@Papa_T, those bottom leaves that are showing deficiencies can just be their way of slowly dying if they're not getting any light the plant will feel as though they're unnecessary and let them die that's what I read anyway.. and if you stick to mister Canuck you will not go wrong that man can definitely grow and his flower always looks primo.. like I said if I had the means I would definitely do it the same way.. and I think the more you get used to it you're going to start growing some really really good stuff soon I'm sure you are already but you know what I mean
