I think I finally know the reason for my calcium problem.
I made a solution of epsom salt to add to my water. However I did a mistake in my calculations and was giving them about 80mg/L magnesium from day one, up to 120mg/l with calmag. My Ca:Mg ratio was about 1:1.
I only give them pH adjusted water from now on.
