She’s just popping out of the RapidRooter, but ain’t she cute!? She’s my first gal in 2019 - I think she’s already a prize winner! 🤩 I’m trying my new top feed system, so I’m excited to see how she does! I’ll likely not top this one, and instead let her grow quick and naturally. We’ll see how she does!
Not a lot of vertical growth but she’s grown a lot horizontally. Roots are starting to really take off now. I think she’ll show some significant growth over the next week. So far she’s been healthy!
No problems to report. It seems to be growing slow, though the root system looks great! She's healthy and growing bigger every day, she's just staying very short. I'm not sure what to expect out of this one. Hopefully she puts on some height over the next week or so -- otherwise this is going to be one plant with TIGHT node spacing. We'll see! Defoliated top most set of fan leaves on day 28 to expose lower branches to light.
This has been a strange plant so far. She’s extremely short, but looking healthy. I think she stayed so short because my light is too strong. I raised the light by about 8” and she’s seemed to grow a bit. Hoping she’ll show a bit of stretching so I can do a little training. As of now, she’s too short to do any LST even. But she’s healthy...so we’ll see!
She’s still a short plant, but she’s grown quite a bit! I am about to defoliate her to expose more bud sites, but this is strange! I’m pretty sure she had too much light early on, but nevertheless she looks healthy! We’ll see how she does in a few weeks. No real flowering yet, but hopefully she doesn’t turn out to need 12/12!
This is one interesting grow! Plant is staying super short but has tons of growth. The stems are very thick, and she’s super healthy. There’s a very likely possibility that I got non-auto seeds - will likely have to switch this to 12/12 in a week or two.
This plant is definitely a photoperiod. Not even showing her sex (Sex Pistils?). I'm about to harvest my photoperiod from its tent and will be moving this plant to that tent shortly thereafter so I can get her going under 12/12. The plant is super short but she is PACKED with foliage annd bud sites. I'll likely have to clean her up a bit and do some training so I can open up the canopy to more light. She might produce well though considering her tight node spacing. We'll see how she does after I switch to 12/12.
Getting ready to toss her in the 12/12 tent. I’ll do some ligh training and defoliation to open up the canopy and see what she does.
UPDATE Day 59: Moved her to new tent and set her to 12/12. Also defoliated a ton, then did LST to expose canopy. Fingers crossed!
She’s healthy. I’ve got her isolated in a 12/12 tent for now. It looks like she might start flowering now. I trimmed a lot and did some LST and the canopy really filled out nicely afterwards. Hoping to get some nice buds from this, as she has tight node spacing!
DAY 67: Moved her to a 7 gallon bucket so I can use the 5 gallon to start another plant. Still waiting for her to show pistils; she keeps vegging!
She finally seems to be in flowering mode. Very short plant, but very tight node spacing. I pulled most of the large fan leaves off to try and focus the development on bud sites. We'll see how that goes. I also switched her to flowering nutrients a bit earlier than I usually do...I'm trying to get my nutrient delivery timed better to result in better early flowering growth. Everything's an experiment. 😷 I plan to let her recover from the defoliation and then doing a bit more LST to spread out the canopy a bit more evenly. She looks good. The light should help those lower branches perk right up and hopefully be productive. Time will tell!
As long as she’s acting like an photo, I’m going to start treating her as an photo! I pumped her up to 850ppm this week to see if she can handle it. If so, I’ll go to 1000 the following week and confirm. My bag says “auto”, but I have a feeling they were mixed up and labeled incorrectly. We’ll see what happens... she’s healthy for now. She quickly grew back her fan leaves after my last defoliation. I’m probably going to give her another major defoliation soon. Roots are nice, plant looks healthy, and the node spacing is awesome. I might get some decent bud off this if I don’t screw it up in the next few weeks! 🤷♂️🏻
So far, so good. I’m hoping to see some major bud growth over the next week. She’s healthy, has nice roots, and is drinking nutrients pretty well. Leaves all look nice. No real issues to report. Looking forward to harvesting this lady so i can put 4 photos in this tent.
She’s looking great still. Really happy plant. She’s really starting to bulk up now...still entirely white pistils, but they’re starting to get bigger and form buds now. I’m expecting to see nice bud formation over next 2-3 weeks. Maybe 3-5 weeks til harvest?
