Borberad This will be my first grow with photoperiod plants and my second grow in a tent. I'm growing 2 fem. Frozen Black Cherry from Anesia Seeds, which I got from Zamnesia. Temperature and water parameters are only rough guidelines due to the extremely fluctuating outside conditions this summer, despite the air conditioning. The pH of the watering water is adjusted with Hesi pH(-) Bloom. The water comes from the osmosis system with a conductivity of ~ 0.02mS and a pH of ~6.3. The seeds were initially soaked for about 20 hours in a 1% H2O2 solution and then planted in coconut soil. They were intentionally chosen to be different sizes. The small seed germinated 20 hours later (see photos). The large seed broke through the soil in the dark, while the small one did so during the day. Maybe FCB2 has become a bit leggy because of that. (looking for light?)

Borberad At the beginning of the week, the tops of the plants were cut above the third node, and by the end of the week, a little defoliation was done. The plants are growing very dense with extremely short internodes, so the red light portion was increased by adding the flowering lights to get a bit more stretch in the plants.

Borberad Beautiful how identically the two plants are growing. Slowly, a color difference is crystallizing. The lady from the smaller of the two seeds (FCB1) is a bit lighter green and currently has a somewhat fruitier scent. Interestingly, the small seed was also significantly lighter. (But that will probably be unrelated.)

Borberad The plants are definitely thirstier. Half an hour after their sunrise, they were very dry twice in a row. The tips of the pistils on some flowers have turned slightly brown. Therefore, I've now increased the watering to 3.5 liters daily. 2.5 liters half an hour after "sunrise" with normal nutrients and about 5 hours later another 1 liter, but with half the nutrient dose.

Borberad Fifth flowering week. So far, I am thoroughly impressed with the plants. No deficiencies, no pests, great growth, and beautiful flowers. Some leaves on particularly exposed buds are starting to wear out. I think the UV-B exposure might be a bit long, so I'm reducing it by 30 minutes now. From 4 hours to 3.5 hours. On flowering day 33, some leaves of the lighter pheno (1) showed brown spots. Suspected over-fertilization or calcium/magnesium deficiency. Measurement of the drain revealed severe over-fertilization (11mS and pH 4.8). So, I'm flushing first with osmosis water until pH 6 and conductivity 5.8mS. The next day, I’ll flush until pH 6 and conductivity 2mS with a tap water/osmosis water mix with a conductivity of 500 microSiemens (0.5mS). Interestingly, pheno 2 is only now showing issues and completely differently, despite 100% identical fertilization. With pheno 2, the leaf tips are starting to curl inward and the leaves are yellowing, similar to a nitrogen deficiency. This is clearly visible in the last two pictures on the left front.

Borberad Hope after the surprises last week, things will be calmer again. I managed to reduce the drainage EC of both plants to pH 6 and 2000 microSiemens by the end of last week. Interestingly, the EC values of the plants were 2 times apart despite having the exact same water/fertilizer application. The pH value was 4.8 for both [for whatever reason]. I brought the values to the aforementioned levels by flushing with tap water and a reverse osmosis water mix with an EC of 500, and I hope the ladies forgive me and still reward me with a rich and, above all, tasty harvest in 3 weeks. I'm now watering every 2 days, enough to create sufficient drainage to monitor the values. Drainage is around pH 6.0 at a max of 2.5 mS; otherwise, I counteract with reverse osmosis or tap water (0.8 mS and pH 7.2). Since they are in fabric pots, hopefully, it’s not too dramatic to get a bit too much water.

Borberad Over-fertilization has really taken a toll on the little flowers, but luckily there are only about 2 weeks left. Flushing the soil has shown some delayed effects, and the deficiency symptoms are no longer increasing, and the flowers are still looking great and healthy. Unfortunately, I discovered mold on days 47 and 48 of flowering in two buds (despite low humidity of 50%-55%). I might have forgotten to empty the dehumidifier once too often. Lost 27g of wet weight. However, the three other buds harvested on suspicion were okay. So, off they go into the Cannatroll. The scent of the flowers has excited everyone who has had the chance to smell them. Opinions range from lemon to cherry lollipops. :) Since the head buds are surprisingly ripe by the end of this week, I will harvest them tomorrow (beginning of flowering week 8). This way, the lower buds can still ripen a bit more in full light, and nothing will quickly fall victim to mold anymore. Frozen Black Cherry from Anesia is indicated to take 8 to 9 weeks. Therefore, the lower buds will probably need about 1 to 2 more weeks.

