These girls are super happy. I have moved them under one “1500w” cob led light. I have another to add when they are big enough - any suggestion as to when that might is welcomed. The light is 28 inches above the plants. Started adding a little bit of calmag to the water and will add liquid seaweed in next watering. I am also making compost tea to feed this weekend. I’ve read that Fox Farm Ocean floor can be hot for auto seedlings but it looks like these ladies can handle it thus far or maybe it just hasn’t cropped up yet? Thoughts?

I have these plants 24 inches under a “1500w” cob led light. I have a second one to add. When should I add it? Thanks for your advice

It’s safe to turn on all your lights at this point. Do this: start at low power if you can and slide it up over the period of a few days. Slow subtle changes are always best. Nothing good happens quickly with plants, only bad stuff. Once at full power slide your lights lower 1” per day until you see signs of stress. It’ll be one of three things. 1. The leaves praying to the lights(upturned tips) 2. Leaf edges curling up 3. Top leaves yellowing. Once you see any sign of any of that back them up an inch. Now you’re in the sweet spot for this strain. Measure the distance and try to keep your lights in that range as the plants grow.

What are the best things to do over the last few weeks to maximize yield and bud density? Thanks in advance for your wisdom!

Our grows are fairly close and I have been researching this for the past week or two. Here are some things I have been trying and it seems to be working so far, you can check out my grow pics. -Dropping the temps down at night and bringing down the humidity as low as possible. Its cold where I am so I can let in some fresh air and get the humidity as low 25%. The buds seem to be covering themselves in trichomes a little bit faster than previous experiences. -In my coco pots, I am going to flush with blackstrap molasses to help naturally feed the buds and fatten/sweeten them up before harvest. -Also, check this site out, full of great information and tutorials! https://www.growweedeasy.com

I think @Smowkabowl has the right idea on the purple leaves. I have personally dealt with 2 situations where the leaves turn purple. First is obviously genetics, second if your night temps get too cold it will lock out phosphorous intake and cause purple on the leaves. I assume that ph or lack of nutrients could cause it also, but I would think other nutrient issues would be visible as well in those situations.

@Wicked_Stix, Thanks for your reply. I think my temps are pretty stable, so I'm not sure if that is the issue. I fed last night with Big Bloom and Cal-Mag, but I think I will try a foliar spray tonight to help address the issue, then start giving it to them in feedings/waterings as necessary.

To answer your question: That really depends on how much space you have and if those 1500 watts are true watts or equivalent. With COB led lights, you start getting diminishing returns when going over 40 true watts per sq ft. Second, before adding more light I would try to get the light closer, 24 inches distance means that you loose quite a bit of intensity.

bring down your lamp to plant distance to around 12 inches bro you them stretching

Normanite420commented6 years ago
@CRiSPrGrow, I will probably go ahead and take the advice and move it down and keep lowering it down until I see signs of heat stress. I have been scared to do that over the last week due to topping and LST - didn't want to over-stress the ladies. Appreciate your input!

@Normanite420, dont just take my word for it, keep a close eye on them, do the hand test even... but keep an eye on them...

Normanite420commented6 years ago
@CRiSPrGrow, I have them at around 18 inches, which is what the manufacturer recommends for flowering plants. I've been worried about them burning. I will lower the lights if this is stretching. I thought it was normal growth. Thank you!

Nice garden! I wonder if the purple leaves might be genetics, have you check out other diaries? Epsom salts can help with purple stems too... I use about 1/2 to 1 teaspoon per gallon of H2O. Peace and Happy gardening

@Normanite420, nah, just add it to your feed, from what I've read you don't ever want to spray the buds or flowers. I've never used a foliar for anything yet, still a newb. Peace

Normanite420commented6 years ago
@Smowkabowl, Thanks! I am going to buy epsom salts tonight. Since I just fed them, do you think foliar spray is best option? I wasn't sure since the plants are in flower.

Hey there I think you should go for the lst! It'll be fun to test and experiment, and if it seems wrong or too stressful you could always untie them?. Maybe if you want to test the difference with lst and none, try doing the lst on one plant? I hear a lot about doing a "sample or test" plant amongst the other normal grows, whether with training or nutrients etc. To try determining the value or lack of in some cases.

@Experimentgreen, thank you! I took your advice and started the process. I have a thread on reddit here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Autoflowers/comments/aiu84w/lst_advice_how_often_to_moveadd_tiedowns/ Would love your advice - thanks again!

what nutrient line?
Normanite420
Normanite420commented6 years ago
@chronicthehemphog, Just liquid seaweed and compost tea first, then cal-mag and I’ve got fox farm dirty dozen though I’m not sure how much I will use. Probably less than 1/4 dose starting in 1.5-2 weeks.

I just have the seedlings under three 100w CREE bulbs.