All’s good on the midwestern front. 😎
She’s starting to bulk up. Been a lot of pH fluctuations- and she’s gotten a bit of rusty look to some of her fan leaves. She’s nice a coated with trichomes. She smells great. Really hoping she puts on some weight over the next week. The node spacing is tight enough to let her bulk up if she’s gonna do it. I defoliate the upper leaves but left the lower canopy alone for the most part. We’ll see what she does over the next two weeks. I’m looking to harvest her so I can throw 4 photos in this tent. 😎🌳
Plant is finally getting near harvest. I plucked most of the large fan leaves and am hoping she bulks up a bit more in the next week. Might be a week or so away from harvest. She smells amazing and is sticky AF!
I really like this strain. I feel like a lot of the lack in yield was my fault -- and also the seed bank. I ordered autos, but got photos. I would have approached growing entirely different -- nutrient levels and such. Anyway, this plant produced pretty well considering the lack of proper care. The buds are covered in trichomes, smell amazing, and leave me with a ton of energy and a hell of a high. Really enjoy this strain. Highly recommended!
Cut this girl down finally. Not sure what happened with this bag of seeds. I ordered autos but they all acted more like photos. Perhaps if I had grown them as photos the entire lifespan I might have increased the yield. Nevertheless, it’s kmpressive how dense this strain is. While I didn’t get massive, thick buds, everything that is on the plant is smokeable and dense. I have grown this strain before and I do not expect much loss of size after drying. So whole most buds are popcorn buds, they should maintain their approximate size when dried due to the density of the nugs. I’m happy just to have this plant cut down because I’ll be putting 4 more in it’s place. I’m about to do some experiments and have been waiting for this plant to finish.
DRIED UPDATE: Smoked a bit of her...she's got a ton of flavor and is very dense. A small lower popcorn bud lasted longer than most of my bowls..just wouldn't stop. Will do well to hold me over til next harvest... Really happy with her flavor, but know I can get a better yield next time. I'll order the photos again -- and will give her nutrients accordingly. Can't complain, only improve. I'm Six Sigma Black Belt, constantly improving my bud growing. 0
@DailyBread, dude! That nugsmasher is crazy! Thanks for sharing that, I’ve never heard of it before. Seems super convenient for making oils and wax and stuff. I prefer to smoke, but have tried shatter a few times. That stuff is intense.
@@Chi_Town_White_Boy, I dont even trim it. Straight to the smasher, and icewater hash. Look up subcools video on youtube for the hash. You can get the bags off any hydro store for 20 bucks. Run all trim, and stems through the bags. The shit you get from the 120 run is dabbale. I use the rest for cooking, or putting in coffe, or tea for work
@@Chi_Town_White_Boy, nugsmasher is what I have. You can use a curling iron, or tshirt press. I do 220 temp if you want shatter for 3 minutes. I do not smoke flower only that rosin. Fast bugs west coast og makes the best tasting. You from chi? Aroura ? St charles?
wwwaaaw. what do u add to the water ? i use RO and only drop hydronutes in it (A+b) basic nutes (plagron) how much ppm do u do from week to week ? or do u just ad 1ml/l
@Reaper, hey there! You don’t seem to be struggling...you have some badass diaries! And yes, for my autos I use way less than recommended. I maintain ratios for the most part, but my focus is on the PPM each week. For autos it seems like I can only go to 600ppm max. Anything over that seems to lead to too much nitrogen (green, shiny leaves). So I’ve been playing lately with reducing my Bloom Part A to reduce nitrogen. This 600ppm seems to be the ceiling for me, though 550ppm seems to be a good spot to avoid burn or over-nutrients.
Only way I’ve seen people go higher than 600ppm seems to be when they add CO2.
When I do nutrients, I tend to know what I’m looking for. For 550-600ppm using the Advanced Nutrient lineup, it’s about 20ml per 3 gallons of A&B, with 10ml per 3 gallons of everything else. That’s much less than recommended, but I’m maintaining the recommended ratios still.
Hope that answers your questions! 👊🏻
@Chaos85, just revisiting your comment... thanks for the idea! i think I will definitely pull a clone off this and then move her into 12/12. We'll see how that goes! I've never cloned before but will be fun to try! 🙏
@Chaos85, great point! I’m a little curious how this one is gonna grow. If it’s not flowering by week 7 I’m going to induce it on this one. I should definitely grab a clone if it turns out the same! Awesome idea!!
@Potagonia, I've had some weird experiences with autos....cold seems to stretch out their veg period for some plants.
This strain in particular is one of my favorite. Good luck with the grow! I'll keep my eyes on it! One of my best strains I've grown to date! 👊
@Auto_GrowZ, absolutely. PH perfect is bullshit, honestly. I pH my reservoirs twice a day, otherwise they don’t do that well. I’m in the process of switching back to GH. Not a huge fan of AN, but I have to finish what I have still.
