about two weeks.
I've cultivated some pollen and I'm just waiting on them to mature enough to pollinate.
I'm really looking forward to this part and the resulting seed stock.
Overall I think they'll grow into form as expected.
We're still dealing with the weather/temp fluctuations.
I certainly can see a difference in the plant's development.
Watching the extended weather I do believe we are riding out the last cold front.
Some consolation is that I do have the lights and air temp dialed in.
But it's the floor and by extension the soil/root temps that are my problem.
Both of these girls have been pollinated several times over the last two weeks.
Also this week we added TNB Naturals' The Enricher to the nutrient mix.
Won that in the GrowDiaries February contest, thought 'might as well try it' ....😀
Overall - I'm not happy that my girls are unhappy
But I do know they'll be okay
Sprinkled with the last of the collected pollen.
Had enough to spread across both Alpha & Beta.
This breeding grow will be the culmination of two years and 7 previous grows.
Sure hope it works 🙏
Removed the tie downs
Freely growing now
Water them really well
Nice to see nuggies though :-)
*******
Got a few more photos - found some sign of seeds - so it looks like the breeding worked.
Added another fan
Have been pampering these two girls
I don't see as many seeds as I'd like
But given the amount pollen used
I'll take what I can get :-)
Started the TnB CO2 system
I'm hoping that will help pick up some of the lost growth due to bad conditions
Overall, they have a lot of flower nodes and looking good to my eye
All of the little flower nodes are taking shape.
Alpha has a few leaves around the bottom that are starting to yellow.
May be a little over watering or just time for those few to drop.
Given all of the troubles these girls have gone thru, I think they look pretty good.
Regarding the breeding aspect
I do see a few seed pods but not as many as I had hoped to get
Nevertheless I'm grateful for them 😜
As long as I can a good female out of these new seeds
I'll have something I can take to the Cup
At the current pace, they should be ripening up in about month
Spotted a few more seed pods - which for these girls is a good thing
Amazing what a Q-tip can do with a little bit a pollen
These girls are rounding the last turn and heading into the straight away
Looking good too 😝
The past week was the last for the bloom recipe
Will start up the ripen recipe next feeding
I figure another 3 weeks or so
The smell is so loud and sweet 😎
I start drooling 50 steps before I get in the door
The girls are still doing well
They are yellowing across the bottom
But only these two are doing that and it is consistent across both
I'm assuming its just and aging thing
(it's definitely not over watering)
Seed pods are intact and looking - well like seed pods...
Getting anxious to grow them though :-)
Hairs are starting to turn color
Trichomes are cloudy to milky
No amber yet - But is coming soon
collected a few seeds this week
already put them in a paper towel to see if they work :-)
they have the sweetest smell, just puts a smile on my face
flowers are looking great
trichomes are turning the right color
they've been on water only this week
most likely will take them down soon
It’s a lot of weeks to get this results .... I believe Nugbuckets mainlining style is supposed to be in a 6 weeks Veg , perhaps you miss your topping somewhere earlier in Veg ... I think you can still find his technics on growweedeasy or something like that...
@@420_observer, from your pics it looks to me like your already using the method nug shows on grow weed easy site. They look great, I can't wait to see them Buds!
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, Have been dealing with a lot of environment issues (cold snaps). So I believe that may have caused most of the plants to not develop as quickly as I would like. But they are coming along nicely. These will be put into flower mode shortly after they recover from being transplanted and re-tied.
I'll look up the Nugbuckets thing you mentioned.
Thanks
@Mrs_Larimar, Yes ma'am, I've been working towards this project for about two and half years now. To see those plans in the final stages of coming to fruition - is very nice indeed 😝
