This little lady seems to be a slow grower. I don't see any signs of nutrient issues and I have been keeping the VPD at 0.9. My first grow of 3 plants had a slow grower that at some point decided to get with the program and grew just as big as her sisters. While Euthanasia is not off of the table I'll exercise patience.
Looking strong, healthy, and short. Removed the top 2 sets of leaves to slow down top growth and allow light to lower branches.
Thought it would be fun to try something different.
Decided to turn this plant into an octopus. Think in a week or two I will switch it to the flowering cycle. Going to continue working on training the branches outwards so they will get some good light.
Gave this lady her own tent, better light, and switched it to 13 hours of light. Really filled out nicely over the week. There are 8 branches and I plan on trimming all the branches that grow off these so there are 8 nice looking colas. Very happy with how things are going and excited to see this lady start to flower.
Removed some leaves not getting any light. I am sorry to say there was a training accident. We are down to 7 main branches. So its an octopus that got into a fight with a shark. The good news is it looks very healthy, no issues at all. Flowers have appeared!
What else can I say except it's just a nice bush. I've had 0 nutrient issues during the transition and I'm just using cheap GH Maxi powdered fertilizer along with Calmag and Silica. The little lady has just been a trooper through everything. I am still sad I unintentionally HST'ed a branch and it had to be amputated after snapping. Why god why?
Looking good! Removed a few low fan leaves getting no light. Added some bendy clips to some of the leaf stems to improve light coverage. For some reason the leaves are all angled up. With the same light distance as other grows I have I've not seen this happen. I see 0 nutrient issues in any of the leaves. Genetics? Regardless she is a fine looking lady.
Plant appears very healthy. The overall cola sizes seem on the smaller side. I don't know if that is just the nature of this strain, or has something to do with my grow methods. As you can see from the pics the leaves are reaching up for the sky. Not sure why, I've grown a few plants using the same lights at the same distance and have not run into this. Maybe it's genetics? Some leaves have the sides curling up which again based on how healthy the leaves look otherwise I don't know why. My experience has taught me that as long as the nutrient solution is not to hot, the ph is correct, and you are getting runoff its best not to start making guesses. I'm guessing another 2 or 3 weeks until harvest.
Reduced nutrient concentration and removed most of the leaves where the sides were curling inward. This plant will definitely be the lowest yielder I've grown. I don't know where I went wrong but I doubt there is even going to be 2 on this plant.
Harvest time is here! Cut her down and trimmed her up. Off to the cure tent. Going to guess 2.85 ounces but the scales will tell the tale of the tape when it cures.
