Looking good mate! Looks like you taken thorough steps to ensure you are rid of problems so thumbs up probably was the salts left in soil! Please to hear about sorting the heating solution sure the plants will thank you for this! The tips of the leaves can also burn due to potassium deficiency when they go into flower as use alot of this nutrient. So make sure they getting some flores!
I wouldn't let your soil stay dry for 2 days, as soon as its dry ready for feed again. Dry soil kills off the root hairs and takes time to get them back again!
@Trainrails holes are great you don't want any water sitting in the pots it allows air into the soil aswell from multiple angles. You will just have to water more as it will dry out quicker!