Borberad It's the final stretch, the trichomes on the headbuds are slowly turning amber. The slightly shaded buds still have some clear trichomes and can stay on the plant for a few more days. Unfortunately, there was some starting mold inside three buds last week. The buds were completely disposed of, sacrificing (42g) wet weight to the fungus. The three other buds harvested last week (46g wet) were not affected and are already drying for a pre-tasting. :) The headbuds will be harvested at the beginning of this week due to their advanced ripeness and increasing risk of mold. It's incredible how massive these buds have grown.

Borberad Just 48 hours left, then it's time for the final "haircut" for the ladies. The smell is really strong by now. The color is extremely beautiful to look at. I think due to the additional UV-B exposure over the last 4 weeks of flowering, the ladies have matured quite quickly and well, but the lower buds were no longer protected from the intense radiation after cutting the head buds and got a serious sunburn. Some leaves (especially on Pheno 2) show signs of light burn. The previously unexposed new foliage seems to have to completely readjust to the radiation again. The first harvested colas have dried thanks to the Canatroll, so I could already say something about the taste here, .... 😋 Super delicious!!! In the vaporizer, the taste is very similar to the smell. When smoked, the aroma is reduced accordingly, while the aftertaste comes very close to the smell again. Pheno 1 tastes super fruity, almost like a cherry lollipop. Pheno 2 is a bit mintier, fresher, like a cherry/citrus/mint cocktail.

The plant delivers what Anesia promises! It has a wonderful scent of cherries and fruits from the bloom. Early on, the flowers begin to be covered with sparkling trichomes and grow into dense, sticky, and frosty buds. During the growth phase, two different phenotypes became apparent early in this grow, one with darker foliage (Pheno2, FBC2) and one with lighter leaves (Pheno1, FBC1). Throughout the grow, a difference between the two plants was noticeable, which later continued into the smell and taste of both plants. One is a distinctly fruitier type that tastes more like cherry lollipops with cherry aroma (Pheno1) and a slightly mintier, fresher type. Both have a slight taste that reminds me of glue or solvents (gasy). Caring for the plants was quite easy for me, and they handled the LST super well. Even small mistakes like over-fertilizing during the flowering phase were not held against me by the ladies. Great plants whose grow was a lot of fun.

Borberad Week 13 only lasted two days. In my opinion, the plants were sufficiently ripe by day 58. The headbuds had already been harvested earlier due to some small casualties from the fungus. The last days, the plants spent under 48 hours of constant light followed by a final 12 hours of darkness. Whether one of these had a positive effect is unclear, but it can't really go wrong, and I can see arguments for both, so let's combine both methods. All in all, it was a joy to open the tent every day, to see how the little flowers were developing and to be enchanted by their scent. Since the legal situation requires it, only 250g will be dried and cured for consumption in the Cannatrol. So we should theoretically end up with 50g of dry weight. The rest will go into a worm composter, so at least we don't lose all the energy we put in. Stay clean! 💚🍀🌍

@Irati_Anesia, Hi Irati, I'm glad you've been keeping an eye on the grow. To answer your question: It's a drying device specifically for our favorite flower. It's also marketed as Cool cure. This nice device saves me a lot of time. After 4 days, the result is already good to consume. But it gets better with each passing day. 👍

@Irati_Anesia, Hi and thank you very much for the nice comment. The plants were held flat on the ground with pegs during the veg. and I induced flowering while they were still very flat. Then I tie the upward-growing branches back down on the ground if necessary so that the horizontal surface is maintained. Originally I had planned to use a scrog net, but I thought of it too late, so I had to improvise. :)

Hi yeah, now that you mention it, they were really soft and fluffy. A buddy described it after the buds came fresh out of the Cannatrol like juicy fruit flesh. I think I know what he meant now. 🤔 But it definitely didn't hurt the quality at all. After longer curing, it gets firmer and more fruity. We're still super excited about the strain and hope you got a delicious little cherry like we did. 🤞👍🍀

I wouldn't put the dehumidifier in the grow tent, but in the room where the tent is. That way, the necessary buffer can be built up there. Otherwise, nice!!!

@infoservice272, It's a UVb LED spotlight for terrariums. I have 4 of them installed. The manufacturer is called Maineng ??? It emits UVb, UVa, and minimally in the visible spectrum. I had them on for 240 minutes a day (12h), but then the leaves started to curl and twist. So I even reduced it to 150 minutes afterward. Whether that's still too much will only be shown in the next grow.
